I recently went here on a visit to San Diego for a friend's birthday and the service was outstanding. I told the hostess it was my friend's birthday and not only did they provide dessert but also provided our entire group complimentary champagne! They really went above and beyond during our dinner and we all so appreciative! I was so impressed by ambiance, the service and the food! I wished I lived in San Diego so I could come here more often!

Great energy, not too loud, with a DJ playing a fun loungy style of music. Our server was attentive and offered some specials they were running and we chose two, the Harvest Salad and the Seared Ahi...fantastic! For drinks, my girlfriend had an Agave Sour and I had their Old Fashioned, both were well balanced. Her's was nice and spicy. As we were walking out, the bartender asked how everything was, we told him how much we enjoyed the drinks, and he snagged us for another round! They have half off drinks after 9pm on thursdays. Great vibe, great deal, and a great spot.

I don't like having to move when finishing my dinner to get out of the way of the dance floor. This place is a wanna be hipster club and has no place trying to be a restaurant...

My wife and I have eaten at everything from local beach dives to a Michelin 2 Star restaurant in France, and this is one of the WORST dining experiences we've ever had! I ordered the Grilled White Sea Bass and when it arrived, it was burnt and so over cooked as to be too tough to cut with a fork. The replacement was just as bad and also sent back. The manager comped our entire meal and threw in a $50 gift certificate for a return visit - no thanks. We had been told they were short staffed, but that's no reason for burnt fish, TWICE! On 2 separate occasions, we asked the manager simple questions regarding the food, that he couldn't answer. How is it the manager of a restaurant has NO IDEA what's being plated in his kitchen? GET A CLUE!!

Good Downtown vibe. The sides were the star of the dishes. We split the Brussel Sprouts app- truly awesome and highly recommended.

The staff of Florent was welcoming and hospitable from the very beginning. There was a group of 12 of us ladies and they made sure our seating arrangement was just how we wanted it. We grabbed drinks at the bar while we waited for our table and the bartender was fast and friendly. We were seated and the server was quick to get us drink refills and let us take our time being ready to order. I was overall please with y food. The spinach salad was SO good. I also ordered the jicama sticks and brussell sprouts to share and both were VERY good. The only thing I didn't care for was the beerviche. It was creamy, which turned me off of that. Later in the night we came back for dancing and had the time of our lives! Thanks to Jared and all!!

We went on one of the busiest weekends in San Diego to celebrate my birthday. I was so pleased that they honored our reservation and despite the crowds we had a wonderful time with gracious and amazing service.

A fun Sunday brunch with great food and a great vibe.. and I ended up meeting a great group of people..! Had the duck hash and the Mimosa special. There was a DJ playing great music but not so loud that we couldn't hold a conversation. All the windows open up to bring in the summer air. Loved the food and had a blast! Will be back to try dinner menu soon.

we went to Florent expecting a "top chef" experience. the food was mediocre at best and the presentation was amature. My culinary arts students that just finished their first year in college cook better. The brie appetizer was horrible, hardly any cheese and no flavor. My duck leg confit was ok, again no presentation finesse at all. Should have checked how far the chef got on Top Chef first!

Ambiance is fantastic. The conversion from Jimmy Love's is well done. The appetizers were delicious (beet/citrus salad and Brussel sprouts). However our party of 3 each ordered different entrees, trout/duck/pork, which were a huge disappointment. The trout was so heavily seasoned with its sauce that it was no longer identifiable as trout. The duck was so salty that my son couldn't finish it. My wife's pork was over seasoned as well, which degrading the consuming experience. The kitchen needs to find the right balance so that the entrees are identifiable by taste and not covered up with sauces and seasoning that distract from the food.

Dinner menu looked interesting. Neither food nor service were good. Wait staff was friendly but poorly trained and inexperienced. The crispy pork belly salad was barely OK. Cornmeal croutons didn't belong. It was overdressed and the dressing was bland. Brussels Sprouts were way too salty and the sauce was overpowering. We had Trout and duck confit. Presentation was unbalanced in portion and taste. Everything was over or under -seasoned. None of the sides were worth eating; pea mash, celery puree and lemon risotto cakes, and roasted cauliflower. They all missed the mark and were tepid when served. Hopefully the bar scene hops later in the evening because this fails as a restaurant. It will never make it with the competition downtown.

I dined here last Saturday for my birthday dinner and was very impressed with everything! The food was really unique and tasty, service was great considering it's a brand new restaurant. The scene was very cool and trendy. There is a club downstairs and so u can enjoy a night of dancing after dinner. I'll definitely be back!
