Fleming's Steakhouse - La JollaYumWe had the special of the day which was a filet wrapped in bacon perfectly cooked. The lobster bisque was scrumptious. Our server Bryan was very good. The only bad thing was a blueberry desert that was simply dry, tasteless and not up to standard for a Flemings. We each had a bite and sent it back with no problem.
Flemings is our favorite steakhouse in San Diego. Keep up the good work.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as always, but . . .Went for Mother's Day. Place was packed! BBQ Shrimp was excellent, but they were our of the bread that usually goes with it. Everyone's meal was exceptionally good, except mine. Ordered my rib Eye medium rare, and they pretty much forgot about the medium part. Still good, just not cooked enough. To crazy to send it back so I ate it. Still good, just not the way I like it. We didn't have much time for dinner, however it was an important evening, so we wanted to celebrate somewhere special. The service and staff were amazing and friendly - they completely accomodated us and made sure we were served on time and out the door as needed.
The food was incredible and I loved the chimichurri sauce served with my steak. We also loved the baked potatoes!
The salad was excellent - but probably too small to share, which we had done. We also enjoyed the warm bread served before the meal. Finally - the drinks were served nice and cold and the lemon martini tasted perfect!

We used the interactive wine list to select our wine, but our waitress was VERY knowledgeable and able to answer any questions we had about the wine and food regardless. The service was impeccable; our waitress had a great sense of timing that kept the dinner flowing but did not rush us and allowed us to enjoy our meal and each other. Our food was just superb. When we were seated they mentioned right away that they knew we were there for a birthday. Our server, Eliza, was outstanding. She was very knowledgable of the menu and even made some recommendations. We ordered the rib eye steak and garlic mashed potatoes. It was perfect for sharing. The blue cheese wedge salad with camelized onions was wonderful. After dinner our server brought my husband a box of the most delicious truffle with a birthday candle! No complaints at all. I had the New York strip which was cooked to perfection. If you know steaks like I do a really great cooked steak needs no sauce (A1, Heinz etc). Great staff, we basically had two waitresses who did a more than excellent job checking on us regularly. Very impressed with our experience. Also met Casey the manager who stopped by to chat as well. He provided a brochure with a list of Flemings in NorCal.
