Diner Reviews
  • "The dry-aged ribeye is certainly one of the best I've ever had. We ordered it with a slight sear and it was phenomenal. The suggested wine pairing was perfect and the service was the right balance of attentiveness without being over bearing. "

  • "A bit overpriced for the quality - which is good, but not quite stellar. There are better values out there. But service is excellent and I lie the subdued decor."

  • "Wonderful food and good wine. There were no prices on the online menu, so we did not know what to expect and we were using a gift card. Water glasses never got empty, service was great. It was a great experience. We will not return, but that is only because of the price of the food. We had a $100 gift card and that covered less than half of our bill including tip. Great place to eat, good food, but $50 for a single steak is not something I will do again."

  • "Nice choice of steaks in wonderful setting. Notable wine selection with thought through presentation."

  • "NIce resturant but very expensive. Food was good but not worth the price. Dinner for two with only one glass of wine ran $230 with tip."

  • "This is a higher end restaurant. You will pay a little more for the food, but that's because you get what you pay for. The steaks are fantastic. Cooked to order, perfect, and done right. If you want a $20 steak, then go to somewhere else. The appetizers are well made, not too much, not too little. The wedge salad is a must- the smoky bacon bits are a great addition. Scallops are done very well, sweet and cooked just right. The steaks...forget about it! Perfection. They have a very extensive list of wines and spirits, however, the bartender should be better trained as to how to serve a liquor versus a port or a sauternes. For a higher end restaurant, they do not serve the alcohol in the correct glassware. However, overall it was great."

  • "Fleming's is one of our favorite steak restaurants for fine dining / special occasion, but it is quite expensive. $50+ for certain steaks. They have an amazing steak sauce called F17 that comes with their Peppercorn Steak. Nice wine / drink list as well. Most recently we went on a Sunday evening so it was fairly quite. Other nights it is busier, but never loud. They do have a kids menu, but we prefer to go on a "date night"."

  • "My husband and I had an excellent meal. The salad with blue cheese dressing is great! The steaks are delicious! The wines are exceptional. The key lime pie is the best!! We had tickets to the Marriot Theater. It was very convenient to have a nice dinner and see a wonderful play. Thank you again for a great dining experience!"

  • "My son and I had a wonderfully enjoyable evening at Flemings. He savored two of their specialty cocktails, but I chose not to because of a sinus headache. We both ordered the filet and lobster tail special and felt it was a good choice. Our server was courteous, attentive, well-trained. I would definitely recommend Flemings to our friends, and will dine here again."

  • "Outstanding wine list. Great service and attention to detail. However, Chicago has an abundance of world-class steak houses, be it in the suburbs or downtown. Most high-end steak houses tend to err on the rare side. Flemings, the opposite. Order your next steak at Flemings a little less done. My biggest complaint was running out of a particular steak on a Saturday evening at 9 pm. I was excited to enjoy a dry-aged NY strip, especially after the servers mouth-watering description, only to be told they ran out. Ran out?! On a Saturday night? Really. Overall: Excellent wines and service. Steaks a tad too done. Pricey, but in line with other steak houses. A lot of other choices out there."

  • "The dining room is spacious, with high ceilings, many booths and well spaced tables. I am not a steak-house person but my husband and son are. The caesar salad was crisp with tasty prosciutto bits. The calamari had a subtle very interesting sauce and we all loved it. My petite tenderloin was okay but not much taste. Our waiter was attentive."

  • "Average steak, and that says it all. $50 for one is fine if it's really good, but nothing at all compelling about the food. Sullivan's is considerably better. I had high hopes but it's not worth the time or money."

  • "Our dining experience was great and so was our server, Ann Madden. We would recommend this establishment for any special occasion."

  • "This restaurant is very over priced with mediocre steaks. The steaks are over $50, served with nothing else on the plate and not very good. We were very disappointed and were surprised so many epode were eating there. They did have a good wine list."

  • "We have been to Fleming's numerous times and have never been disappointed. T he steaks always cook perfectly the wait staff excellent. We went for steak and Lobster special and it was great."

  • "Went there for our 38th wedding anniversary & was very disappointed. Though restaurant was not busy, we were put in a corner booth which made us feel isolated. Could have asked to move but since we were already situated, we stayed. Our waiter had no personality & was a little rude. Bad service started when served our bread & I asked for butter. Twenty minutes later, had to flag down waiter to ask again. Throughout the dinner, we were always looking for him; which made overall experience disappointing. Menu was over priced based on the service we received. Dinner was $500 for four & I EXPECTED MUCH BETTER SERVICE than we received. Although food was good, would not go back with such bad service."

  • "Outstanding wine and food at a expensive price. That's the only reason why Wildfire is packed and Flemings is empty on a Friday night at 7:00."

  • "The service and the food was excellent. My wife and I were very happy with our meal and the server "Jonathon" was very professional, outgoing, and very timely. We were celebrating a belated Valentine's Day. It was a great dinner, ambience, and night for us. We definitely will be visiting Fleming's again and we will ask for Jonathon again. Logan Reed"

  • "Couldn't have had a better Valentine's Day at Fleming's. I especially liked that they offered a 3 course menu that included an amuse-bouche, salad, and entree that was a steak and choice of salmon or lobster with a side. That way, you could taste everything without having to order ala carte."

  • "I came here with my girlfriend of one year for valentines day. We got the special and we were both blown away. And not because we didn't expect it to be good, quite the opposite. It just happened to exceed our already very high expectations. Food was perfect, waiter was very friendly but not overbearing (even got us an extra slice of carrot cake!), and the cappuccinos capped off a perfect meal. Not much else to say besides I loved it!"

  • "I thought the ambience was perfect for a romantic night out. The food menu was thought out well for the valentines special & the wine list was perfect... Our server Kelsie is amazing and you should ask for her on your next visit.. Her wine pairing knowledge was great & her personality engaging..."

  • "We were celebrating my husbands birthday with my two kids (10,8). We had a wonderful server named Kyle, who was on top of everything..He made our dinner experience a pleasure. My kids were getting tired and he new it, so he made sure we had everything we needed in a timely fashion. It is so nice to have a server who is friendly and no attitude.."

  • "We went on Monday night and discovered that the Prime Rib Special (offered on Sundays) was available on Mondays too! My girlfriend stated that it was the best prime rib she has had. I am a big eater, I have to say I was unable to finish my meal and I cannot recall the last time I left a restaurant so full. Plenty of food for the money! 29.95 for salad, entree and dessert!! Big value!"

  • "The management seems to have changed hands and so far it does not seem for the better. Waitress told us Choc Lava Cake not included with Prime Rib special. so I challenged that and said your Flemings email says any Dessert and did not list any exceptions in fine print? When waitress came back after checking with management to see if we could get the Lava Cake she said they would accommodate very snarky. Maybe new manager told her to dissuade Lava Cake but to me you sell the other deserts to dissuade not Lie or be uninformed & say something incorrectly."

  • "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday -- Prime Rib at Flemings. It is Excellent. Only to be outdone by the fabulous service. My husband enjoyed the Sunday Prime Rib, his favorite and I enjoyed a small bite dish of sliced filet over risotto. His was excellent as usual and my dinner was delicious. Thanks Flemings for another great dining experience."

  • "Excellent food and service. Higher prices, but worth it if you like exceptional food and a stunning wine list. We were there for a special occasion and they really made it very special. The entire group was treated like they were the only people in the restaurant and were not rushed. They even gave a gift card to the couple celebrating their engagement. What a lovely touch! The server was outstanding and extremely personable. It is SO refreshing that the restaurant is fairly well lighted, but still has a very nice ambience...it's nice to be able to see what one is eating.,, especially when the food presentation is so artistic!"

  • "Got an email that they have a prime rib Sunday special. My wife and I love prime rib and not many places have it any more. We invited our kids to join us. The place was crowded, which is unusual for a Sunday evening, but, no problem being seated right away with our reservation. Service was extremely attentive, food was tasty and wine list extensive. Because I knew Fleming's is a Wine Spectator ranked restaurant I did not bring my own wine, as is my custom. I had 2 different excellent Cabs I had not had before. We had been here before and we will be back"

  • "This was the fifth time dining at this location. I am not sure if the management has changed or what, but this was such a different experience than in the past. I have often preferred to go to another local restaurant for steaks; not anymore! The service was second to none. If the pricing was lower I would eat here more often. The filet cut was not as good as other steakhouses but the bone in Rib eye was great ! About $200 for dinner for 2 with 1 appetizer (shared) 2 entree's, no dessert and 2 beers."

  • "We went with our family for a holiday get together. Prices are steep, everything is ala cart, and portions are small for the price. Nice wine list, decent service but not worth the price for our party of 6. We appreciate a good meal, but there are other places I would visit before coming back."

  • "We frequent Flemings in Scottsdale Arizona but this one in Lincolnshire Illinois was far from what we've become accustom to. The service was "OK", bussers were very attentive but the server had an attitude in our opinion. He approached the tables several times to offer the guys more wine and never asked the ladies if they'd like another cocktail. We had to ask! As well, the food was very disappointing; meat flavorless, potatoes room temp; salad was stupid and nothing better than any establishment that offers salads. For 1/2 the price we would have been fine - you get what you pay for, but the amount we paid, it made us think twice whether we'd be back!"

  • "While we generally like Flemings and the food is very good, we ordered a glass of white wine which was not only served in a very large red wine glass but was very small as to pouring. With the ample mark-up on drinks, this was very a very poor reflection on the establishment. Upon complaint, they did add to the glass but it was an unfortunate downer to the meal to have to address it."

  • "Food was delicious. Very pricey. They even did a very nice job with my birthday guests offering chocolate truffles as a surprise. However, our service was very slow. From start to finish, we spent 2.5 hours there. Is great for a special occasion when you have ample time to spend. And money. Great ambience. Great food. Slow."

  • "This is our absolute favorite place for steak but everything we've tried here has been great. Steaks are done exactly to our specifications...never over or under done. Consistently great service without pretension. The sides are delicious and big enough to share. If you have room for dessert, try one or two to share at your table and you will have topped off a great experience. We've been coming for several years and not been disappointed!"

  • "Everything about our experience was superb. The staff was attentive and the manager checked in to be sure our food was prepared to our request. We even made a special request that was not on the menu and our request was accommodated. It was a nice touch that they offered black cloth napkins to avoid the lint that often results from white cloth napkins. While we were enjoying our entree, the waiter made us aware of a special dessert offering that takes a bit longer to prepare and he asked if we might want to start the preparation."

  • "I'm not really a steakhouse person but Fleming's blew me away, wife & I split a couple of small bites (pork belly & the New Zealand lamb chops), then split a dry aged rib eye w/side of mushrooms. All meats were top notch, cooked perfectly. We really enjoyed our dinner."
