great food, blasting sound system,had two deff. pastas which were outstanding. also a great asparagus appetizer, and 2 deff. desserts. Met our expectations. Will return. Had to ask waitstaff to turn down the sound system and as could not hear each other but had no problem hearing the loud guy across the way who was yelling over the sound. It was good, service was great. Our server offered us a taste of a few wines before we made our selection. We had the butter lettuce salad, pasta with mussels, pizza with prosciutto and the budino for dessert. The salad was not a regular feature on their menu - it was very fresh served with peas and pecorino cheese. Pasta was ok but nothing special. I preferred the pizza. A friend told me I had to get the budino for dessert - it's good- chocolate and sea salt but very rich. Wine list is authentically Italian - a good list. The pasta was extraordinary as well but the highlight of the evening (besides our waitress Katy) was the chocolate "pudding" with the espresso cream and sea salt. Wow. I highly suggest their pasta tasting menu (a 7 courses journey with one apetizer, 5 pastas and one desert). OpenTable has been great to book our table (eventhough we had to book 3 months in advance :D). Every item on the winter tasting menu was mind-blowing; our favorites were the pappardelle with pork trotter and the ham fattisu with whole-grain mustard. The sauce on every dish was so good that we cleaned it off the plates with the house bread.
We are both big eaters and this was our first experience, so we were concerned about being full at the end, but the dishes are more filling than they look and the portion size increased for the last two dishes. We went home pleasantly stuffed.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
