A word from Flying Sumo Sushi
The Flying Sumo serves fresh, creative sushi just off of Main Street Park City, next to the Town Lift. The warm and casual atmosphere is highlighted by a large sushi bar. Creative and unique sushi rolls are The Flying Sumo’s specialty. Popular favorites include the explosive flavored Mars Attacks (Inside out roll with lemon, crab and shrimp, topped w/ tuna, avocado, wasabi mayo, shishito peppers, tobiko and eel sauce), the Super Bueno Roll (tempura yam, cucumber, avocado and tuna, rolled in cilantro and tobiko with sriracha), and the Surf & Turf Roll (steak and crab rolled and tempura fried, served with funky and eel sauces). The Flying Sumo also serves more traditional sushi and sashimi, along with many unique cooked entrees and small plates from the kitchen (check out the Tokyo Nachos!). Wine, beer and sake are also available.
If you are looking for a memorable sushi experience with some of the most creative rolls anywhere, look no further than The Flying Sumo.

Diner Reviews
  • "Flying Sumo is the best sushi in Park City for the value. They have great deals and it is quick and the servers actually smile and like you to be there. Off-season they do a 1/2 off sushi rolls which makes this place hands down the only place I will eat sushi in Park City!!! Very kid friendly which makes a huge difference to me."

  • "The sushi here is very good. Some innovative rolls. My only suggestion would be for them to get a liquour license. We had folks in our party who wished they could have a cocktail with their dinner. They have beer and wine - limited options."

  • "The food is always great..and always a great experience. Just be sure to be there on time as we lost our table and had to wait a bit longer. Not a big deal, it was on us. Get the Nachos..and the Spicy Dagon or Mars Attacks roll. Awesome food!"

  • "We love the Sushi at Flying Sumo and will probably visit again before the end of our vacation. Service was terrific and the food was wonderful. Even better, the prices are reasonable - always a good thing!"

  • "We were in Park City for our annual family ski trip. My daughter was celebrating her 8th birthday while on our trip and her choice for her birthday dinner was sushi. We had done the exact same thing last year, however the sushi place we picked was not very good. This trip we asked around before making reservations and people told us to try Flying Sumo Sushi. It did not disappoint. Everything was delicious and it was exactly what my daughter wanted! We all enjoyed it - even our 10-yr old daughter who is not really a sushi fan! The service was great and it was a wonderful evening. Thanks so much! We will see you March 2015!!"

  • "Tokyo Nachos are a must try!! The non-sushi lovers in our group loved the Yakisoba Noodles!"

  • "We had a group of 6 guys and ate till we were stuffed. Fantastic food and the service was excellent. Was recommended by the Marriottt Mountainside and we would go there again anytime!!! The price was half that of two other excellent restaurants we ate at over the weekend and we all liked it the best. Highly recommend it if you are a sushi lover."

  • "We had a large group of 16 and I'm sure were the loudest table at the restaurant. That being said, the menu was very enticing and offered a large variety of rolls and other items. The jalapeno poppers were out of this world! Most of us even tried the "ghost sauce"! Our waitress was less than excited about our large group, getting our order, and keeping our water filled. She seemed a bit annoyed at any request we made. We usually give more than 20% tip for such a large party but just didn't feel it was justified that evening. Thank you for taking our reservation and presenting such beautiful food that was excellent to the pallet!"

  • "We had an excellent dinner at Flying Sushi. We sat at the bar and Chef Bruno served us excellent combinations of sushi that weren't on the menu. His creations were superb and many were the best sushi we've ever had. I highly recommend sitting at the bar and conversing with your Chef... ask for Bruno if possible."

  • "The food was so good, we didn't want to stop. Very good behind the sushi bar (Bruno was awesome). A little slow on the things from the kitchen and drinks, but it was quite crowded. Everything overall was awesome, though."

  • "We arrived at 7:30 and all the help could talk about is getting out of there. No eye contact from chef, people were trying to get help to pay bill nobody seemed to care. The restaurant was not busy at all, felt like we got bad service."

  • "The water tasted of dead fish. The edamame and sushi rolls were fine, but all the other food dreadful. We were sad as previous year we had one of the best meals here."

  • "When we were shown to our table i asked if we could have a quieter table The girl seating us said she would check the desk, we sat at the table waiting for her to get back to us which she never did. Our waiter ignored us for 15 minutes talking to the girls up front as we waited to order drinks. when he finally came i asked if he had any recommendations He pointed to the menu & said "all the rolls on this page are fine." all of the rolls on that page where the most expensive & completely different from each other. he then walked away & didn't come back for our order for another 15 min. I have never felt more ignored & like i am in the way at a restaurant before. The food was fine. We have had better. I would never recommend flying sumo."

  • "We got a great value when visiting Flying Sumo in the summer. It's a little of Main Street, so less traffic meant quieter restaurant. Staff was attentive and prompt. We had amazing sushi nachos and then there was a special 2-for-1 roll offer on several of their offerings. Add that to good wine.... it was a great night!"

  • "Excellent sushi, fun venue with chic decor and lively ambience. Service was great, sushi made it to the table in a reasonable amount of time."

  • "For almost 8 years now we have been dining at Flying Sumo everytime we are in Park City. Although the food has always been outstanding, I felt the atmosphere was lacking. Perhaps due to staff and managerial changes, hopefully that's all it is. Hope that next time we are there it will be different."

  • "Good sushi find for Park City since we were visiting from Chicago. Went with a group of 7 and were seated immediately using OpenTable. After dinner we were able to walk directly into Lindzee O' Michaels to continue the night. Gave the sushi nachos a whirl (only get 5 pieces) but they were super awesome. Our group ended up loving the Red Dragon and ordered 3 of them."
