Fluke Wine Bar and KitchenGet the Oysters!We were so glad we took the recommendation of a friend familiar with Newport -- my husband and I were SO impressed with the quality of the local seafood at this place. I started with the lightly fried oysters ... I forgot for that night that I am not generally a fan of oysters. They were outstanding. My husband started with the equally fantastic calamari. Both of us applauded the local fish we had for entrees. For dessert, we had the butterscotch bread pudding and dessert wines. Together with the lovely view of the sea at sunset, we could not have been happier. Thanks to our server for her spot-on recommendations. If you're very hungry, it's not a good choice. EVERYTHING is small, even the entrees. The small plates should really be re categorized into "mini plates" and "microscopic plates" but if you're ok with having one or two bites of something, you're in for a great. Prices are too high for the quantities, especially with all of the competition in close proximity. Management could not have been more accommodating - called restaurant where we were supposed to be and switched our reservations for us. Food was excellent and all of our servers were delightful, knowledgeable, and provided outstanding service throughout our meal - we had wanted to come back on Sunday night, but restaurant was closed so management gave us the names and phone numbers of 4 other restaurants in town they thought we would enjoy - all in all a most pleasant experience for our long weekend in Newport.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food in a nice atmosphereVery good food in a nice atmosphere. The Atlantic reddish was phenomenal and all of the appetizers and sides were perfect and great portions for sharing. The food was great, the service was great, the view was lovely, the place in general was romantic. We later went upstairs to the bar which was vibrant and friendly.
