Fleming's Steakhouse - Salt Lake CityFirst time dinerI had heard great things about this hidden gem of a Steakhouse in the Gateway complex. The reservation process was simple but I had the feeling not necessary as we were not even queried as to whether we had a reservation or not.
We were seated immediately but the drinks and bread were slow to arrive. The server was extremely helpful in the ordering process and made a fantastic wine pairing suggestion.
My bone-in rib-eye was superb and I'd highly recommend the Fleming potatoes but the petite Filet my wife ordered was dry and lacking the usual flavor and texture you'd expect from this cut.
Overall, I'd return, but at a $220 bill for 2 (including tip) it would probably be a secondary choice to other Steakhouses.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMI have to admit this visitI have to admit this visit wasn't as good as I've had in the past. Food is still great. The Cesar salad was smaller this time than in the past. My steak wasn't quite as good as in the past. It was a little more cooked on the outside and a little undercooked in the center. Don't get me wrong. The food is still great, but it was better on my previous visits. I still love the blueberry cheesecake with Chantilly cream. The best cheesecake ever!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSLC FlemingsService was superb! Food was delivered in a timely fashion but not rushed. Swordfish was a bit over cooked and slightly dry.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWine And DineGreat prime steak with a killer wine selection to match. The ipad wine app was fun.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat steak indeed! We have made a number of visits and this was our best by far. A lot has to do with menu selection from our viewpoint as imagine if going for steak it will always hit the mark. Our mains of Petite Filet Mignon again was succulent and the Double Thick Pork Rib Chop excellent. Starters of Scallops and French Quarter Barbecue Shrimp were both very good, not outstanding but better than our previous visit selections. Alex our waiter was very attentive and helpful. Wine list is excellent. There are better value restaurants in SLC but have to say that the steak is always very good here and this experience was far better than previous as noted. Not quite a 4 versus others overall for us gets the nod from us this time.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLocated in the Gateway CenterLocated in the Gateway Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Flemings is located adjacent to the sports arenas and near the theater district. Service is prompt and the Ipad wine list is very high tech. The food and service are as expected for a reasonably high priced restaurant and the menu has great choices especially of steak and seafood. Small plates are great for folks desiring reasonable quantities of food. Do dine here when in downtown.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways excellent food selectionAlways excellent food selection and everything is made perfectly. Depending on the time of day the service can be a little slow but the food makes everything worth it.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat business dinnerWent for a business dinner with a client. We were seated almost exactly on the time of our reservation (7pm) which was a plus. The wine list is huge and varied which we took advantage of. Ordered my steak 'very' rare and it came out as such and was perfect. Sides were good and desert was excellent. Only possible downside is this place is pricey ($360 for two people). Will definitely be back.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey, but always consistentlyPricey, but always consistently good food and service.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday Prime Rib - excellent valueThis was the first time we tried the Sunday Prime Rib. The Prime Rib was excellent and so was the service- thanks Amber. We will recommend to everyone looking for terrific Prime Rib and excellent value for their money.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! We can't wait to go back.I took my boyfriend to Fleming's for his birthday last Friday. It was both our first time experiencing this place but from what I've read online I felt good about going and taking a chance. We had reservations at 7:45 and the place was packed! Regardless of beibg busy, We couldn't have had better service or better food! The steaks melted in your mouth and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for to set the mood for our romantic evening. The wine selection was incredible and now we have a new favorite wine! We can't wait to go back and have another great experience.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat steak & serviceLocation was handy for pre-movie dinner - score more 3.5. The steak is some of the best we have had (although have to qualify we are not big red meat eaters, but this makes us pretty picky on meat also) as was very tender and succulent. Crab cakes were good but did find our other appetizer the Sweet Chile Calamari average. Entree/Main wise the steak (Petite Filet Mignon) was superb but again our other dish, the Lobster Tails was only average - sautéed spinach as our side was excellent. Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert was well worth the wait it takes to cook (20min). Service was a highlight with Jeremiah consistently attentive and professional. Ambiance is better than I expected in rich wooded dining area1/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
