Diner Reviews
  • "Beyond the normal expectations for a Brazilian Steakhouse (huge salad bar, lots of great meats hand-carved at your table), the service at Fogo Denver was beyond compare. The staff was especially knowledgeable about the extensive wine list. The waiter manning the dessert wine and congac cart after dinner -- Minu -- was a fountain of knowledge regarding the ports, brandies, and fine congac. He recommended a delectable pairing of an aged Grand Marnier and a light, not-too-sweet Papaya cream that was the perfect end to an excellent dining experience. Fogo de Chao Denver is a cut above the other Brazilian Steakhouses in the area because of their incredible staff. "

  • "We haven't been to Fogo in over a year and we both felt the quality of meat was better (not that it was bad before). My favorites are the filet and the pork ribs. And we LOVE those cheesy bread balls. The salad bar is high quality with homemade basil dressing, sliced prosciutto, grilled zucchini & asparagas, cooked garlic cloves, fresh mozzarella and other cheeses. Oh- and they had grilled pineapple this time that had cinnamon which was interesting and tasty. Definitely no room for dessert."

  • "I have been to restaurant several times and enjoy the restaurant. The salad bar is excellent to complement your protein-centric meal. It is a good choice for groups, as everyone (even those who are not beef-centric) can generally be accomodated (again, the salad bar is excellent). I do find that the servers are a bit over-eager. They seem to be almost hovering over your table at times. However, Denver is is this reviewers opinion, service-challenged. That being the case, if I have to choose between hovering service and the service that is far more typical in Denver, I'll take hovering. I do think the experience is overpriced for what you receive but again, good for entertaining a group."

  • "The service was fantastic. You certainly will not leave hungry. Celebrated a birthday and gave him a free dessert. Would recommend the restaurant to anyone would likes meat."

  • "It was incredible! But I ate so much that at one point, I was seeing stars, and then the souls of all the dead poultry and bovine came to me in a weird, trippy, red wine-induced vision...I wish I could have taken them home. I guess in a way, I did."

  • "I've been to Many Fogo's and to this one a few times. We went on a Friday night. The food is always great. This time was a bit off in other areas. I asked for one type of meat to be brought that was not rare and after being told it would arrive in a few minutes it never did. Even after asking again about 15 minutes later it still took forever and I then got charred meat. Also the wine list is good but I decided I wanted a beer. I like dark beer. They had only two to choose from. Lastly the tables seemed very close so conversation at dinner was not the best. Otherwise it was fine. I still love the food and the concept but for $150 for a couple they could have done much better."

  • "We went to Fogo de Chao during Restaurant Week. It was really hard to find the valet parking - the directions on their website do not mention which street the valet parking is accessed off, which would be helpful. There is next to no street parking. When we arrived I asked if there was someone I could speak to about that and the hostess said yes, but nobody ever came to talk to us. The wait staff were inconsistent. The salad bar was basic with the exception of a couple of meats like parma ham and a couple of sort of specialty cheeses. The meat was good, but not outstanding, and the mashed potatoes I had were soupy. My husband's potatoes had a lump of half a potato in the middle. I would not go there again."

  • "I like the ambience of this place. The service was good, They were very attentive to us and the kids, and they make sure we get type of meat we want. Kids frendly restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant!"

  • "I have been to this restaurant before, & was very satisfied. This weekend that I visited was a big disappointment as we didn't know that the restaurant was only serving a fraction of their meats at a fraction of the price. That should have been disclosed to me when I made the reservation days in advance."

  • "Went here for restaurant week, I thought this was one of the better deals of the week. Unlimited salad bar and fabulous meat selection. We stayed for an hour and a half, but if your eyes are bigger than your stomach you be out in 30 minutes. We enjoyed our time and there was definitely enough food to go around. My recommendation.. do not get filled up on the sides, besides the fried bananas (those were good). Definitely would recommend this place, but know it's not your typical restaurant."

  • "The food was delicious and non-stop. You had a variety of choices and not one disappointed. We also had the NY cheesecake and it was amazing. Anything that we needed a waiter was on top of it and got it right away. They were very attentive and helpful in explaining anything you didn't understand."

  • "I love to sample a little of many kinds of food so Fogo de Chao is my perfect place. All of the food is wonderful from the superb salad bar to the meats that are brought to your table. Denver Restaurant Week enables it to be a great value experience"

  • "Our experience was less than optimal based on the serving temps and lack of tenderness of the meat. The only meat that came out HOT was one of the passes of pork ribs, we both thought .... FINALLY! Hot food. On the positive side......the salad bar was an A+. Great selection! Great taste! Fresh beyond expectations. We went back more than once and finished with the apple salad, a couple slices of the delicious and flavorful cheese and another glass of wine."

  • "Meat selection was good. Salad bar wasn't impressive. Other side dishes weren't impressive."

  • "Salad-bar is to small, no grill seafood. Meet unsolted. Me and my husband asked if we can go smoke, the waitress stated that we need left cellphone on the table, that means we are not gonna left without payment!!!!its a first restaurant that asked me to do that. I feeling like I'm a homeless and trying to get a free dinner. Never will go again, and will give a "good" feedback to my friends."

  • "The food was really good. Went during restaurant week so it was very affordable. The only thing is the hostess didn't check me in and I saw all these other groups getting called and when I went up to check I looked at the list and didn't see my name. The hostess ran down her list and was like " oh really soon, you're next." It was busy I give her that much. The servers were the nicest people though, not the 3 hostess girls in the front."

  • "We went for restaurant week and were very pleased. It is a lot of food and a lot of meat. Since I am a fish lover I was pleased that they had smoked salmon and coconut haddock at the salad bar. The salad bar was absolutely the very best!!! My favorite meat was the lamb, so delicious! It was a fun dining experience with my husband and another couple."

  • "I ate so much food that I could not move. The salad buffet was amazing but I did not save enough room for the meat option. I wish that there were more dipping options or oils for the meat but everything was pretty amazing."

  • "I know it was Restaurant Week and the restaurant was extremely busy, but they've been in business long enough to know how to handle it and how their restaurant should appear. Right from the start I was disenchanted by their waiting area that had all of it's outdoor furniture piled in it, looking like a storage room and not a waiting area for a nice restaurant. Being taken to our table we passed by what was supposed to be the ramp for wheelchair access, instead it was piled with about 20 chairs (not even neatly). This is an expensive restaurant that you are going to drop a lot of money at, even during Restaurant week, and you expect exquisite surroundings. The salad bar was bleak, the rest of the food was only so-so. Not worth the money!"

  • "Went during Denver Restaurant Week 2014.. The gauchos were less than friendly, in fact, quite abrupt. The couple we were with had never experienced eating Churrascaria dining before, and the gauchos were less than hospitable as our guests tried to learn what to do. It also appeared the restaurant added more tables to the dining area to accommodate for loss of revenue due to restaurant week. It was extremely tight/crowded and LOUD."

  • "I've been here before and it was great to go back. Definitely my favorite in this style of restaurant. Meats are very well prepared, salad bar is better than you'd think, and the sides they bring to your table add a nice complement to the meal. Expensive, but worth it for an every once in a while type of event."

  • "Had a great experience at Fogo de chao. Our reservation table was ready at the exact time I booked it for. We had a friendly server. Food was great."

  • "Service was good overall however we didn't get each item as indicated by our server. Very loud atmosphere and difficult to hold conversations. Great drinks, quick service but overall just average service."

  • "I typically eat at Texas De Brazil wanted to try another similar steakhouse. The cuts of meat were bottom of the barrel...top sirlion, cheap pork, and chicken. The salad bar also was sub par low quality in everything from cheese to the salad dressing that taste like store bought. I was very disappointed and will not be back."
    Dined on 2/26/2014
  • "Overall very good as previously experienced. A little disappointed that the better cuts of meat (filet, ribeye) were off the menu for restaurant week."

  • "We went to this unique restaurant during Denver's Restaurant Week, first time visit, but definitely will not be our last. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the food, and the friendly service. Prices for drinks were not out-of-line high either, which was a welcome feature. We plan to go again."

  • "For the super busy restaurant week, Fogo does an excellent job of offering their full menu and great service. My family of 6 goes every year and this year we had an added infant of which Fogo accommodated for very nicely. I would say this place is great for kids in that they can be entertained."

  • "This place is amazing the staff is awesome and the food will blow you away! One of my favorite places and I will be back many times I'm sure."

  • "We went during restaurant week so it was only $30 per person. I would not be happy at all if we had to pay full price. A nice salad bar before they start sending out meat, meat, and more meat. It was good and the service was very good but we are not a fan. Saw lots of young people, it seems to be there thing or for big groups. Don't get me wrong but you're going to get the same thing every time you go and I don't feel you get your moneys worth."

  • "I am not a vegetarian but the salad bar and all the sides are amazing for vegetarians as well as meat lovers. I love the quality of the food, meats and the salad bar! The lamb here is amazing and I don't even like lamb!"

  • "I was really excited for our dinner at Fogo de Chao and left feeling really disappointed. After visiting three other Brazilian Steakhouses in Colorado, Fogo de Chao was my least favorite and I doubt I will return. I was never given a new or separate meat plate and always had to go to the salad bar for a new plate and they put my meat on the same plate as my salads. The salad bar was okay but nothing to go back for. The meats were decent but quite a few times when telling the server that I wanted medium to medium well on the beef selections, I was given one that was rare. The pork was dry. Additionally, I was very turned off after the first meat server dripped blood all over the white table cloth so it was there for our enitre meal."
