  • "excellent experience. food was great. service was fantastic."

  • "Went there for G.F.'s B-day. Very nice ambience. Our waiter Michael was awesome and attentive. Food was very good and paced just right. Was disappointed Chef Keller was not there to meet for the B-day."

  • "Clearly something was amiss on Tuesday evening at this, one of my favorite San Francisco restaurants. As always the food was superb, but there we're a number of serving errors. On each of two rounds of cocktails, one of the drinks was not as ordered, an appetizer of escargot was still partially frozen and entrees not belonging to us were temporally placed on our table. Along with our desert we were given a complimentary glass of a very fine champagne, which made-up for all the minor errors. I will return for another meal."

  • "My wife had always wanted to dine here. Wondered if we would meet the Chef. Much to our surprise, he emerged from the kitchen and passed by our table and thanked us for dining there. He even stopped to take a pic with us. Needless to say, it was an awesome experience that we will never forget."

  • "Noise level very low, able to talk without yelling at each other."

  • "The service was terrific; the food was wonderful; the bill was not too bad: 4 courses for 2 people, 2 cocktails, birthday surprise + tip was less than $300.00. I rated noise level as moderate because there was a large party of loud business men. The restaurant is on the small side so it was noticeable. Service staff graciously moved our table further away to accommodate my hearing problem. Would heartily recommend and will go there again."

  • "I have eaten at this restaurant before and chose it to celebrate my birthday. Great restaurants are great because provide consistently good food. I had eaten there in October during the week and it was wonderful but on Friday the food was very average as was the service, even the lobster was tough. Very disappointing for a celebration and definitely not worth the $530.00 we spent. Whilst we were dining we overheard someone saying that the owner was not at the restaurant on the weekends, only during the week. Maybe this is why the food is great during the week but very disappointing on the weekend, wonder if he knows what goes on when he is not there?"

  • "Wonderful experience - It is easy to understand why this restaurant has received such high ratings over the past decade - One of the top 40 restaurants in the United States in the early 2000's by Gayot restaurant guide, the San Francisco Chronicle's highest four-star rating, top 25 restaurants in the United States by Food & Wine magazine."

  • "What once was a legend is now just a place people go for birthdays and anniversary dinners. I agree with the other reviews that with each course I was expecting more and deffinetly more quality for the price. My impression is that the chef has not been in to perform the quality controll in quite a while. If it were not for the sommelier the dinner would have been un-eventful."

  • "There are many nice restaurants in SF, but thus is one of the restaurants that I want to come again and again. No disappointment."

  • "We visited for our 10 yr anniversary and had a great time with awesome food and great service from the minute we arrived. We tried the 3-course tasting with wine pairing and each of the courses brought something thoughtful, inventive, and delicious. We were also treated to some additional treats that were compliments from the chef. Highlights: The olive bread, avocado-frisee salad with seared watermelon, lamb 3-ways was awesome, and the one of a kind Fleurburger dessert. Among the best restaurants we've experienced in terms food, total service, and ambiance."

  • "My husband and I chose to celebrate our anniversary at Fleur de Lys. As soon as you enter, you are transported to another world, rich with silks and beauty. Service was beyond anything I could describe. Each course was beautiful with delicious small bites. A very special place!!!"

  • "The restaurant staff are super friendly. They made sure that our special occasion (our engagement) was celebrated thoroughly. The food was outstanding, and we would definitely come back again for it. We kept getting extra little plates of food, like two desserts, one to celebrate our engagement and one as a thank you for coming. It was spectacular!!!"

  • "Great dining experience, 3 hours flew by with Amuse-bouche treats, excellent wine pairings thanks to Marcus the great Sommelier. The only miss was the specialty cocktails that were not as good as we expected. The presentation was great, staff attentive. We left purring we were so happy!"

  • "I made a reservation for 9PM, and only was seated 25 minutes later. The concierge kept saying the table would be ready in 5 minutes, over and over again. She didn't offer us any drinks whatsoever. It was very disappointing."

  • "The food was a perfect 10 and all that came with that from the moment we walked in the door. Right to the minute we met the chef. Wow wow fantastic. worth every dollar."

  • "Food was interesting and full of flavour. Nonetheless, service seemed to be always in a hurry, which demerited the whole concept of a recognised restaurant."

  • "Price is reasonable. Ambience is great. Food is excellent. Service is very, very good. Overall a great experience."

  • "Had a fantastic meal here during a recent stay in the city. We did the three course menu with wine pairings and were thrilled with all of it. Everything was authentic, and not at all pretentious. Would definitely make a return visit since there were so many things that we would have loved to have tried."

  • "This is the second time that we have been to Fleur de Lys and again it was exceptional. The five course meal with paired wines was delicious and diverse with spot on pairings for all courses. The service was attentive but not in your face. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a fancy but not pretentious dinner."

  • "I have been to 4 or 5 of these 3-5 course tasting menus and Fluer de Lys was the most disappointing of them all. All courses were very slow to arrive and the portion sizes were even smaller than I am accustomed to. We ended up eating a lot of bread! They didn't have the wine that I ordered and we were substituted with something else. The food was not that great, only 1 items which was the scallop (singular) with pork belly impressed."

  • "The food was enjoyable, fresh and beautifully presented. The wait service was very good but lacked attention to the finer details, particularly bringing the bill before asking if we wanted coffee (which we did). The sommelier on the other hand was friendly and personable, engaging in conversation without being intrusive. He was great. Overall a pleasant evening to introduce us to the San Francisco dining scene"

  • "Celebrating my Birth Month, rather than limiting the festivities to a single day (wink). We selected Fleur de Lys as we've not been there in years. Valet parking ($15). We ordered the four course dining option ($88). Note: 3 course $78 and 5 courses $98. They offered a few Amuse Bouche's to start. Then on to the appetizer of Petrale Sole, then Sea Scallops (one large scallop) and the entree of Filet with Lobster Truffled Mac & Cheese ($15 supplement) then ended with the Souffle ($6 supplement). Packed on a Wednesday night, this establishment was very romantic - beautiful - quiet and offered stellar service by all. The meal itself, although good, was not memorable like past meals at Jardiniere / Frances / SPQR etc. (in our opinion of course)"

  • "I went by myself while visiting San Francisco from Ontario . My friend went to a sports game, but I wanted to go to a fancy restaurant and I choose Fluer De Lys. I was worried that I would feel out of place but from the moment I walked in until they called for a cab for me, I was treated like a queen!!!! The food? It was beyond my wildest dreams. I tried many new things. It was wonderful. Thank you for an amazing night. This dinner made my whole trip!!!!!"

  • "Chef Hubert Keller again impressed us with his creative culinary talent. This was an Anniversary Dinner and my wife had Chef Keller sign his cookbook for me, which he was happy to do and came out to talk with us for a minute. He was very gracious for a busy man! This is truly fine dining at it's best. Treat yourself the next time you're in San Franscico. It will be worth your while."

  • "There were many items my guest and I had that we liked, and a few that we didn't. I guess you can say it was a fair trade off. My salmon appetizer and Seared Filet Mignon we very very tasty! The macaroni side to my steak and desert (Fleurburger) weren't very tasty at all... I actually didn't eat much of my desert except for the few tiny bites I tried of each thing on the plate. I was actually pretty disappointed with it. My friend had some appetizer that tasted similar to spam. She was also disappointed with that plate. But she did like the pretzel buns that came with it. She also had the filet mignon for the main course and was pleased with it as Well. The service was friendly, but not as friendly as we'd prefer."

  • "A delicious meal, but did not exceed expectations. With it's Michelin Star and celebrity chef, I had expected my experience at Fleur de Lys to be a superb dining experience and expose me to at least one flavor experience that I hadn't before seen. To be fair, the meal was delicious, but some items were just, "good" but were far from "great" or "memorable". At this price point, I'd go to La Folie over Fleur de Lys."

  • "My wife and I went here for our anniversary and while the food was not bad it was not memorable either. For the price I think the food should have been amazing and I can't say that it was. There were a few things that I really liked but throughout the 4 course menu that my wife and I both got everything was just OK."

  • "The 4 course meal was excellent, especially the meat course. The Kobe beef was superb. Only problem (if it can be considered a problem) was that my wife received a special dessert plate for her birthday, then the dessert plate that she ordered and after that a complimentary 3rd plate of chocolates. It was too much to eat but difficult to refuse. It was a pleasure to meet Chef Keller after the meal. He is as friendly in person as he is on TV."

  • "This was the perfect venue to celebrate our 45th anniversary and was a return visit which again did not disapoint. Everyone from the front desk greeters to the Maitre d' and our servers were aware and noted our celebration with congratulatory statements. The food was superlative both in quality as well as presentation which was made all the more enjoyable by the exemplary service. Choice of wine pairing was perfect. A perfect evening which will be long remember until the next special occasion when a repeat visit will be planned and looked forward with great anticipation."

  • "Fleur de Lys was chosen for my special birthday as it has been a family favorite for many years even though we are not able to visit often. It did not disappoint. The service was impeccable from the time we walked into the restaurant. The table was cozy for the 6 family members, rather than being too big. A nice change. The food was outstanding and the wine suggested, wonderful. A most memorable evening."

  • "We went to Fleur de Lys for my sister-in-law's 40th birthday. She had just flown in from Ohio, and is a big fan of Hubert Keller. I was a little nervous, because we had two kids (aged 4 and 9) in our group, and I knew the restaurant was very upscale. We ended up having one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was amazing: all perfectly prepared and delicious! The chef also sent out a melon soup starter, and some special desserts. We had what felt like a veritable army of servers, and they were all exceptionally kind and accommodating. They brought my kids a special dinner of pasta and thinly sliced steak, as well as some "mocktails" made with juice. Everyone seemed to go above and beyond. Highly recommended!"

  • "I was looking for a restaurant with excellent food but an ambiance that did not follow the cookie cutter mold of the current modern restaurant in SF. I am tired of the brutally modernist interiors with cement, exposed heating ducts and hard chairs. Those environments are so noisy because there is no buffering from carpets or drapes or soft chairs. Not to mention, the sameness of look is just dull. FdL has a soft environment without being old fashioned (carpeting, drapery, padded chairs). I found the service was exceptional. The food was very good and I would put up against any of the numerous foodie trendy places. I think this is going to become one of my 'go to' places when I want a nice dinner out."

  • "Absolutely the most luxurious place in town! Fleur de Lys is old-style dining in a luxurious setting; the ceiling is tented and a huge floral arrangement dominates the center of the room. Mercifully quiet, you can actually enjoy a romantic moment with your loved one, while dining through an Alsatian influenced French menu that includes a dungeness crab salad and filet mignon with truffled macaroni and cheese. And don't forget the souffles! Great wine list, great service; this is the go-to place for special occasion dining. How sad it is that there are so few establishment of this type left in SF. Expensive, but worth every penny!"

  • "If you are a foodie, this is the place for you! It never disappoints. If you go for the 5 course, it is way too much food, but go for it anyway and eat a little of everything. the food is prepared as it should be, my steak was cooked to perfection and my wife's fish was perfect also. Service is just as good as the food. If you are trying to pick between 2 places, this is the one! Don't miss it."

  • "Somehow Hubert Keller - who was actually working in the kitchen - maintains the perfection of cuisine and service in this gorgeous setting. Remarkable food for the foodie. Fleur de Lys is as fine a dining experience as one can find anywhere in the world. Keep it up, Hubert, and thank you!"
