A New Year's Eve dinner ... the place was busy ... guess that's good! The receptionist seemed to have trouble finding our reservation, despite me pointing it out on the screen, then proceeded to have us stand in a busy aisle while he clumsily collected the 2 extra set-ups from a booth. The next morning we received an after the fact reservation cancellation from OT ... further confirming he had no idea what he was doing. Despite the rocky start, the wine and food (grouper and filet mignon) were great, although we both commented that iceberg wedge now comes with all the ingredients separately, rather the accompaniments being mixed together as a dressing ... a cost saving?

The food is just ok. Nothing that you would feel comfortable complaining about, but nothing to rave about either. The portion sizes are ridiculous! The plates are small and look empty when they come out. We had apps, main course and dessert and left barely satisfied. The cheese plate was literally some chunks of 3 different cheeses and a few grapes on a plate. It looked like my 2 year old had put it together. One of the patrons at my table described the bread and "really large, chewy croutons".
I knew this was the case with this restaurant, but waited too late to make New Years Eve reservations, and couldn't get in anywhere else. The one good thing I have to say, is that our server was excellent.

we were told as soon as we showed up for our reservations that they were backed up only to see at least a third of their tables empty. we were seated and after ten minutes we were given water and bread. our waitress passed by our table at least seven times without so much as a word. we found the atmosphere not only to be snobby but downright unfriendly. we left after 20 minutes and no one stopping by our table to see if we were ready to order. seems to me if you are going to advertise as fine dining a little service and courtesy would be included. after waiting for another ten minutes we left. can't tell you how the food is but the service is the worst I have ever experienced in dining. DO NOT GO.

This dining experience was wonderful. My husband and I gave this dinner to each other as our Christmas Gift and having eaten there 4 other times, were sure we'd have a memorable evening. It was and we look forward to returning soon.

I've read notes of inconsistency and I've experienced that as well but this visit was excellent - food and service. A party of six enjoyed cocktails, Orin Swift Prisoner,duck and steaks. Service was attentive but not intrusive. So this visit was very positive.

We went to dinner on 12/21/2011 the restaurant was beautifully decorated and unique. The food was over priced and and flavorless. The wedge salad was mostly core and the grilled lettuce on the Chicken Caesar was horribly wilted. However the server we had was excellent. She was very attentive and professional. This is a place that I would recommend people AVOID. There is much better food all over Hendersonville.
