Flyte World Dining & Wine
New Flyte has taken off! This is my third visit to Flyte; others being 2008 and 2010. The only this that is similar is the building. My party had the 6 course fixed price menu. The local food sources coupled with a new chef's creativity created a most unexpected and delicious adventure.
Maggie our server was most knowledgable and attentive. The only negative is that we happened to hit band night at the bar. Despite sitting well away from the bar area a business diner where work was coupled with dining would have been a challenge. I would definitely return when a band was not entertaining.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBeyond ExpectationsFirst, this was the best service we have had in a very long time; the server was attentive, knowledgeable and nice. The food was wonderful. We went in thinking the food would be good and the service normal. Not the case. It was all top-notch. Having only been in Flyte for Happy Hours I was not expecting much- I was wrong. This place is under-rated. We will recommend and eat here again!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSo Glad We Tried This Restaurant!!!The Halibut is the dish to order!! I never believed that serving a piece of fish on top of a mish mash of beans, kale greens, and cornbread would be as good as it was. I guess that's why they call it fusion! I would highly recommend this place to anyone.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful evening!Enjoyed a lovely dinner with family and friends. Menu has changed since a lot on the last year. There are some quirky items on the menu that like fried pis ears but if that rocks your boat, I am confident they are well made. Service was great, food was delicious, nice portion sizes and a very nice wine list. Menu and wines are on the pricey side but it was a very pleasant pampered experience overall. Will come back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceWe have been wanting to try Flyte for a while now and finally were able to. They did not disappoint. The service was perfect and the food was phenomenal. Can't wait to go back.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceI was in Nashville for a conference. Another gentlemen from the conference (from New York) said he heard of this restuarant from a co worker. Excellent food, great wine, and a great conversation with our British bartender / server. He set the atmosphere for a very enjoyable dinner. It was a refreshing experience to have a bartender that was living up to the tradition "the bartender knows all". His knowledge of the food, spirits and our conversations on religion politics history ect... I will recommend to all with a side note to try to get a seat at the bar;)5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMRevival of a TreasureTrendy spot for inventive drinks & exquisite tastes in fine dining!
Overlook the ugly neighborhood & slip into a lovely experience with excellent flavor combinations & pleasant, intimate dining. Very nice party room or small intimate tables. We loved their fish dishes, split both; my favorite was the Ono! Free valet parking, excellent service inside & out!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLittle bits of perfectionNot the first time at Flyte and this was wonderful as we have come to expect. The food, superb- I had the lyonnaise salad, delicious, the flavor a perfect. My husband had the cauliflower agnoloitti which tasted like some perfectionist Italian had created, best pasta imaginable! My husband had the chicken breat and I had the pork loin for our main and oth were excellent. Now just one flag the serving portions are small. However the small portions mean that you can eat three course and enjoy each bite without leaving like you need to loosen the top button of your pants. So yes we had dessert! I had the dreamisicle cheesecake & my husband had the "it's summer somewhere" both were beautifully presented and to die for.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFound out about this restaurantFound out about this restaurant through my community supported agriculture (CSA) organization. My farmer supplies food to this restaurant. Love the fact that most of the food prepared is local. We did the nine course tasting menu with wine pairing. What a treat!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA fantastic meal and experience,A fantastic meal and experience, as always at Flyte.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAmusement park for the palate!Flyte is a restaurant for food and wine lovers by food and wine lovers. Todd, our waiter, carefully and enthusiastically explained the wine list and menu making our choices that much easier. Diverse elements/ingredients artfully combined from appetizer through dessert pleased my palate and filled me up. It was a pricey evening ($200 for two diners) but an incredible dining experience to be remembered.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMBeing seated with a kitchenBeing seated with a kitchen view provided great entertainment as we watched the highly professional and remarkably calm chefs and staff in action. Our waiter had superb, spot-on recommendations for wine pairings. Very tasty, interesting food combinations, artistically presented. Fine dining at its best in Nashville.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service. Waitstaff gaveGreat service. Waitstaff gave great suggestions. Wonderful food!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for special occasion!Fantastic meal, great service and amazing experience. I took my husband there for his 40th birthday and I wanted a special atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the hostess was polite, the bartender was attentive, and our waiter literally talked us through every item on the menu (the spicy pigs ears are a must). They also let us sit in a lovely corner table after we requested it. I recommend trying a flyte of the wine to sample some of their amazing flavors, and also try some of their "soft" nonalcoholic cocktails if you're not able to drink. Save room for dessert, but don't worry, the portions are managable and it's all about the taste versus getting "stuffed". An A+ experience!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMwent for our anniversary, went for our anniversary, and were seated right away - wasn't too crowded for a Saturday night. convinced my wife to go with the 6 course chef's choice meal, and he picked 3 of the dishes we would have ordered anyway - food was very good, imaginative combinations of local ingredients. Waiter (Scott) doubled as our sommelier, and his recommendation for the 2nd bottle was spot on with our tastes.
We also spotted a couple of celebrities who are filming a movie here (hint - we were only 1 degree of separation from Kevin Bacon), which made for an interesting evening.
Would definitely recommend for nice, romantic evening.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI visit Flyte at least 3 timesI visit Flyte at least 3 times a year, and every visit is an awesome dining experience. The staff is always attentive and polite. The food is amazing. Whether you choose to sit in the bar or restaurant area, the level of service is always top notch. I highly recommend Flyte.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Nashville's best restaurantsI'm never disappointed at Flyte -- the food is always perfectly prepared, fresh and flavorful, with local, seasonal ingredients and relative simplicity (but complex and interesting enough that I would ever think, "oh, I could do this at home just as well"!). The 3-course prix fixe menu (which I think is not stated on the menu but is available if you ask for it) is a great deal. Everyone at my table had something different, and we all liked what we had so much we almost didn't want to share! Oh, and the service is friendly and attentive, without being cloying. The wine list is extensive, with lots of wines available by the glass (and half-glass)- all good quality and broad price range. Definitely one of Nashville's top 5 restaurants!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMake sure when you go to FlyteMake sure when you go to Flyte you have plenty of time for dinner. You don't want to have to leave to get somewhere after, otherwise you'll miss out on a lot of deliciousness, but also be hungry. The menu is designed to order many things. Since we had a show to get to, we didn't have time to enjoy all Flyte had to offer.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOur group of 6 experiencedOur group of 6 experienced flawless service, a wonderful and eclectic menu, and a surprisingly enjoyable experience in the room with the view of the kitchen staff.
Excellent evening at Flyte.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe did not leave a crumb behind.Great food and service. Lamb sausage, scallop, cauliflower ravioli and oyster mushroom soup were all fantastic. ALL the desserts were incredible. Our server helped us pick out a great wine for my (very) picky wife. We'll be back!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAppetizers, Mains and DessertsAppetizers, Mains and Desserts were all unique and excellent.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe got excellent service andWe got excellent service and the food was really good. We celebrated two birthdays, and they brought us all champagne. This is the only restaurant that ever called in advance to find out if anyone needed a special diet or had other food requirements. We were very impressed with the attention before and during our meal. We will go back.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA Nashville StarMy wife's favorite restauraunt in Nashville. Adventurous menu and great service. Superb wine list. We take a chance on something unfamiliar every time and are always delighted!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI can't say enough good thingsI can't say enough good things about my meal at Flyte!! I was in Nashville for work and I just wish I could've brought the Flyte team home with me! The food, service, and wine selections were outstanding from start to finish!! I will definitely be back anytime I'm in Nashville again.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic, playful food withFantastic, playful food with many local and seasonal ingredients. Service is knowledge and attentive without being overbearing. Always a pleasure.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccable service. DeliciousImpeccable service. Delicious locally sourced foods. A magnificent gastronomic experience. We did small hot and cold plates, which provided perfect portions and variety. Fabulous wines. Couldn't have had a better meal.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFlyte was an excellent choiceFlyte was an excellent choice for a romantic night out with the hubs. We ate at the bar (they offered the full menu!) because we needed to eat earlier than our initial reservation. Great choice! The duck was absolutely divine (I ordered three course chef's choice). DH had the pork chop. He ordered it with no pink and it was a little dry, but the carrots were scrumptious. We loved it and will recommend it to our Nashville friends.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFlyte consistently soarsNoting in my reservation notes that we would be on a rare date-night & would prefer an intimate table if possible, we were met with a WONDERFUL cozy, corner booth that I easily could have curled up in after dinner for hours had it not been closing time! The Beverage Director, Doc Downs, has always had an amazing attention to detail & not only remembered it was my birthday (I had not noted this when making the reservation) but had taken the liberty of informing their pastry Chef (Tony) as well. Tony so sweetly brought us a sampling of his favorite items & told us all about them (they were delicious!). Flyte has been quietly & consistently raising the bar on the Nashville dining scene for almost a decade now & hopefully many more to come!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat menuService was wonderful menu was great, I had the NY strip steak, it came with nice vegatables, but the steak was in three pieces didnt say that on the menu, very tough, two pieces were actually charred on one side and the third was the largest with no charring and was actually cold. Have to try something else next time. The Cauliflower Soup was wonderful2/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
