  • Public Transit: The South Lake Union Street Car runs every 15 minutes, 6am to 9pm Sunday thru Thursday, and 6am to 11pm Friday and Saturday.

  • Parking Details: Parking is available in our building. The rates are variable during the day and just $5 after 4pm. To use the garage enter the alley between Westlake and Terry from Harrison. Our garage entrance is immediately on your right as you enter the alley.

  • "This used to be one of my favorites, started going when it was located in Belltown. Since moving to SLU, and since the original chef sold the business, it just is not the same. I'd say it's a safe place for a business dinner or for when you can't get a reservation anywhere else, but certainly not something I'd seek out. "

  • "We attanded this restraurant on a Sunday evening which was a lot less busy than our normal Saturday. All four of the dinners found the food to be of good quality and the service very friendly and attentive. The wine list is rather limited but adequate. All in all a good but not great restaurant in an up and comming area of Seattle."

  • "I found Flying Fish by googling "Best seafood in Seattle". It was great. We enjoyed the happy hour (raw oysters @ $1 each, soft shelled crabs and calamari). The margarita and martini were perfect. Dinner was the Bouilibase (sp) and it was just so-so. The squid ink was not tasty or attractive. A traditional tomato base would be better. The whole fried Rockfish, however was amazing. I turned into a raging beast eating the bones and sucking on what I couldn't swallow. Good thing we didn't know anyone there - could be embarrassing. Walked away happy. We will return the next time we visit your town."

  • "My first time to this restaurant. Lots of fish selections to tempt the tastebuds and a couple good non-fish items for those in the group. I thought my salmon was cooked perfectly and the meal, in-general, was outstanding. Nice wine selection. The service was great as well. I did think the pricing was a bit high for the portion size however. I realize there is a bit of artistry in plating but I'd have preferred a few more potatoes and asparagus with the entre, especially since salads were ala carte."

  • "The fish tacos arrive on a large plate with perfectly grilled and spiced pieces of salmon, black cod and halibut, handmade corn tortillas, fresh guac, marinated jicama, and some delicious bean condition. My dining partner and I both ordered smalls and were stuffed. I am glad I didn't order a large because I would have eaten like a goldfish. The host and waiter were both very friendly and attentive. I will definitely go back to try some of their other offerings."

  • "The service was good. The $12 glass of wine, not very good. The $28 small piece of halibut was dry. The $12 Caesar salad was bitter. I eat out a lot and love food and love to cook. I do not understand why fish has to be dry and so expensive. The wine I ordered cost around $12 a bottle, do they really expect to sell it for $48 (4 glasses from a bottle) and think that is fair. Usually it is twice what it is retail and I get that, but this is ridiculous. And, no I did not complain because I was with friends and did not want to make a scene. Sad that more people, including me, don't complain. I guess we do because we don't go back."

  • "We have been to Flying Fish a few times now and always get the salt and peppered wok fired crab. It Is absolutely delicious (and fun to eat). We also had the crispy calamari this time which was wonderful with very tasty dipping sauces. This was our anniversary dinner for which we took the train from Portland to have. Well worth it! We will return and always tell our friends they have to go."

  • "This was a recommend by a friend. Gave it a try with out of town guests. The food was unique with fabulous blends coming together. Appreciated the different seafood offerings, not the typical northwest fair. Our server was very sweet but a bit over attentive to the point of disruptive, but not to the point of spoiling the evening. Easy $4 parking right across the street. Truthfully, I look forward to going again!"

  • "We had a great dinner, with excellent service and great food. The mahi mahi was wonderful. The only downside....my dining companions didn't like the lemon and lavender creme brulee. Otherwise, the dinner was great!"

  • "My girlfriend and I went their to celebrate our birthdays and it was absolutely spectacular! I had the albacore with risotto which melted in my mouth. The light sauce was such a perfect complement and I practically inhaled it. My girlfriend ordered the fish tacos and the presentation was so lovely we laughed out loud! We expected tacos wrapped in paper but we got a silver tray that made even this light lunch version feel like a banquet. NOTE: She ordered the small size of tacos and it was still plenty. She couldn't finish it! Our waitress gave us excellent wine advice and I sort of regretted not ordering dessert. I guess I will have to come back!"

  • "I've had 2 good experiences at this restaurant before. On Feb 27th, I went in with my friend for lunch and everything was just okay. Neither of us really thought our meals were anything special. On the contrary my friend said he wouldn't go back there. I had the grilled chicken sandwich because I've had it before and remember thinking "this is the best chicken sandwich I've ever eaten." Unfortunately on this day, it was just plain and nothing special at all. All and all, I felt like I could've gotten the same sandwich at the Seattle Center food court for half the price."

  • "This restaurant used to be good. It had my favorite happy hour, and the food was always delicious. It was sold sometime rather recently. The menu has changed dramatically; the fantastic fried chicken is gone, as are the awesome appetizers. I had the worst fish tacos that I have ever had. The fish was dry and overcooked. It appeared to me that the whole dish was microwaved to reheat the food. The crab cakes were mostly bread and flavorless. The best thing on the table was the bread. It was also very expensive. Top flight charges for poor food is a bad combination. Avoid it - Seattle has so many fantastic restaurants."

  • "My husband and I had a lovely date night at Flying Fish Seattle recently. It was a Saturday but not too busy, so we could converse easily. He had monkfish which was succulent, with great mushrooms. I had seared tuna which was very good, though you need to like it very rare! The rice was called "grapefruit infused" though I didn't notice anything special, pretty much my only complaint. For dessert we had poached quince which was really yummy and they substituted coconut sorbet since I am avoiding dairy, which was appreciated. Very nice meal and a pretty good deal for high quality food and service."

  • "Superb food, a bit on the expensive side (Valentine's day). Service was weak: professional but slow, inattentive and forgetful. We were seated on time, but the initial order was a long wait. Our wine (and water) was empty for nearly 15 minutes midway through dinner. Would have ordered another bottle, but opted for a glass instead. When it finally came (with dessert and the bill), it was not drinkable (oxidized, open too long) but nobody came by for another 10 minutes so we just paid. Waiter forgot our coffee ordered with dessert. Would not suggest this place for a holiday event although another night might be better. Penty of staff and not all tables were full, so we couldn't understand why we weren't attended to better. Good atmosphere."

  • "Planned a great valentines dinner and heard this place was pretty good. Overall cost for two people to have dinner (just the Valentines day 4 course) was $230. I would be ok with spending this amount of money if the service was excellent and the food was something to write home about. Both were average. After leaving I thought WOW, that was a $80 meal I just spent $230 on. Maybe great for any other day meals but not for a special occasion."

  • "The best seafood I've ever had on the West Coast! And the best dining between San Francisco and Vancouver BC. Be prepared to spend $80 per plate with drinks and dessert, but it is well worth it, the perfect place for an anniversary or birthday dinner. Jacket and tie are not required. (It is Seattle after all.) But you will want to dress up a little. The food is so good you will want to look your best! Check out Happy Hour for great cocktails and the best Calamari you've ever tasted."

  • "I haven't been to Flying Fish since it was in Bell Town. Not the same in any respect. A mandatory New Year's Eve tasting menu at $75 per person fell apart after the salad course with overcooked, fishy salmon and uninspired sauces and sides. This used to be a very innovative restaurant so we were sorry to see that has now gone away, replaced with a very slick (beautiful) interior but not much attention paid to the food. Service was very good."

  • "When I searched for a restaurant in Seattle for our girl trip we had to find something for everyone. Someone wanted seafood, one wanted organic/sustainability awareness and gurantee, another wanted a couple meat and salad options so we were limited. Flying Fish was all of those and more. The service was superb, the food was mouth watering and the ambiance was just what we needed for a good visit. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!"

  • "Food preparations are imaginative & can be tasty. BUT. Coordination has become poor. On two visits , now, some hot dishes were served cold and not really edible . Some orders never turned up. They need to get their act together or else a once fine restaurant will go down the tubes! They are right on the cusp."

  • "Great happy hour! Had the calamari ($7) Radicchio Braeburn salad ($6) Fried oyster Caesar salad ($6) Lemon drop ($6), needed a bit more simple syrup. Main course: Linguini. Small portion for pasta. Has shrimp, chorizo, mushrooms, and sauce that I can't recall the ingredients. I ordered without mushrooms, came with mushrooms, and the whole dish had a "tastes like a barnyard smells" flavor. I'm not sure what cheese they may or may not have used in the sauce, but I didn't like that and the chorizo had a weird flavor as well. I thought it might have been lamb, but asked and it was pork. ($23) Fried chicken. Comes with 3 pieces. Thigh, leg and breast. Skin was very flavorful, large portion. Came with mashed potatoes and green beans. ($23)"

  • "We dined at Flying Fish after a commute from Portland to Seattle. My companion had fond memories the mussels with Thai dipping sauce at Flying Fish and had suggested we visit. We were not disappointed. The mussels were fresh and tender. The sauce was the perfect mixture of salt, sweet and spice. We also tried on our wait person's suggestion the miso cod and the fried oyster caesar salad. The cod was perfect as well; however, the fried oysters were a bit overdone for our liking. Nothing just a bit more care in the kitchen could not easily correct. We topped it off with a wonderful pumpkin seed cheesecake and brittle along with the port taster selection. All in all we were very pleased with the evening."
