Diner Reviews
  • "My boyfriend and I arrived at 7:20pm for our 7:30pm reservation. We were told it would take 20-25 minutes to be seated. Sure, no problem. They gave us a beeper. After 30 minutes, I started to notice that people who had arrived after us, were being seated. I talked to the hostess and found that my name was not on the list. They seated us soon afterwards, but my boyfriend was extremely upset because they did nothing to make up for their error. The tables were crammed together, such that it took some effort to maneuver around the tables. The cheesy bread, polenta, and fried bananas took 10-15 minutes to arrive at our table. About half of the meat (chicken and beef) offered was over cooked. Overall, I was extremely disappointed."

  • "Fogo is usually an awesome dining experience - great food and fun. This past Sat they packed the place. Brought in additional tables. They actually allowed the guests to have their heads bummed repeatedly by other patrons trying to squeeze between tables and the wait staff repeatedly bumming into guests. We got terrible service, but it wasn't the servers fault, it was management's for directing additional tables be jammed into the space. What a way to ruin a reputation for a short term profit gain. Just terrible!"

  • "Even though we only received a choice of 8 of the meats versus the main menu of 16, we all enjoyed our dinners. Salad bar and hot items were great. Would not hesitate coming back here again."

  • "I had reservations for 12 people and they were very accomodating and seated us on time! I was so appreciative of their services. I will definitely be back again for their food and service."

  • "Ive been a patron of Fogo de Chao for years. The food is always delicious and the staff is always helpful and friendly. My only negative comment would be the tables and the space in between them. Throughout my dinner on Friday, my guest and I were continuously bumped into by both other patrons and employees."

  • "Food was top notch, service is just awesome, and the variety of food and salad bar is expansive. Will go again for special occasions only, it's too pricey to just go by yourself or with friends."

  • "Great DineLA menu. Lots of people on a Thursday night. Staff handled the masses well."

  • "I hope it was just a fluke that we had to stand around for 40 minutes and wait even though we made a reservation two weeks in advance."

  • "My friends and I saw Fogo De Chao on Dine LA list and we got really excited because we like to eat here regularly. While we were dining, the guys came by with the steaks (as usual). When the filet guy came, we all asked for a slice. To our DISAPPOINTMENT, he said to us "Filet is only for the REGULAR MENU. Not the Dine LA menu." We also asked for the beef ribs (which is our favorite) and the waiter said the exact same thing. Also, we asked for our check and waited about 30min because the waiter messed up on our check. It's sad because my friends and I were a big fan of this restaurant before this Dine LA experience and now, I don't know if I will ever go back."

  • "It was my first time trying this place and although we had a reservation at 9, we were not seated until around 9:45PM. When we were seated, the waiter was very nice about discussing the menu and the whole experience. When the food came, most of it was absolutely delicious. The ribs however, were dry and somewhat burnt. At least now, the next time I go eat there, I know not to eat too much salad."

  • "I've been coming to Fogo for DineLA for years now...in my opinion, it's the best deal out there. This last time, however, I was surprised and disappointed to learn that there was a "special" menu for people choosing the dineLA option. In the past, dineLA gave you access to the full menu at basically $30 off the full price. Now, the menu they serve to dineLA guests is basically scrap meat, making it completely not worth the deal. When I inquired as to why they made the change, they told me that it just wasn't possible to continue providing such a great deal. I find it hard to believe that giving $30 off to customers for 2 weeks a year is really going to put them under. Either way, they've lost a customer in me."

  • "It used to be that when you went to Fogo during DineLA you would get the whole shebang for the special price of $45, including dessert. Then the dessert was dropped. And now, the premium cuts are no longer available (don't worry you can still get Picanha!). The regular price menu is still available (which is a mere $12 more) with the whole parade of meats which adds on the lamb chops, top sirloin, and costela (the "almost secret-ask a gaucho" beef shortrib which is my fave). But with meat prices what they are these days, I can't say that I really hold it against them. As always very delicious and very filling."

  • "Reservation for 8:30pm on a Tuesday night. Arrived at 8:25pm to a line that snaked out the door and into the parking lot. Surely this line must be for the fools who didn't think to make a reservation... but upon asking a few of them and even the hostess, discovered the line was in fact for parties WITH reservations. 10 minutes later, after we finally got to the front of the line, the hostess told us it'd be another 25-30 minutes before we'd be seated. Why take reservations if you can't seat your guests at their specified reservation time? To make matters worse, during the first 20 minutes after we were seated, only 3 servers came by our table. This pattern continued for the duration of our time there. Good food but horrible service."

  • "I usually LOVE coming to this place to eat, but unfortunately, because of Dine in LA, service was HORRIBLE!!!! My girlfriend's and I had our cards on green ALL night and only had just about 4-5 slices of meat. I had even called our waiter to ask him if we can get some meat on our plates and still, NOTHING happened. I was greatly disappointed with the service and for it being the first time for my girlfriend's, they were not very happy with this place at all. Even after saying, "Excuse me," not one server would turn around and offer us meat. We were being ignored the ENTIRE night! Tables literally next to us were being served and our table was constantly missed! HORRIBLE!"

  • "The servers took forever serving us meat. We had to ask the employees to send them over. Our waiter wasnt very nice and practically threw the check on the table with a brief "thank you." We took advantage of dinela at several restaurants and this was by far the worst meal we had. The tables around us with full plates kept getting served several times while we sat with one order of dry chicken. For the reputation this place has and the price we paid it wasn't worth going."

  • "Hey heard about this place for many years and finally tonight using DineLA.com I was able to try it. To be honest M Grill's food was better quality and this place was pretty good but I'd still go to M Grill over this place. However being the first Hot Spot for a Brazilian Steakhouse, I give it credit and say try this place first. But you be the judge!"

  • "The entrance is amazing. I was surprised that it was very kid friendly. Sometimes the type of food and atmosphere would not lend itself to being good for children but kids seemed to like it."

  • "DineIn La is suppose to be a time where restaurant lower their price to attract customers. Fogo changed their dineIn la menu to only serve you 10 of their menu selection and for an up charge they will provide you the rest of the menu which are the best meats on the menu. I was forced to pay the extra $20 to get what I actually came there for. While waiting for our menus only the best from the top 10 kept going around. I felt cheated and extremely disappointed."

  • "We received very poor service this evening when normally when we dine there, we usually get excellent service. Of the notable problems was that it took our waiter several trips and over 30 minutes to get an order of Guarana for one of our guests. It wasn't exactly a difficult task and despite several reminders, we had to complain to the management and the only thing they could say to us was that "oh, we're just really busy because of DineLA event." That really shouldn't affect your service performance just because you have a full house."

  • "Although the food was good, there was no direction in what to do or how to obtain the food. There is a process to this resteraunt so make sure to brush up in the procedure before attending. We received no direction and had to ask our neighboring table what to do. Once the procedure was explained, my husband had to ask three different servers before we received the requested portion of the menu. It was very loud and very crowded... Would not recommend for a date night."

  • "My group of 5 dined here during DineLa. I knew to have lower expectations; there's only so much a restaurant can do to accomodate the influx of hundreds of additional diners. We waited ~20 minutes after our reservation time to get a table. Tables were very cramped together. Our next-table neighbors commented that they'll never come here again during DineLA. The salad bar was very good and restocked frequently. The waiters came by with sticks of meat at a reasonable frequency. Quality of meat may be lower than during regular times though. The hostesses were very gracious; making sure everything was fine. They even helped recommend nearby dessert places. We waited ~30 minutes for our check and to pay."

  • "Went there during 2014 LA Restaurant Week. High hopes and expectations!!! We were told the menue would be regular but that wasn't the case. They had a selected menu for Dine LA diners of which my party and I couldn't eat. We spoke with the server and. No luck! We spoke with who seemed to be a manager and they assured us that was okay we would be able to eat the other meats but the servers kept avoiding us. We sat for 30+ minutes at one point with no service - no meat and our server no where to be seen. Very disappointed especially when planning and taking out our newly wed friends!"

  • "overall meat quality was very disappointing and did not meat my expectation. According to my friends who came here once for their regular menue package, they confirmed that the food would be better if we had gone for regular menue."

  • "The food was good but the environment was terrible. It was overcrowded and it was difficult to get to your table. You had to squeeze through chairs just to sit back down. They should have taken some tables out so that people could walk with some space. Service was okay. Nothing great. One woman was very nice and helped my girlfriend out with finding a place for her purse."

  • "I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Service wise I would say it's a 50/50. The guy manager is always nice and welcoming and also the ladies manager that always comes around to check on customer is always helpful and friendly. This time during LA Dine In we were served by a really rude server. He gave us bad attitude when we asked for help, and he try to ignore us most of the time and try not to give eye contact. I usually come to dine at fogo even during there normal days which isn't special price. But during LA Dine in I try to come in at least one time to try and get a good deal. But this time around was so disappointing... Not just bad service, but always meat was tough. And they limit the meat selection, bad choice to come."

  • "The best churrascaria in LA, with outstanding meat offerings and an enticing buffet of side dishes. A deservedly hot spot for holidays and for personal celebratory events. The long waits, despite reservations, are tedious due to lack of sit-down areas outside of the bar."

  • "Visited for the first time because of DineLa and because a lot of people say great things about the restaurant. We arrived 15 minutes early and they were kind of enough accommodate us. Were we sat was very cramped. My chair was constantly getting hit throughout the night. Salad Bar - Wide variety of foods and cheeses. Roasted garlic and Jalapeno mixed with vegetables were amazing. Big slices of smoked salmon. Picanha - BEST meat of the night! Very juicy and very tender. Alcatra - Kind of dry and not a lot of flavor Fraldinha - Dry and lacking flavor Cordeiro - 2nd best of the night. Linguica - Too salty Costela de Porco - Very dry. Lombo - Very dry Frango - Dry and chicken lacked flavor I do not recommend this restaurant"

  • "My experience at Fogo De Chao was overall positive, but I found the meat a bit salty for my taste. I ended up drinking about 4-5 glasses of water! The self-serve salad bar was good but nothing spectacular or memorable. Most of the items in the salad bar were not labeled as well. It was worth a one-time experience but I can't say I would pay $60 for another meal that left me in more pain than pleasure (some of that is my fault of course lol)"

  • "To be succinct, the food we tasted was good, but regrettably, we did not get to try very much. There was a distinct feeling we had while dining of being unimportant. During our almost three decades of dining out, this, unfortunately, ranked among the most disappointing of all. Lamentably, we can't figure out why."

  • "We went for dine la week which granted, I know can get busy. We had reservations and arrived on time only to be told it would be a 25 minute wait. We waited for about 30 minutes and went to check on the reservation and was told that we still had to wait to be seated. After seeing countless groups with large amounts of people get seated while we quietly waited for our table of two we decided to leave. Upon getting our car we explained to the valet that we were not able to get seated and that we wanted to talk to the manager about not paying. The manager walked up and she immediately had an attitude, was very rude and threwarding a dollar in our car. Needless to say we won't make it back here any time soon."

  • "I must say I knew what I was getting into, but Fogo was surely more indulgent than I anticipated. The host staff was very pleasant in confirming reservations and getting us seated. The servers were brisk, but catered to our needs and kept our plates full of food. Some of the meats were over-seasoned and over-cooked, but give it another try to get a good cut you'll like."

  • "My group of 8 friends and myself had a wonderful dining experience at Fogo de Chao for my birthday dinner. We opted for the DineLA menu which allowed us to save about $20 off the regular price. We had a variety of meat to choose from even though we were restricted from ordering certain meats. The hot bar and salad bar also provided enough choices for other types of food for those who didn't want to just binge on meat."
    Dined on 7/14/2014
  • "This year's DineLA experience wasn't all that great, I felt service was a bit off from years prior and the menu was shortened as well which was disappointing. The meats didn't seemed to be cooked properly as compared to previous visits as well."
    Dined on 7/14/2014
  • "I've been here several times before, first time for LA DINE WEEK. The meat served was definitely lower quality than usual, serves passed tables without stopping, bad wait service. I saw at least 5 sausage skewers pass right by me and no one even offered, until i asked for it. Picanha wasn't served fresh, instead it was served in "whole pieces", meaning the big pieces that cant be sliced anymore, or just coated in garlic. Salad bar was disappointing, with a lot less options. It did feel a lot like they cut corners to cater for LA DINE WEEK. I would not go back if this had been my first experience with brazilian bbq."
