It was a celebration, and we were planning to have steak & lobster. A surf & turf was not offered, so we had to purchase them separately. I ordered my steak medium rare, and it was over cooked. I sent it back. A short time later the manager came to the table inquiring about our experience. I showed him the bottom of my au gratin potatoes, which were burned. He quickly replaced them. Lastly, I had made a special request when booking for a table with plenty of leg room. My husband is 6 ft 3 in. We were seated close to the kitchen with lots of traffic.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect DateMy husband I had a great dinner experience at Flemings. Are server Kody was incredibly attentive, assisted with recommendations, and was extremely genuine. The lobster tempura was so delicious and our entrees of filet with crab and ny steak were just perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and appreciated the sweet truffles in celebration of us expecting our first baby. I have already requested a follow up dinner before baby is born in November. Food was awesome, service was impeccable. As a side note I had goofed and picked the wrong date on the mobile Open Table app--when I showed a day early the hostess did not even hesitate and had us seated on time even though the restaurant looked packed. Was not impressed with our first visit to Walnut Creek restaurant. Service was at best clumsy. Salads were unflavorable and although my ribeye was good my wifes short rib was off mark. We bought drinks, starters, entrees, side dishes, etc and was still charged full corkage for wine brought in. We have never been charged corkage as long time Flemings customers. This was enough in itself to lead us to another steakhouse next time we go out. She had excellent timing, good suggestions, and was very friendly. The new iPad wine menu was interesting, not always responsive, though. The selection was good, though. The food was delicious, of course. We had the baked brie to start. The rare filet was more toward medium-rare, but still tasty. The rib-eye on the bone had no complaints. The sides were great pairings: garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed corn. Dessert was creme brulee and berries with chantilly creme.
