Florida CookeryWorth the 2 hour drive! The food was seasoned to perfection. Everything had a kick to eat; nothing was bland. The oxtails was tender and tasty. Even though the Maui Maui was not extraordinarily displayed, it made up for it with the seasoning. The quail salad had lychee fruit in it and all the sweetness went so well well with the other flavors. I can go on forever with positive words about my experience because everything exceeded my expectations. It was a slow evening and I received great attention from all staff members.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate inside because it wasWe ate inside because it was quite windy when we arrived, but the outdoor patio dining area looked very nice. 24-hour marinated chicken was really tender and tasty. Service is included in the bill.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThis resturant lives up toThis resturant lives up to the hype. Perfect for foodies like us...a wonderful blend of latin and southern flavors without feeling too heavy.great salads and apps. We adored the cheese grit cakes! And wonderful fish. We recommend buying wine by the bottle...glass prices are high enough to make it well worth it. Wine list not extensive but whites were well suited to fish dishes. Watch the spice on the shrimp app! If you aren't expecting it, it will surprise you!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch was very good. TheLunch was very good. The Conch Chowder was one of the best chowders I have ever eaten.
The fish sandwich was very nicely prepared and very tasty.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOnly complaints vegetableOnly complaints vegetable side dish( Spianch & Aspargus) was under season and my Grouper was either previously frozen or just over cooked. Cevache (Grouper) was perpared very well tastey and delicious All in all every dish gets a passing grade. I will return.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, overpriced.Second visit. Food was imaginative and with great flavor. The wine was overpriced. The prices were above what you would pay in a similar restaurant of equal or better reputation. Also, valet parking was $20. Dinner for two with wine: $160. If that were $120 I would go there more frequently.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMChris Wessel does not knowChris Wessel does not know how to produce a bad meal! The place is nice but with parking at $20 + tip you will have limited success from locals. IT will become a tourist attraction (at best) and will fade into just another typical SoBe spot - too bad.
Locals are key!!!! Take care of them and they will take care of you.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe stumbled upon Florida CookeryWe stumbled upon Florida Cookery looking for a bite before a spate of parties where we were unlikely to find anything edible. Imagine our surprise when in the newly renovated Royal Palm Hotel we found a cozy spot with really good food. The chef introduced us to his mother's conch stew which was rich, flavored with curry. It was one of the best we've ever tasted. Along with a super-fresh grapefruit ceviche and pepper stuffed with heirloom tomato and goat cheese. we had a perfect pre-event meal.
We'll be back12/5/2012 12:00:00 AM
