  • "Food was not as good as normally. I was really surprised."

  • "good overall, great service. one steak overdone from what was asked for."

  • "From the front door greeting, to the table staff, and throughout the meal, Fleming's welcomed us by name and gave us extraordinarily attentive service. This would've been surprising even on a slow night, but the place was jam-packed with other diners during our Saturday prime-time reservation. Apart from the noise level and being seated at a table rather than a booth, the evening was perfect. The wine service was helpful and prompt. Salad and carpaccio starters were very good, and all our steaks and sides were excellent. Glasses kept filled, waitstaff solicitous of further needs; overall, a delightful dining experience in line with the prices (almost $100 per person, including wine, tax & tip, no cocktails or dessert). We'll be back."

  • "Flemings offers a exemplary staff and fine service that rivals many non chain resturants. In a highly competitive Richmond food market, Flemings has provided a great blue print for customer service and attention to detail that very few in the category can match. My hats off to the management team and staff for pulling this off."

  • "The good is wonderful, service is excellent, and it certainly a special treat. It isn't cheap and hard to leave for less than $100-150 per person so it can't say I'll be a regular. However I you have a special occasion or need to impress business colleagues it's a great choice."

  • "Did not know what to expect--The Wednesday adverized special was excellent. Found an interesting red wine from California, however more Southern Hemisphere wines could be added especially from an excellent Wine Country such as South Africa"

  • "The place is very nice and quality selections as well. Though priced outside of my normal budget it was a nice treat. Our server was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The chimicurri was a little off wasn't as bright as I would like. But all and all a great night."

  • "Great food, comfortable surroundings, good for a special occasion."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "While the food is very good and service excellent, it is overpriced. A meal for two with two salads, steak, one shared side dish, three glasses of wine, and a shared desert cost almost $250 with tip. Everything on the menu is extra; typically at about $10 or more for each item. It all adds up quickly. The wine is good but also over priced. It had better a special occasion to warrant a meal at this price."

  • "The entire staff was extremely accommodating and very friendly, as they have been all five times we've eaten here. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced!"

  • "We enjoyed a great meal at Flemings. Steaks are the thing to get here, but the salads are awesome too. I was disappointed they didn't have the wine I wanted but they recommended something that was almost as good."

  • "When did Fleming's get so expensive? 4 for dinner (2 bottles of wine @ $60), the wives split their meal (salad and steak), the men had apps, steaks and we all had dessert. $450. I could go to a local butcher shop, pay $25/lb for some awesome bone in rib-eyes and throw them on my grill and buy two bottles of Opus One for less money. Steak places really get you to jack up the bill with the a la carte menu and while the food and service were good, I was really surprised at the high price. There are certainly less expensive ways to enjoy Fleming's, but I thought our foursome ordered like we normally do and the bill seemed high to me."

  • "My wife and I freqently make the rounds at various high-end restaurants around Richmond, and we truly enjoy visiting Fleming's. The food is excellent. Service is very good, albeit a little too attentive at times, and the location is easy to reach; however, much like Hondo's, the elevated prices and a-la-carte' menu have really make it too expensive for this area. Morton's used to be the priciest restaurant that we were willing to do, but we now find Morton's more desirable, because we can relax and enjoy ourselves without feeling as though we're paying more for dinner than the pleasure of the experience returns."

  • "did not let us down again. great food and service. no complaints. steaks were perfect, shrimp too. cocktails were great and of course, the wine selections are always great - our selection was great outstanding staff made our meal go smoothly, our waiter answered all questions and was there when we needed him. thanks."

  • ""I love the relaxed feel of this place - like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish- one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didnt quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.""

  • "The reason I would not recommend this resturant is because I feel the prices were excessive. For a $50 steak, a side should be included. The food certainly was good, but not still did not justify the cost. Service seemed slow, but the wait staff was nice. The most memorable part of our meal was the cabernet reduction sauce that the waiter added to our plate. It was fabulous."

  • "The service was very good. All staff were very polite and attentive. The food was great but the menu could use some updating. Many of the menu options were somewhat predictable, particularly the appetizer and dessert choices. The small plates menu was a nice option but it would have been nice to see a few of those choices as appetizers. The wine list was fantastic and the digital list was a nice touch. The birthday send off of housemase truffles and a gift card were appreciated as well. All in all a nice experience and quality."

  • "Second visit to Fleming's and it was delicious yet again. I asked for a quiet booth away from parties and children and they seated me in a very nice corner booth with an excellent server. I started with the dried cranberry and candied nut salad in a delicious vinaigrette dressing and ordered a small plate, the steak filet bites over risotto cooked medium well. It was cooked perfectly and the drizzled sauces were delish. I also ordered the macaroni and cheese. I really enjoyed the fresh bread with the sundried tomato and cranberry gorganzola cheese spreads. The bread has cheese and herbs cooked in and was warm and yummy. For dessert I tried the creme brulee and it was good but could've used more berries. A+ overall. I'll be back."

  • "My wife and I frequently eat dinner at Fleming's. The food is always very good, and the level of attention / service continues to expand to rival, and even surpass that of Morton's. On the downside, the prices have become very high. While the steaks are great, an 8oz. Filet runs $80 per pound, which is ridiculous. All food items are ala carte, so it's very easy to spend $150 for dinner for two with a glass of wine, salad and dessert. It's good food, but it's just food. These outer hemispheric prices will continue to reduce the frequency of visits, pushing us to eat at equally nice, and less expensive alternatives."

  • "We had wonderful steaks and lobster, but beyond the perfectly cooked steaks, impressive wine list, great bar scene, attentive hostess and manager -- the single factor that really made it such a great dining experience was the service provided by our server Ashlea and her team - it was phenomenal and you just do not find service like it anymore."

  • "We went there for my birthday. They were running a "Sunday January Special" that included dessert. Well............unbeknownst to us, they extended it to the Monday on which we went there. The result was NO lava cake. Really??? This was the THIRD weekend in January, they added a day to the weekend, and had not increased the lava cakes to an adequate level. No excuse for such inadequate planning. For $100+ per person, we wanted to be offered the full menu. The chef came to our table and did not apologize - just said they ran out. No complementary desserts were offered."

  • "Been here 3 times and the consistent high standard of service and food keeps us coming back for more. Great place for special occasions like birthdays as they provide extras!"
    Dined on 1/26/2014
  • "Steaks were great. My wife said "the best she has ever had and that includes Morton's & Ruth's Chris. However everyone in our party said they were overpriced. Sides were good and could be shared. Expect a hefty bill. Service was top notch."

  • "Always love Flemings. The wait staff treats you like family!"
    Dined on 1/5/2014
  • "The Food and service were very good. We had to wait a while for the food...I think the kitchen got a little backed up. The price was too much for the amount of food you received."
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "The service was exceptionally good and professional, a rarity even in high-end restaurants in Richmond. The Sunday Prime Rib special is a particularly good deal."
    Dined on 12/29/2013
  • "Attention to detail in both food and service. Food was excellent but Service was beyond excellent. Have never had a more attentive but not obtrusive staff. It was a great experience eating there. Incredible wine selections and many, many great food selections. Made it hard to decide :) Ask for Lindsey Shea - she was our waiter and went out of her way to make it a fun and memorable experience."

  • "This was our fourth visit to Flemings but not as enjoyable as our previous visits. We were seated in a fairly brightly lit room off of the main dining area which lacked atmosphere - other than the HVAC vent that blew throughout the meal. The main dining room is a much more pleasant and romantic setting. We felt like we had been seated at the "kid's table". My spouse's steak was undercooked and by the time it was replaced, I was practically done with my meal. The food is still good but the overall experience did not equal the price we paid for the meal."

  • "Have been a regular at Fleming's for 5 years, but they have consistently raised their prices on steaks ($50!), sides ($10 for a side salad!) and wine (triple retail price!) to make this last experience totally unpleasant knowing how much the check would end up at the end of the evening. Can get just as good a steak and salad, plus wonderful wine, for a third of the price at Arcadia downtown."

  • "Usually we think of this level of service and food in a local, high-end establishment, not in a chain. This is one of those standout exceptions. The food is excellent and superbly prepared, service is beyond what you expect anywhere currently, and it puts us in mind of service as it once was in many of the high-end restaurants from years ago. The bar does a great job, and the wine list is complete with some very good choices. Overall, a great experience."

  • "This was perhaps our 5th visit, and every time has been great for both food and service. Try the mushroom ravioli appetizer!"
    Dined on 12/16/2013
  • "The food was what you would expect from Flemings, very good. We had a very good meal and enjoyed the evening. On the "how could they improve" side of things: This close to the holiday season, we would have expected something on the menu with holiday flare; the menu (food & drink) was woefully lacking. A little holiday ambiance would have made the experience a bit more fun as well. The wine list was very good with a broad selection, however during a time when most restaurants have cut back somewhat on the markup for their wines, it appears that Flemings has gone in the other direction."

  • "Happy Hour at this location is always terrific but this time we sat down for dinner. Service was outstanding-timely but not intrusive or hurried. Signficant wine list by the glass makes it fun to try new vintages. Food quality is never an issue."

  • "Food was excellent! Oysters Rock were to die for, and my filet was super tender and melted in your mouth. Great wine list, but the first bottle we chose, they were out of...and it was one of the "raved" wines. We were running late for our reservation, and I called them and they were wonderful! pushed our reservation back 15 min, and when traffic made us still a bit late, they had no problem accommodating us....and they were packed!! Heard them tell someone in front of us about an over 2hr wait. Great hostess team, and managers were great to check on us and clear dishes. Great service team all around!"

  • "They are using ipads to recommend wines and desserts....server brings by and places on your table...the screen is on and bright....I found it a bit anoying as it breaks up your conversation/train of thought."

  • "We wanted to treat our friends for dinner. We made a reservation in advance for 6. When we arrived, we were taken to a table next to the kitchen. We asked for another table and we were told we would have to wait a few minutes to change. They did move us to a better location. We felt the first table should have been for a "walk in" , not someone with reservations. The wait staff was excellent. The food was very disappointing. All steaks were overcooked. We were hoping for excellent food, especially the steaks so it was very disappointing. Our friends had never eaten at Flemmings. We had good experiences on other occasions, so we were excited to take our friend there. Verry disappointing."

  • "Dined at Fleming's Steakhouse for the first time on Saturday night and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the restaurant. All of the food came out on time, was at the desired temperature and the flavor was delectable. Excellent service and I will recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and family."

  • "Flemings is a quality fine dining restaurant in Richmond. The entire staff seek to exceed your expectations. We have been many times before, and each time when we signify a special occasion, such as this last trip being our 25th wedding anniversary, the staff goes above and beyond to help us celebrate. We always bring plenty of leftovers home while enjoying plenty of food at the table. We received a framed photo, a gift card and truffles as well! We love Nancy and everyone makes you feel like Flemings really wants your business - not like so many places that make you feel like they are doing you a favor by being open. We will return to Flemings again and again for this reason and the quality food!"
