  • "Clearly something was amiss on Tuesday evening at this, one of my favorite San Francisco restaurants. As always the food was superb, but there we're a number of serving errors. On each of two rounds of cocktails, one of the drinks was not as ordered, an appetizer of escargot was still partially frozen and entrees not belonging to us were temporally placed on our table. Along with our desert we were given a complimentary glass of a very fine champagne, which made-up for all the minor errors. I will return for another meal."

I rated noise level as moderate because there was a large party of loud business men. The restaurant is on the small side so it was noticeable. Service staff graciously moved our table further away to accommodate my hearing problem. Would heartily recommend and will go there again."

  • "I have eaten at this restaurant before and chose it to celebrate my birthday. Great restaurants are great because provide consistently good food. I had eaten there in October during the week and it was wonderful but on Friday the food was very average as was the service, even the lobster was tough. Very disappointing for a celebration and definitely not worth the $530.00 we spent. Whilst we were dining we overheard someone saying that the owner was not at the restaurant on the weekends, only during the week. Maybe this is why the food is great during the week but very disappointing on the weekend, wonder if he knows what goes on when he is not there?"

I agree with the other reviews that with each course I was expecting more and deffinetly more quality for the price. My impression is that the chef has not been in to perform the quality controll in quite a while. If it were not for the sommelier the dinner would have been un-eventful."

  • "We visited for our 10 yr anniversary and had a great time with awesome food and great service from the minute we arrived. We tried the 3-course tasting with wine pairing and each of the courses brought something thoughtful, inventive, and delicious. We were also treated to some additional treats that were compliments from the chef. Highlights: The olive bread, avocado-frisee salad with seared watermelon, lamb 3-ways was awesome, and the one of a kind Fleurburger dessert. Among the best restaurants we've experienced in terms food, total service, and ambiance."

All courses were very slow to arrive and the portion sizes were even smaller than I am accustomed to. We ended up eating a lot of bread! They didn't have the wine that I ordered and we were substituted with something else. The food was not that great, only 1 items which was the scallop (singular) with pork belly impressed."

  • "Celebrating my Birth Month, rather than limiting the festivities to a single day (wink). We selected Fleur de Lys as we've not been there in years. Valet parking ($15). We ordered the four course dining option ($88). Note: 3 course $78 and 5 courses $98. They offered a few Amuse Bouche's to start. Then on to the appetizer of Petrale Sole, then Sea Scallops (one large scallop) and the entree of Filet with Lobster Truffled Mac & Cheese ($15 supplement) then ended with the Souffle ($6 supplement). Packed on a Wednesday night, this establishment was very romantic - beautiful - quiet and offered stellar service by all. The meal itself, although good, was not memorable like past meals at Jardiniere / Frances / SPQR etc. (in our opinion of course)"

I was worried that I would feel out of place but from the moment I walked in until they called for a cab for me, I was treated like a queen!!!! The food? It was beyond my wildest dreams. I tried many new things. It was wonderful. Thank you for an amazing night. This dinner made my whole trip!!!!!"

  • "There were many items my guest and I had that we liked, and a few that we didn't. I guess you can say it was a fair trade off. My salmon appetizer and Seared Filet Mignon we very very tasty! The macaroni side to my steak and desert (Fleurburger) weren't very tasty at all... I actually didn't eat much of my desert except for the few tiny bites I tried of each thing on the plate. I was actually pretty disappointed with it. My friend had some appetizer that tasted similar to spam. She was also disappointed with that plate. But she did like the pretzel buns that came with it. She also had the filet mignon for the main course and was pleased with it as Well. The service was friendly, but not as friendly as we'd prefer."

With it's Michelin Star and celebrity chef, I had expected my experience at Fleur de Lys to be a superb dining experience and expose me to at least one flavor experience that I hadn't before seen. To be fair, the meal was delicious, but some items were just, "good" but were far from "great" or "memorable". At this price point, I'd go to La Folie over Fleur de Lys."

  • "The 4 course meal was excellent, especially the meat course. The Kobe beef was superb. Only problem (if it can be considered a problem) was that my wife received a special dessert plate for her birthday, then the dessert plate that she ordered and after that a complimentary 3rd plate of chocolates. It was too much to eat but difficult to refuse. It was a pleasure to meet Chef Keller after the meal. He is as friendly in person as he is on TV."

  • "This was the perfect venue to celebrate our 45th anniversary and was a return visit which again did not disapoint. Everyone from the front desk greeters to the Maitre d' and our servers were aware and noted our celebration with congratulatory statements. The food was superlative both in quality as well as presentation which was made all the more enjoyable by the exemplary service. Choice of wine pairing was perfect. A perfect evening which will be long remember until the next special occasion when a repeat visit will be planned and looked forward with great anticipation."

  • "We went to Fleur de Lys for my sister-in-law's 40th birthday. She had just flown in from Ohio, and is a big fan of Hubert Keller. I was a little nervous, because we had two kids (aged 4 and 9) in our group, and I knew the restaurant was very upscale. We ended up having one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was amazing: all perfectly prepared and delicious! The chef also sent out a melon soup starter, and some special desserts. We had what felt like a veritable army of servers, and they were all exceptionally kind and accommodating. They brought my kids a special dinner of pasta and thinly sliced steak, as well as some "mocktails" made with juice. Everyone seemed to go above and beyond. Highly recommended!"

  • "I was looking for a restaurant with excellent food but an ambiance that did not follow the cookie cutter mold of the current modern restaurant in SF. I am tired of the brutally modernist interiors with cement, exposed heating ducts and hard chairs. Those environments are so noisy because there is no buffering from carpets or drapes or soft chairs. Not to mention, the sameness of look is just dull. FdL has a soft environment without being old fashioned (carpeting, drapery, padded chairs). I found the service was exceptional. The food was very good and I would put up against any of the numerous foodie trendy places. I think this is going to become one of my 'go to' places when I want a nice dinner out."
