Fleming's Steakhouse - Woodland HillsWell DoneWe drove forty five miles to enjoy Mother's Day brunch. I had requested that we be seated anyplace but in the middle of the room at a table. The staff honored that request without mention and our server was attentive, anticipated our needs and was spot on. The food was delicious with a great selection for a brunch. The restraunt staff was outstanding, we, children included had a wonderfull time. Zach was our server and did an excellent job. He was there when we needed him and did not hover around the table. Our reservation was for 845pm and we arrived at 820pm and were seated immediately. Dinner service and coffee after caused us to not be finished with our meal until an hour after closing, but you would have never guessed that it was so late. The entire staff did a great job. I will definitely go back.
Food was excellent. We had the crab cake appetizer and then several small plates and the Flemings potatoes. We were looking for a quiet dinner and enjoyed a long leisurely dinner in the private dining area. We also had EXCEPTIONAL service (our server was Steve). The restaurant is very noisy but they put us in a small private room that had three tables in it and it was wonderful. We could relax and talk and actually hear each other. Our server was fantastic. The services was good but not overbearing. Carpacio was fabulous as always, Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad with Beets is the best I have had. Small plates Lamp Chops with Polenta and F17 Sauce was very good. Enjoyed trying some very nice glasses of wine. In past, service and food were "hit or miss" and as a result we are not regulars. This visit was a hit. As soon as you sit down, you are served a complimentary tray with bread. I prefer the previous tray of veggies and cheese spreads to the now tray of bread and flavored butters. Our server was really nice, attentive, and took time to show us their newest "toy" - an iPad with interactive wine offerings. Gimmicky, but might be nice for those that have no clue what to order and use it to select the restaurants featured wine choices. The onion soup was excellent. That is why we decided to try their special Sunday prime rib dinner for $29.95. It sounded like a great value and it was. It included a choice of their best salads, any of their "sides" with the prime rib and any of their best desserts. (We each had the chocolate lava cake with ice cream!) Unfortunately, the special ends next Sunday. We can only hope that they bring it back soon.2/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
