  • "From the attentive service to the amazing food, Flights was impressive. The highlight was the NC Corn Bisque which blossomed w fresh crab and was a great surprise. The chicken thigh and waffle appetizer was nearly as good. It was Resturant week so they had special deserts as well and we were blown away by the carrot cake blondie with cream cheese ice cream. Main courses consisted of the Brunswick Chicken and the pork porterhouse. The chicken was just a tad dry but the flavor was over the top good. No complaints on the porterhouse. All in all a definite repeat for us!"

  • "Our experience was very positive. We were greeted with a smile and quickly seated. Our server, Travis was very knowledgeable and explained the entrees, discussed preferences and made suggestions. Food was excellent--beautifully prepared and presented. My husband had a pork dish and I had monkfish--we enjoyed both. Pur appetizer of scallops was outstanding! Nice hot bread too. Their signature dessert is a warm cheesecake which has a lovely presentation. "

The highlight was the dessert.....YOU MUST HAVE THE HOT CHEESECAKE!!!!! I have been all over the world and this is without a doubt, the BEST cheesecake I have ever had, hands down, game over!"

  • "One of Raleigh's gems. Chef Dean Thompson has knocked it out of the park. Sourcing local menu items is a huge plus in my book. The flavors are exquisite and well balanced. I mean ranjit ravioli with a truffle cream sauce?! Amazing. We cannot wait to return and partake in more of the epic goodness that exists at Flights. There's a reason he won Fire in the Triangle last year."

  • "My husband and I tried new cuisine from the Restaurant Week menu which was recommended by the server. I had the Chicken Papperdelle which was very tasty plus it was served hot because I hate receiving warm or cold entrees. The Frisee salad was different but very good. My husband and I always try different foods when we eat out and the meal was different but excellent."

  • "The wine list needs some work. It seems as though they are mailing it in - picking wines every chain restaurant offers. The food was unbalanced - good flavors, just not consistent throughout the dish. The same can be said for the service. Our second course arrived as we were still enjoying our first course. I would have rather enjoyed each course individually. Overall, this seems to be a restaurant that could be very good with some fine-tuning."

  • "stayed at the Renaissance, so we went to the bar. Peter, the bartender, was wonderful! Helpful with drink selection and efficient even when he got busy. Big kudos to him. Hostess La'Kell was very accommodating and friendly). Our server was very sweet, but VERY chatty with other tables, which made him ignore us and take longer than usual for everything. The food was excellent, the staff was hit or miss so overall I would come here again, but I would be more outspoken about the service. I got Tomato bisque (excellent!) and the chicken pappardelle (creamy. smooth and flavorful). Got apple pie ala mode for dessert (they were out of hot cheesecake:o( and it was good. Check it out!"

She knew nothing about how the dishes were prepared, other terms used (dressing vs. stuffing), and that rib roast is not pot roast. We would have preferred a buffet. The meal was over priced for what was served."

  • "My wife and I went to Flights for our fourth wedding anniversary. The menu changes frequently so you need to check online before making plans. We had the ribs with green beans and mac & cheese and the low country boil. Excellent. To top the dinner off, you must try the baked cheese cake. It is like eating air!"

  • "We were there for lunch this week. I had the fish tacos which consisted of a very small amount of fish, lettuce, and a bit of mayonaisse (I'm guessing). I noticed one jalapeño slice. No seasoning of any kind or any other ingredients. It was terrible, the most boring taco I've ever had. My companion had a chicken salad sandwich. The chicken filling was watery and weirdly flavored, he couldn't finish it. On the plus side the staff was very pleasant and welcoming, but it can't make up for the failures of the kitchen. They need some decent recipes and a commitment to fresh ingredients."

Food was salty. Last, server was wearing a blue band-aid on her finger, without a latex finger sock/cover to prevent the spread of possible body fluid."

  • "Although our Thanksgiving meal was delicious and more than you could eat, I was really disappointed in where they seated my family of 5 people. Instead of seating us in the beautiful dining room, they chose to walk us through there and into a 'meeting room' type setting. They should advise people at time that we would not be seated in regular dining room. I probably would not have chosen this particular restaurant for Thanksgiving."

  • "I've dined here before and it was wonderful experience then. This time, however, the waitress was inattentive and the food was bland. When I ordered their infamous hot cheesecake dessert, I was told that it wasn't available because the chef wasn't working and he would not share the recipe with the other staff to prepare it. I was shocked to hear such nonsense and that a restaurant would actually think this was acceptable. I hope they rethink their menu offerings to consider what their customers want versus allowing a chef's absence to dictate what is offered."

  • "Frequent Flights on a Friday very early after work. The hostess was very nice and gracious as she escorted me to my table. We ordered the sweet potato soup which came with peanuts and very light carmel sauce. The soup was delicious. It would be perfect for the winter although it was August when I ordered it. It is very sweet and more like a dessert then soup.For my entree I ordered seared scallops with roasted califlower accompanied by sliced pieces of granny smith apples with a nice sauce. The scallops were tender and cooked very well. I would definitely visit again. Excellent dinner and service!"
