Diner Reviews
  • "...and it was completely packed even when we left around 9:30 p.m on Sunday eve. Many large tables made the usual efficient service a little sluggish. That said, we weren't in a hurry and still enjoyed the experience but may consider elsewhere during next restaurant week in Twin Cities. My mother had never dined there and was impressed with the experience. New garlic beef was a hit with the table, and lamb leg was very mild."

  • "We went there for resuarant week to take advantage of the pricing of $30 for dinner, and when we arrived we were informed that their best meet was not available for that price and if we wanted to have that we would have to pay the full price. Really? Way to honor Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine Restaurant Week. Would the restaurant that has such a great attendance lose in a week by making their customers happy? I guess management does not care about making us happy."

  • "Disappointing change to restaurant week removes cuts of meat and desserts"

  • "A wonderful array at the salad bar!! Marvelous little rolls, and the meat never stops for those who are carnivores with huge appetites. It is overwhelming for those of us with petite appetites. The servers are fantastically caring and helpful. The seafood menu was very limiting, so for those who don't eat meat, the salad bar (which is huge) has to suffice."

  • "While the price keeps this restaurant a special occasion only place - the food is outstanding. It's a fun experience, to flip your card green - bring on the meat, or red - stop and let me digest. Consider that you likely won't need a meal the entire next day as part of the value. We had excellent service from our waitress, a nice chat with the manager, and courteous service from all of the servers running around with the meat skewers."

  • "With the salad bar and table-side meat service you can have an excellent meal in less than an hour - - even with a larger party. Wide variety of meat cuts will appeal to different tastes. Top sirloin cuts are especially flavorful."

  • "Great place for celebating special occassions, choice of meat is excellent, salad bar has variety of choices and overall service is excellent."

  • "The food is usually awesome and it's fine to fine dine once in awhile. This last time I went, my family and I had the worst service possible. The food was still good but just a horrible waitress who could care less about her tables."

  • "We greatly enjoyed our visit to Fogo de Chao. The food was delicious (and plentiful) and the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful!"

  • "I had one guy cutting the meat for me that splashed the grease on my silk shirt and pretty dismissive about it as I slid my chair away from the table he didnt really seem to care either way. Had an accent, northern Scandinavian look and sound. Weak sides. The prime special or house special seemed to taste best as far as how it was marinated. Seemed like too much MSG in meats and you can tell by the thirst level after eating here so drop MSG. Expensive for what you get and would rather go to Capital Grill or Mannys for a good cut of beef for similar dollars. More of a party scene for a group. We have kids under 4 at the table next to us and a party of around 30 to 40 right behind us so incredibly noisy. Fogo Malbec was tasty."

  • "It was everything I had heard it was and more. Our waiter was always there and we never had to wait for anything. The food was the greatest. There was nothing that I would say was not a 10. We had clean plates all the time and never asked for anything they just produced it before I even thought to ask for it."

  • "Enjoyed the food and the wine, but I think the salad bar is the best part for me. It balances out the overload of meat."

  • "Took my father out for Father's Day, BEST MEAT WE HAVE EVER TASTED! You are waited on hand and foot. Service is absolutely amazing and food is to die for!"

  • "If you are a carnivore and love juicy, flavorable meat, this restaurant is for you. Not only that, the fantastic salad bar is a meal in itself-delicious veggies, cheese, and more. The staff has been very attentive and friendly at each visit. We like how the management stops by the table to ask how things are going. It's a little crowded when walking around, with tables quite near each other, but it's livable."

  • "This was our first visit to Fogo with small children included (ages 8 months and almost 3). Service was stellar as it always is. Food was excellent although the choices of meats seemed fewer. My only dislike was the wine list which apparently was recently reformatted. I prefer wines listed by type not region so found it very difficult to find the wines I wanted. We have reservations for restaurant week but were told the menu will be different than in the past - less meats and no dessert included! May rethink our choice."

  • "This was a perfect destination for Father's Day. The good was exceptional, but the staff and service truly made this a memorable experience for the whole family."

  • "We went to Fogo de Chao for Father's Day. Food was excellent. The choice cut meats and the salad and appetizer bar were very well prepared and also tasted divine. The service was outstanding. Everyone was attentive to our needs and they did not leave us waiting. We will definitely come back and savor the experience again."

  • "The food is excellent on both selection and quality, top notch. The service is terrible if the restaurant is too busy. After we arrived, seated and drinks arrived but no one will bring food. They will all walk by but will not stop although the stop sign is visible!! Had to bring the issue to some one's attention before we were served any food. Totally unexpected and unacceptable considering the amount of $$$$ you spend."

  • "This was our 3rd or 4th time to Fogo de Chao Minneapolis. We like the Minneapolis restaurant better than the Chicago one because of the livelier atmosphere. The food is always delicious, especially the offerings of the salad bar, and the service is great."

  • "As ALWAYS - food and service were excellent. We have been here many times, and still love the unique dining experience. Definitely should make reservations, even for lunch."

  • "My first experience at Fogo, was a regrettable one. My party was seated in a dead zone. The servers seemed to ignore our table. After speaking with the Manager about our experience, he encouraged us to come back. I am very glad we did. Service was 100% better! My wife and I were very satisfied with the food. The Salad bar was outstanding, and I cannot say enough about the choices of meat that were being served on a very steady basis. This time, when I turned a cut of meat down, they asked if I was waiting for a particular cut and then brought it!! We liked it so much, we purchased a gift certificate to give to my in-laws as a gift. "

  • "We went to Fogo de Chao to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When I made the reservation I requested a quiet table, and we were seated at a nice table next to a divider wall so it felt a little more private. It was perfect. The food was amazing --- just like I remembered it! It was really great to get out for a grown up date night for the first time since our daughter was born. We especially enjoyed the garlic top sirloin --- it was amazing! I also couldn't get enough of the caramelized bananas! Another part of the meal that I had been looking forward to was the Brazilian limeade. What a refreshing way to cleanse your palate between bites!"

  • "Food was excellent, enjoyed everything we tried! Was our first time going we were celebrating our anniversar, which we were asked if we were there for anything special. We took desert home, no room after all the amazing food, we weren't charged for our anniversary! The entire staff acknowledged us throughout our time there, I have never experienced such great service from so many in one establishment! I'm in customer service and only return and recommend if I'm impressed! Great job!"

  • "The salad bar is frankly the best I have ever seen, in variety and freshness. You can easily make a meal of it! The meat cuts are delicious and sizzling, and the service is really outstanding. "

  • "Fogo de Chao in Minneapolis was certainly up to the chain's billing. Great meats and the gauchos serving the large skewers. SERVICE was OUTSTANDING using a "team approach!" The manager and all the servers were attending to EACH AND EVERY TABLE. VERY nice wine selection which apparently local laws allow you to take any undrunk bottle home with you--so don't hesitate to order wine by the bottle. Enjoyable evening, for sure."

  • "Four $50 per person, you can eat a very nice meal at a lot of restaurants. I'd rather have one really nice type of steak at Murray's than eat the meat smorgasbord here. We had an annoying waitress. When I asked her to recommend one of three wines in the $40 per bottle range, she tried to upsell me to a $100 per bottle wine. I told her we were on a budget and again asked for a recommendation between the three wines. Again she tried to upsell me to a different wine without answering my question. In frustration, I picked one of the three choices myself. That finally shut her up."

  • "My husband and two children went. It was a lovely restaurant but very expensive. For the four of us it was $250.00, and that was with only one glass of wine. I would not take the children again as there is no way they ate enough to justify the $50 plate. Other than the very expensive price tag, the salad bar was lovely as was the various beef options presented. My daughter and I had the flan and creme broulette (sp?) and both were divine. My son enjoyed the Brazilian soda - a cherry ginger ale flavored soda. The wine list was indeed impressive and my husband had a lovely glass of Malbec. "

  • "Fogo is one of my favorite restaurants and any chance I can get to go there I will. They treat me like a queen each and every time I do go there. I am already looking forward to my next visit."

  • "My husband and I decided to finally try Fogo before the Aziz Ansari show this past Sunday. The caipiranhas were delicious and refreshing. Our server, Nathaniel, was friendly, professional and eager to please. We got to try a little bit of everything and left completely stuffed. We did order the shrimp skewers to complement our meaty meal, and would definitely do that again. The service overall was excellent. Husband has declared Fogo de Chao his new favorite restaurant. Success."

  • "I expect everyone knows about the meats and grilling, since that is FDC's claim to fame. If you are a steak & potatoes person, you will be in heaven. I did not expect to be as impressed as I was at the rest of it, though. Our table attendant was unsurpassed; I seriously started to wonder if he read minds, while he was almost invisible in being unobtrusive-perfect. Best of all? This veggie lover was in heaven at the enormous selection of perfectly prepared vegetables. My plate had every colour on the vegetable palette, not to mention the cheeses and hot side dishes. One caution, you really need to be hungry, as you WILL want to try everything. You will NOT leave hungry, and I expect FDC will jump to the top of your "special occasion" list!"

  • "Fogo and staff were amazing in helping me host a surprise birthday party. All of the members showed up 30 minutes earlier in which they accommodated everyone. Excellent service, food, and ambiance. "

  • "Food and service were excellent, as always. Used the valet parking for the first time -- outstanding! Due to the fact there was a Twins game that evening, it was nice not to have to struggle to find a parking place!"

  • "You can't go from with Fogo de Chao if you love your meat and especially all kinds of steak. The picana is great and so is the filet mignon. The chicken is also absolutely worth of your attention. But what is always underestimated is that Fogo de Chao also has an excellent salad bar to start of your diner. Service is very good to, with attentive waiters who help you out with clean plates and who make sure that when you want some food, it is delivered instantly. The only "negative" point I have is the fact that it can become very noisy when the room fills up."
