A word from Flora
Chef/owner Bob Sargent creates menus drawing on American classics with French and Italian influences. Many of his dishes include seasonal vegetables and local foods, especially seafood and farm products.

We hit Flora for RW & the service, as is usual with RW, was not great. In particular, our server was simply WAY too casual for this type of place - I'm talking neighborhood bar casual. I was a bit shocked.
For restaurant week, Flora did something very interesting. They had the standard RW style menu available BUT they also had a "Medium Plate Option" available at the same price. This option gave you a choice of EITHER 1 appetizer OR 1 dessert and your choice of TWO of the RW entree (ie "Medium Plates").
Food: both soups (a chowder of smoked fish and clams & a parsnip chestnut soup) were both lovely; the butternut squash ravioli was a disappointment (possibly frozen); the daube of beef was TO DIE FOR.

I was disappointed in the quality of food for this year's Easter brunch.
Mushy and flat sweet potato buns. Later diners got a bread basket. Arctic char
crust was not crisp. I make a better chocolate mousse. My husband had the bread
pudding and liked it. Our friend said the roast pork was good. We were so
impressed with the Easter brunch in 2011 we came back. But...

Delicious! The food was great, but the carmelized ginger sundae was excellent! This is a nice spot with a bar on one side and restaurant on the other. Food is prepared nicely and arrives at good temperature. Flavors are really nice with the dish being served and the service is with smiles and care. An enjoyable evening with a good friend that I hope to get to do again.

Flora is wonderful, but I was a little disappointed to see that the bar side of the restaurant had changed and now had high top tables. Feels much more generic and less inviting than it used too. Seems to be a trend as Tryst recently did this too.

This is a pleasant neighborhood restaurant with an elegant atmosphere and reasonable prices. The food is well prepared but not very imaginative. I had the Arctic Char which was perfectly cooked and served with beets and watercress. It was very tasty but no unusual or creative flavorings. For dessert we tried the ginger ice cream with peaches. The ice cream was stale and the canned peaches did not really add anything to the dish. But overall, I think that this is a perfectly nice neighborhood restaurant, but not a restaurant I would travel to from another town.

Reservations for a table for three for Sunday brunch. Space is fantastic. Food was very good, but would have been so much better if it was served hot. Both 2 egg meals and the grilled cheese were barely warm. Due to the lengthy wait, we were so hungry by the time it came, we did not want take the time to send it back. Waitress kept apologizing, saying that there was a large party in the other room.She was very stressed - three times she tried to pour coffee into my tea cup, even after I told her I was drinking tea! Fruit salad and scones were GREAT!

Flora sounded great. The menu looked fantastic, and I'm sure the food was great too. It's just too bad I didn't get to try any of it. I made a reservation for 8:30 p.m. which would have given me plenty of time to make the movie for which we had already bought tickets. The hostess was nowhere to be found, and upon speaking with other guests who were waiting, I found that they had vastly over-booked and that the wait for reservations was now pushing 30 minutes or more. I waited at the hostess stand for a good 10 minutes before anyone greeted me (meanwhile, several servers, the manager, and the hostess passed by without saying anything or making eye contact.) After about 30 minutes, we cut our losses and had pizza across the street.
