Diner Reviews
  • "We really like this place ! The steaks were done to perfection (rare), as were the cocktails. Try the "small portion" seared ahi for an appetizer, but order it with the soy ginger sauce (don't know why the chef thinks hot mustard is good with ahi). It is awesome ! Our server, Alisha, was wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel truly special. For that matter, the entire staff works to make one feel special. We've tried more "trendy" places in Fresno, but frankly none compare to the consistent friendliness and overall quality of Flemings."

  • "Flemings is known for their great food but what really makes this place good for me is the staff. Gilbert and his staff are always very attentive and always serve up a great dining experience. Obviously you have to have a steak but if you want fish or chicken, they do that good too. Great wine selection but be careful not to break the bank on the alcohol...it can sometimes cost as much as the meal! Can't wait to come back."

  • "Steaks underdone; lobster well prepared; scallop done well; baked potato lukewarm; salad fresh. Service was beyond reproach and ambiance is always great."

  • "Keep in mind, this is a steak house so order meat. Would not recommend fish. Wine is overpriced, but there is a good collection of choices. Happy hour deals are very good as are the small plate choices."

  • "Our waitress was fantastic .A+ for her First steak was supposed to a dry aged Rib Eye. It was very wet and soft like it was just cut from fresh beef. I asked for rare and it was cooked perfect. I had to cut through 30% of the steak to get rid of the very soft and wet fat. The steak was so tough and full connective tissue I couldn't eat it. The graciously replaced it with a New York strip steak, cooked perfect, clearly a dry aged but to tough my steak knife couldn't cut through the sinews and silver skin."

  • "Took my wife here for Valentine's Day and had a great meal. Mind you, not the best food I've ever had, but very good. Service was friendly and attentive, ambiance was just the right level to have a nice conversation without having to yell or whisper. Would definitely go back."

  • "This was a combined social and business dinner. We have been here before and were not disappointed. Prices were higher than our previous visit by quote a bit and that was a surprise. Food and wine were excellent."

  • "Looked for nearby steakhouse on Open Table. Found Flemings and made redervation. Was not disappointed! Over the top service and surroundings. A little on the pricey side for frequent dining, but for special occasion and nice business dineers it hit the spot. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Fresno."

  • "Really disappointing. When you spend that much money on a meal, you expect the food to be amazing. It was good, but not worth the price. The service is amazing, and the whine list is quite well-rounded, but it's the food that makes the restaurant."

  • "Food was great. Service was great. My guests enjoyed everything immensely. The wine list was good, but some was priced way more than it should be. Bring your own bottle. One wine that I favor was 35% to 40% more expensive there than at many of the other restaurants I eat at."

  • "I'm 50 minutes away, so this is a special event venue. It is my preferred restaurant in Fresno. Friendly service, very professional, exquisite meals and wine parings. They accommodate us if we drop by without reservations. We expressed appreciation for the well-made martini so the bartender gave us some Luxardo cherries. Every time we go, it's special."

  • "The restaurant was very nice and the server initially seemed to have his act together. That was until I asked a question or two about the menu. He must have been new because he didn't know much. That's all right, I can live with that in the big scheme of things. The other things that happened I couldn't live with. Our dinner was delivered to the table next to us even though I was trying to flag down the assistant to tell him that was ours. Then my supposedly medium steak was blood red and had so much pepper I could hardly eat it (and I like pepper). They offered to recook it but at that point I didn't want to wait They did help us out price wise which was nice. With all that said, the steak was good but not as good as our old standby, RC."

  • "We knew going in the prices were going to be high, but sometimes you just have to go for it. Once I took my 1st bite into my dry aged Rib Eye it was well worth it! It just melted in my mouth! It was very loud! Service was great! If you have the means to eat here, DO IT!"

  • "Nice restaurant with good food and good service. Of all the chain steak houses, Fleming's is one of the most consistent places with good food and quality service. Other brands (Morton's, Ruth's Chris, McCormick) are comparably good in food and comparable in cost, but Fleming's servers are friendlier and just as knowledgeable. Chicken, steak, and salmon are good. The calamari appetizer is noteworthy."

  • "Excellent all the way around. We were a group of 10 on Friday, Dec. 27. They seated us in a smaller room in the back and not in the main room which was perfect so we could hear each other without yelling during dinner. We tried several appetizers: crab cakes, calamari, mushroom ravioli, shrimp. Each appetizer was better than the other. For main course, we had the special bacon wrapped filet with shrimp, porcini wrapped filet, sliced filet. All were outstanding and everyone was delighted with their meal. For dessert, we tried chocolate lava cake & walnut turtle cake & sorbet. Again, just wonderful. Service was excellent throughout the meal. Everything about this restaurant contributed to a wonderful evening."

  • "Food was great as usual. I was disappointed in the quality of service during my last visit. The waitress was not friendly and seemed uninterested in our table. Our table felt rushed to order. Our drinks took some time to get to our table and the waitress couldn't seem to get our orders right the first time. We normally have consistently good food and service at this location. I hope this was just a one time thing."

  • "Ordered the dry aged ribeye, lobster mashed potatoes, filet medallions, and seafood chowder. Chowder was good, with crab meat, clams, and seasoned well. Filet medallions were flavorful and tender, and lobster mash had good chunks of meat. The ribeye wasn't very good. Ordered it medium rare and seared - it was cooked ok but he meat was gummy and very grissled. Service was slow even though it wasn't busy. Our waiter was inattentive but the rest of the staff seemed professional."

  • "The men had prime rib; the ladies had petite filet mignons. Sides were creamed spinach, asparagus, lobster mashed potatoes. Desserts were a chocolate lava cake and crème brulee. Everything was cooked perfectly. They didn't charge us for corkage for the bottle of wine we brought. It was a leisurely dinner. The servers did not rush us."

  • "The ribeye was spot-on. The swordfish was good but not great. Sautéed spinach was very good, but the Flemings potatoes were a bit rich. Nice wine list. Service was very attentive, bordering on being intrusive. Both managers stopped by and left a card. Servers came by several times during dinner. The guy who filled the water also asked if the food was cooked properly. This was our first time at Flemings. A high quality restaurant. We will return."

  • "This was our third visit to Flemmings and most likely our last. Our first visit was amazing. The food superb, the service excellent, the environment wonderful. We knew we would be back. Our second visit was a disaster and our third disappointing. It seems that whenever this Flemmings has an event going on in their private dining room, they can't take care for the rest of the customers. On our second visit, they were overcrowded, service was very slow, even having to ask repeatedly for water -from the bus boy no less! The steaks were bad-dry, 3rd time, again had a private event going on and the service was again extremely slow/poor and this time the steaks were raw! We paid over $300 dollars for 4 bad dinners given up on Flemming's."
