Fleming's Steakhouse - San AntonioNothing like the first impressionThe first time I dined there for my birthday on a week night, I was blown away by everything; the food, ambience & service! So, we can back on our anniversary. Although, we still loved everything, being that is was a Saturday night, the service was much slower, the shrimp in an appetizer was over-cooked, I was freezing the entire time (which is odd because I get lots of hot flashes). The waitress was very nice and accommodating, but older and forgetful. The bus boy could have brought more bread. We still had a great time, but it wasn't perfect. I had arranged for a flower arrangement to be delivered to the restaurant. When we arrived, the flowers were on the table, but there was no card attached. We are of an age where trying to stuff bunches of beef in our gullet is not enjoyable and has longterm ramifications. This requires that my wife and I agree upon a single entree so that we do not have to take home expensive leftovers for sandwiches. The little plates do the job and provide a variety of choices. There is something to eat for everyone's taste. Worth trying.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGood job FlemingsWe have not been to Flemings since the newest menu and were very happy to see the small plates. Usually my wife and I have to decide upon a single cut of beef so that we can split it. I use to be able to scarf down 12-16 oz steaks with no problem but now days age caught up with me :( I had the lamb chops which were perfect and just the right amount, my wife had the sliced filet mignon. Perfect amounts of each and no take home yeah. We will be back to work over the rest of the small plates.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
