Diner Reviews
  • "Good food but a little overpriced. Noisy around happy hour but later became more quiet and romantic. We went on a week night. "

  • "The meat (steak) could not have been better. It was delicious and done to perfection. The house salad was just okay, nothing special. I thought the potato was a little skimpy for the $10.50 price for one. As far as the ambience, the restaurant is attractive, but a little too dark (had to use a flashlight to see the menu), and the noise level is high. The service was excellent."

  • "Fleming's is one of my favorite restaurants! I love, love the food and ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "I had a great birthday dinner at Flemings last Friday evening. Our server, Keith, was wonderful, not only pleasant but very attentive! Thanks! This has been my second trip to Flemings in the past month -- never was there before and looking forward to more visits!"

  • "Food and service in particular. Waiter was attentive but not intrusive. We particularly enjoyed the new manager who was quite friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed the complimentary box of truffles at the end of dinner, a very nice closure to our anniversary. We definitely will be back again. Joan"

  • "My husband, son & I had a great dining experience at Fleming's in El Segundo. They ordered filets & I had grilled lamb chops--all delicious though we probably should have asked to go easy on the salt. My husband and I split our salad & my son liked his Caesar salad. We shared mushrooms & spinach because they are served family style. We also had wine by the glass that was fine for only $9. Our waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable & efficient. A pricey but memorable meal."

  • "Birthday dinner....lobster/filet mignon special was great! (Although not mentioned in the waiter supplied review of the menu options for the evening...) Appetizer was more eye candy than food and the solitary scallop was not a burst of flavor amidst the dotted landscape of sauces, the wedge salad and the soup portions were huge and very good. The main course included a medium to small filet cooked perfectly and a rather unexpectedly medium to large lobster. Our service was great and the food was too.....complimentary box of truffles for the birthday girl (tell them ahead) was also nice touch...drinks are always pricey here and not worth the $$...went 'early' (5:00pm) and the usual noisy din was not so bad! Would go again.."

  • "We had a great experience. Even the bus boy went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. The food was simple but outstanding. The only thing that we did not like was that the server put a creme broule on our bill and we had to have it corrected. Be prepared to spend a great deal if money there as well."

  • "The food was on par with what we would expect from a steak house. The service was phenomenal and we truly enjoyed our dinner and experience here. Definitely will be back! Steaks were cooked to perfection."

  • "Very good steaks. But every thing is a la carte. It's definitely a steak house. I would say that steak houses are a hold over from the 1970's when dining options were limited. Unless you really want a steak, it's not the best choice for quality food. The service is only good. We had a reservation, but had to wait still. And i had to remind the hostess that i was waiting. It took the waiter a long time to get our drink orders. And he forgot part of our order. Again, the steak was good, but other dining options have better service and wider menu choices."

  • "Lobster Mash potatoes were great, excellent. Generous portion for rib eye steak. Prime rib -- not as good as Lawry's Restaurant."

  • "We love coming to this Flemings. We are never disappointed by the food and drinks. Consistently good and our first choice for a night out."

  • "From the moment we arrive till we left the hostess, servers, waiters and manger were awesome. The food was great and the overall experience makes it easy to choose this restaurant on a regular basis."

  • "Every time I've been to a Fleming's the food is outstanding. And despite waiting 10-15 minutes before someone even came to our table to even ask if we wanted water, the service was outstanding. It may have gotten of to a bumpy start but they made sure to make up for it throughout the rest of the night. The manager was amazing. That is the kind of service that sets the bar high!"

  • "Overall outstanding! All menu items selected, lobster, King crab, tender loin, and dry aged rib, were cooked perfectly and delicious. Sides and dessert were also outstanding. Service was very good. Main dinning room noise level was a little high and across table discussion were a bit challenging at times. Highly recommended."

  • "Took my wife here for Valentine's Day, the food was lovely. We both enjoyed the 3 course meal, and the chocolate lava cake sealed the deal for dessert."

  • "Wonderful bargain and only on Sundays. 3 course Prime Rib dinner for under $40 - salad, entree, a choice of sides, and dessert. Quite a bargain and always delicious"

  • "The good quality has gone downhill tremendously here. There are so many other great options that do not disappoint for the price that we will not be returning. We had this same experience last time we dined here and tried giving it another shot but the food just was not good at all. Pork belly appetizer had more fat than meat, the rack of lamb was mediocre, could have made better at home and my husbands steak was completely rare and thrown back on the grill only to come back to the table charred like a brick. Only thing that saved our experience was our waiter. The ambience is also loud and the crowd is interesting to say the least."

  • "Finally I don't have to drive 25 miles away for great service and great food! Our server was George N, and it is the best service we had in the South Bay! The closest was Vegas at GR Steak... The food was amazing. I got the bone in rib eye with creamed corn and my girl had macoronni and cheese, both were my favorites. Cesar salad was amazing, dressing was very light and delicious. I tried anchovis for the first time. Had pork belly app which is amazing. Not to sure about your champaign spread for the bread though. That was the only thing that tasted odd and no pleasant. Unfortunately no room for desert. But the chocolate mints are amazing too!"

  • "Service was excellent; unobtrusive but attentive. Food was served at the right temperature."

  • "Made a rez for 7:30 and hostess couldn't sit us for 15 mins. Filet mignon was ok. Waiter was courteous. Wine was overpriced. Flemings is mediocre at best."
    Dined on 1/31/2014
  • "They sat us 20 minutes late without an apology. The place settings on the table were not complete (missing bread dish and knife) and this was never corrected even after bringing it to their attention. We had to ask twice for butter for the bread and for water without ice and this was delivered 15 minutes later. Our first choice wine was out of stock. Generally, the wait staff was inattentive and indifferent. The steaks were okay but not as good as pretty much any other steak house in this price range. They made us box our own left overs. And all this for $360 for 4 people. Pretty unacceptable."

  • "We went to Fleming's to celebrate a birthday, & had a lovely evening. The food & service were both outstanding. The restaurant was a bit noisy at first & it was hard to hear some of the conversation, but after a while we stopped noticing it. My boyfriend & his family are big meat eaters, and I'm vegan, & while it would be nice for every restaurant to have vegan or vegetarian meal options, as I always do in this situation, I ordered a few vegetable sides & was not disappointed. Also - I had dropped off a birthday cake earlier in the day & the server was aware of it & handled the "surprise" presentation nicely, and even added candles which was a nice touch. I would recommend Fleming's again for a special occasion meal."

  • "Made a special request through Open Table. Some places don't seem to read the notes you can submit when making the reservation, Flemings did read them and they had everything taken care of when we arrived. Food was excellent and the Sunday Prime Rib special they had is definitely worth the money (although I think this is coming to an end on Feb 2 2014). If you decide to self park, it is about a 2 minute leisurely walk. They have their wine list on a tablet and it also had a app that makes wine suggestions based on our food selection. We used it to select a wine to accompany the prime rib and it was an excellent pairing. Not an inexpensive evening but it is demonstrated in both the service and food. Hope you enjoy your evening."

  • "Great full course Prime Rib Dinner Special! Thanks for the $ 29.95 Special! Plus your dessert is not the mini sample dessert, it's a full serving. Keep it up and maybe have other specials..."

  • "I have never been disappointed. Their steaks are quite amazing. The staff is always friendly, and more than accommodating. I knew we were going to be late for our reservations, but they had our table ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Great food, great wine, great service."

  • "Came here for our anniversary dinner, and we were well taken care of. Started with the Pan-Crisped Pork Belly (awesome!), followed by the Prime Bone-In Ribeye and the Porcini Rubbed Filet Mignon (cooked to perfection). We finished with the Lava Cake for dessert (delicious). To our surprise, we were also presented with a box of chocolate truffles to take home for our anniversary, what an unexpected treat! Service was impeccable, with not only our server giving us frequent attention, but other wait staff as well (keeping our drinks filled, and our table clean and clear of empty dishes). Even the manager stopped by to wish us a happy anniversary. Fleming's indeed made our night special."

  • "Experience wasnt bad but wasnt good. Spending $240+ for a dinner for two should leave you with a much more of a "wow" experience which it did not. Waiter was more fluff then substance, long periods between visiting the table, not done eating when the bill was presented, rushed through the menu etc."

  • "The only way Flemmings stacks up to all the other big steakhouse chains is in price. Besides my steak being served well under the temperature requested, it was stringy, chewy, and, other than swimming in butter, lacking any flavor of its own. More specifically, I ordered the dry aged, New York strip charred medium rare plus. My steak was served uncharred and blue. Only highlight was the wine recommendation by our server. Personally, I will make the drive to the nearest Morton's next time I'm in MB and looking for prime beef. Not impressed!"

  • "Great beach cities steak house. The noise is a bit much, the food and wine do not disappoint, the service is always solid. The wine list is complete enough for most to find satisfaction. I recommend it but not for quite intimate conversations."

  • "Great food and impeccable service. Wonderfully cooked steak and well crafted cocktails. I was slightly disappointed in the creme brulee, it wasn't set, but still tasted great. Would definitely recommend..."

  • "Love the relaxed vibe, comfy booths, extensive wine list, friendly-attentive service... and steaks when they get 'em right. But we've been disappointed on 2 big holidays we've dined. NYE the lady ordered a bone-in ribeye med-plus and I a filet medium. Ribeye was served charred black/burnt! Inside was still mostly edible. Thought my filet was fine, but as I dug in it was overcooked and tough. We almost finished eating our steaks when a manager came by. We hesitated to say anything, but this was 2nd visit our steaks were ruined. Manager took the burnt steakbone to show the chef. We will return since our 2nd experience was so amazing, but probably not during busy days/times. If a Cabernet lover, try the Educated Guess - it's fabulous!"
