  • Private Party Facilities: Florio features a small, curtained private dining room that seats 8 only. The room features two seatings per evening- 6pm and 8:30pm. No special menu required. Please call for details.
    Furthermore, the entire restaurant is available for private events every day and night of the week by prior arrangement. Our intimate but lively atmosphere offers a memorable setting to celebrate any occasion. In addition, our unique combination of relaxed neighborhood location and professional service provides a refreshing alternative to the typical downtown venues for business dinners or special commemorative events. Florio offers a variety of bistro classics; a "greatest hits" of rustic cafe food- including Steak Frites and pan-roasted air-chilled Chicken.
We feature a market-to-table local fish offering daily (as available).
Simple dishes such as pan roasted King Salmon and house-made Squid Ink Tagliolini round out the comforting menu.
Veal, Pork & Ricotta meatballs are a Sunday favorite with our regulars!
Florio even makes its own gelato and sorbetto en casa!
The menu changes daily to make the most of local, seasonal, organic meat, fish, and produce.

  • "This is to Pac Heights what Mortimer's was and Swifty's now is to the Upper East Side. You will see a great cross section of the neighborhood in all age categories. Food is solid and frankly better than Mortimer's was in its heyday. The bar scene is vibrant the place glass a great buzz with nothing tacky."

We noted that most diners were trying to find something on the menu that wasn't there. This place needs an identity. What kind of food are they serving? We will not be back."

  • "It was a delightful evening for my partner's birthday. The host was perfect: accommodating, pleasant, and made us feel like welcome guests. While all of the food that we got was delicious, my halibut was absolutely stunning. It was perhaps the most perfectly piece of fish I've had this side of Portugal. Definitely a great choice for a casual but special occasion."

  • "I have eaten at Florio twice in the past month and was compelled to write this review. The overall experience was excellent. Great waitstaff, promptly seated at the time of our reservation, food was excellent. I had the seafood stew and my friend had the cheese burger. Both wonderful. I could not have enjoyed the stew more. They also have a Merry Edwards sav blanc on their wine list that is superb. I highly recommend Floria and plan to go there often. Enjoy! Jim"

  • "Sunday night is a great night to go to Florio. It has a warm and cozy feel that is perfect for an early supper. We tried the special appetizer, a delicious scallop cooked in bacon fat and topped with bacon and a micro salad. It was excellent. For an entrée we shared the chicken for two and it too was excellent. It was served with roasted carrots and brussel sprout leaves and even the brussel sprouts were good. Excellent wines (like Talbott Chardonnay) are available both by the bottle and the half bottle."

  • "I have been to this numerous times over the years, always having a great food experience. This time, we arrived at opening, so first ones seated. Ordered burrata with prosciutto. the prosciutto was so thick you could not chew it. After being served the salad, we waited at least 30 minutes for entrée, at which point we advised our waiter that we had a movie deadline. Thefilet of sole in lemon, butter sauce, was not floured, so it was dry, extremely lemony, and no sauce, just lemon juice. That said, we were also 10 minutes late for the movie. I though 90 minutes at the beginning of service would have been more than sufficient. I was very disappointed."

  • "The Fillmore/Pac. Heights: Now, it seems there are more than ever. Spouse flew in from Las Vegas for 24 hours this weekend, and I wanted her to enjoy her special dinner. I resevered at Spruce on Sacramento weeks ago, only to learn that they had a mandatory $140.00/pp price fix with an $85.00 wine pairing. That's about $500.00 and, if I'm doin that it's gonna be at French Laundry or Gary Danko, which brings me to this...FLORIO, WOW! Our bartender was slammed but you wouldn't be able to tell if you didn't have a little industry background. He was most attentive, & offered my spouse tastes of some of he wine offerings. We could tell the other guests were experiencing the same. The Mary's Chicken, & Brocollini were done to perfection!"

  • "I was very excited to try this place. I live near by and had people coming into town so I thought - Perfect! I made a reservation for Saturday at 8:30p. We were on Fillmore already but it was raining so I tried calling to move up our reservation. After no answer we decided to try our luck and just go around 8PM to see if by chance a table was available. The Host immediately cut me off. He was so rude in front of other patrons and my guests. He acted as if I was putting him out by being there. It wasn't until he saw my last name and asked if I was part of a local affluent family that his tone changed. Really? You should be nice to everyone regardless of their last name. Food was good although it was hard to enjoy anything after that."

The host, the bartender, the waiters are all seasoned professionals, friendly and genuine, attentive but not inserting themselves into your experience. You can ALWAYS count on a lovely meal, similar to some of our favorite places in France and Italy - but unlike in Europe - at Florio - all the staff are so friendly, efficient and overall terrific - they are sure to put you in a great mood. The room is generous but cozy with open kitchen. I can choose from a generous plate of pasta or their wonderful roast chicken, with well priced wines at a leisurely dinner with my husband - or a delightful composed endive salad paired with a shrimp appetizer with an ice cold Bombay Sapphire straight up with a twist with a friend at a post-work catch up. They always not only accommodate - but anticipate - with a big smile. We always leave smiling ourselves."

I would try everything on the menu if I could. A nice wine list too--glass or bottle. The bar is also fun. I was alone the last time I was there and the people and bartender were all very friendly. Go early for shopping on Fillmore before dinner. A great combination."

  • "Food was good not great. Service was not good. A knife that needed replacing because it got knocked to the floor never materialized in spite of a request to our bus boy. Since this is a European style restaurant I was anticipating European style service but was disappointed here too. The seafood stew was thin ($27). The crab ravioli were served but there were only 3 of them. In spite of also ordering first courses we left hungry. The Vietnamese sandwich restaurant Bun Mee down the street is where we headed where we got excellent food and service (grilled lemongrass pork is perfection). Wish we had gone Vietnamese instead."

  • "I have been to this place a few times and have always had a good dining experience. This time I ordered the special black cod with celeriac and roasted treviso. My partner got the crab, shrimp, ricotta ravioli. His looked beautiful and reportedly was delicious. Mine looked very unpleasant, just a dark mass of something on the plate and taste-wise was almost bitter. I kept looking at my friend's dish and wishing I had ordered that. I could not eat even half but took home the rest anyway but had to throw it out after a couple more bites at home. Sorry this is not a winning dish and I wouldn't recommend it. That being said, other items on the menu are fine. And the service is excellent."

  • "To start the Cosmopolitan was one of the smallest I've seen and the bartender was not very generous with my Scotch either. Thye Cosmo tasted good but very light on the alcohol. The food was very good but $24 for three ravioli is a little pricey I think. had the seafood soup and liked it but the mussels and clams must have just finished stage three of the Atkins Diet. They were about the size of a lima bean. Overall I left hungry with a feeling I paid too much for too little"

  • "Have been there as two and ate at the bar. Now back with five and I enjoyed it just as much in the small dinning room. I saw many couples, a few four tops, another birthday celebration (4 adults) and our party of 5. (Cocktails, wine and a fine birthday party too) dinner. Bread is outstanding. Meals were not fancy, simply cooked with fresh perfection. Service was also wonderful - to the point, friendly, quick. Small neighborhood, San Francisco cozy gem of a restaurant."
