It is always hard to choose the courses, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I had the Dungeness crab salad, halibut, and buffalo steak. All excellent, but I'm not really a fan of the coffee coating on the buffalo. My meal was far beyond superb. It was spiced correctly, balanced beyond belief, and delicous. It has been three days since we were there and I cannot stop thinking about the food, the service, and the experience. Flour de lys must be experienced to understand the perfect meal. Following our late afternoon wedding, we went to Fleur de Lys for our celebration dinner before flying to Paris for our honeymoon. What a great warm up for the real thing in France. Paris restaurants having nothing over Fleur de Lys.
Everything was great - food amazing, wines expertly paired and staff very attentive. Every course was a new experience. The crab salad and scallops were particularly wonderful. The extra little plates and tastes offered were a welcome surprise.

The service is at the top - old world European michelin star style (note the napkin folding difference). The service and atmosphere were the standouts for the evening. Having been to my share of notable chefs' restaurants in the US, I found the overall experience at Keller's joint to be above average but not on par with his contemporaries, and it came down to the food. I felt it was overpriced for the level of food and portions (be prepared for some small sizes - I mean 1980's Manhattan small). In the end I am glad to have experienced dinner here, but I will not be returning nor would I recommend it to someone else barring a wedding proposal being the plan for that night.11/20/2012 12:00:00 AM
