Diner Reviews
  • "My friend, Ani, and I wanted to indulge a bit with a nice steak dinner. I selected Flemings because I've always enjoyed dining at this establishment. And yet again, Flemings did not disappoint. Our server was incredibly attentive, the wine was superb, and every bite of food - from our appetizers to our main course to dessert - was delicious. Of course I'll go to Flemings again. "

  • "I had not been to Flemings in year. They have raised their entree prices substantially. The food was still excellent as was the service. However, at the current price point there are lots of other steak houses I would recommend before Flemings. Not sure I will return."

  • "We come to this Flemings about once a month for their Sunday prime-rib special. It is $39.95 and includes salad, prime rib entrée and dessert. In the summer the price drops to $29.95 and it is a very good deal. The last 2 times we've been there, the prime rib has been good, but not great. The service is very good and management is very responsive to any problems. Sometimes the place suffers from noise overload which is no different than any other restaurant these days. All-in-all, I recommend this restaurant for their prime rib special and for the service. If you like your prime rib, rare, rare+ or medium rare, you may want to consider asking for a room-temperature plate rather than the hot plate it normally comes out on."

  • "Great food. Nice, quiet venue. Wonderful sevice. But not a fan of pricey places where everything is a la carte. When I pay $40-$50 for a steak, I think I deserve a one or two sides!"

  • "I was very disappointed by the service. When we arrived at the restaurant the hostess was turned around sending a fax. She didn't acknowledge us or another person waiting. When she finally did, 10 minutes later, she told us she would let us know when she knew of a table available. 10 more minutes more passed and she still had no update, she completely ignored us being there waiting, never even offered us to wait at the bar of apologized for the delay. I was surprised with the wait since it was a Monday night. When we finally were invited to sit, we noticed the restaurant was empty, which makes me wonder why we had to wait for so long. The ambiance of the place is nothing really special, the food was just ok never worth the prices."

  • "While some of the food was disappointing and one member of our party sent something back, for the most part the food was okay. But for the prices, I expected something a lot better than okay. We joked afterward that the best part of the night were the valets who parked our cars. Unfortunately, while they valets were, in fact, great, what does that tell you about Flemings?"

  • "I used to love this restaurant. They had a lot of problems this night. Not sure if I would ever go back.. The server and the manager were great though. The bartender and kitchen need a lot of work."

  • "Nothing to write home about. Not worth the money. They got the temperature of my fiance's steak wrong TWICE.... when you're a steakhouse and charge 45+ for a steak you should get it right. He asked for medium rare it came out incredibly well done then when he got the next steak it was gray on the outside and blue on the inside. Our waiter was incredibly accommodating and was embarrassed because he could even tell that the second time it was raw. They removed the charge from our bill which was appropriate but I still don't think I would go back."

  • "I was shocked to have received such terrible service at this nice steakhouse. We arrived with plenty of time to have dinner before seeing a show. We informed our waiter right from the start that we were seeing a show. He promptly took our drink orders and we did get our drinks. Unfortunately that was the last we saw of our waiter. Over an hour after placing our food order, we had not even gotten bread at the table. Our waiter never appeared again. Our dinner never showed up and we had to leave so we would make it to the show in time. There was another table next to us that was also asking to speak to the manager. I don't know if the kitchen was backed up or if it was just our server but we left never wanting to go back there again."

  • "We went for dinner before catching the Book of Mormon. The service was fantastic. We were a few minutes early and were seated immediately. Excellent wait staff. We ordered two steaks from their newer styles section. My fiancee's steak was cooked to perfection and just melted in my mouth. I ordered the peppered New York strip steak which although it looked great, was very gristly. I had to discreetly take a few pieces out of my mouth. The molten chocolate cake was fantastic. We mentioned the gristle to our waitress Elizabeth without asking for anything and when she brought us our check, she had taken charge for the steak off completely. Mistakes happen but the way they took care of it impressed me. I would go back."

  • "After eating at a Flemings in in Winter park,Fl we decided to give the Boston location a try. The hostess staff was very friendly and we enjoyed a drink at the bar. The service started good, I like the wine list on the IPad, giving great descriptions of the wines. My wife ordered the bone-in ribeye and I had the regular ribeye. The good took close to an hour to arrive at our table and the steaks were cooked nicely. The bone in ribeye was a little disappointing as the sbone was tiny. We had creamed spinach and onion rings which were very good. You will not leave hungry but you will also not leave for under $ 125. Enjoy."

  • "They are way overpriced for the quality of food and service you get (or should I say DON'T get)! The chicken was rubbery and tasteless and accompanied by nothing, for $32! And the asparagus our waitress told us was enough for "two" barely had 7/8 stalks! Really !!! My husband's steak was mediocre at best and double the price of my chicken, and supposedly what they do!? The waiter and/or waitress, showed us an iPad sort of menu ordering thing w/o a tutorial and walked away. The waitstaff had barely a clue about wines when asked. The atmosphere was incredibly loud and distracting/overall a HUGE disappointment in my book ! Especially for the incredibly high bill !! THUMBS DOWN !! 1st time I've been disappointed enough to write a review!!!"

  • "Not only was the food amazing I never felt rushed and had a wonderful server who listened to our stupid stories after too much wine with a smile on her face! great atmosphere as we'll and fun to watch the chefs in the kitchen.. Cool set up!"

  • "This was one of my favorite restaurants till I visited this past restaurant week. It is quite clear that Flemings does not put forth the same quality service and food during restaurant week. As a customer who frequents Flemings year round I found this fact disappointing. There was shell in my lobster bisque and the lobster topped filet. Bread and water came out after our appetizers had been cleared off the table. Waitress did the minimal, I will be going somewhere else next time."

  • "Everyone has a bad night. Next time your waitress has a bad night, try to figure out every way to help your customer have a good night. Just because you finally bring the side dishes a half hour late hasn't really made us feel any better. Good move not charging for them, but with thousands if steakhouses to choose from, you need to give a good reason to come back."

  • "It may have been an off night but last Saturday, the food took forever to come out of the kitchen and when it arrived, it was not hot. The server however couldn't have been nicer - very thoughtful and apologetic. I would go back again on the chance that it was just a bad night for the kitchen."

  • "No table available for us at our reservation time so we waited for seats at the bar; ended up ordering dinner there... bartenders were nice but enough but the service was not very good. 45 minutes after our reservation time, the hostess came over; our table was ready, but we had already ordered at the bar. Burrata salad was very good, but there was not much to it. One small slice of beet and the rest greens with a couple of tomatoes. Ordered the dry aged ribeye. At $56, the most expensive steak on the menu... it was cooked nicely to medium rare but the steak did not taste very good at all. Tons of unchewable fat and the small bites of actual meat I was able to find were very uninspiring. Definitely not impressed with our visit."

  • "We made a reservation but still had to wait for about 45 mins. Steak and wine was ok but cocktail was awful. We ordered 2 cocktail drinks and both tasted really bad. Service was extremely slow. After we finished our appeterizers, it took at least 30 mins for our entrees to come out."

  • "Food was excellent. We did the restaurant week menu and it was delicious and filling. We try different restaurants and we like to rate them. This is at the top right next to Capital Grill."

  • "We were waiting for 20 minutes to get our reserved table. Then, between appetizer and main course, it was another ONE hour of waiting. My steak was cooked medium well instead of medium rare that I ordered but good thing the waiter exchanged a new one for me. The server even forgot to give us pepper until we called him in. The good stuff was salad, and cheesecake dessert. I did expect more for a fine dining steakhouse right in downtown since I have been to many other places in Boston and other cities."

  • "came here with a friend and we were pleased with majority of everything! the food was amazing. we came here for Restaurant week. I ordered the New York Strip Diablo that came with 3 shrimps, mash potatoes and green beans. I like my steak medium rare but when I cut into it, it seemed medium instead. My server John proceeded to take it back to the kitchen to change it but it seemed like it was cooked more but i was so hungry that I didn't mind. It was still very delicious with the sauce that was drizzled on top. My friend got the Filet Maxwell. it was outstanding. Although, the lobster, we thought it was going to come out at a whole piece without the shell but it came out as small shredded pieces. but still awesome experience!"

  • "We came in for and ate off the "Restaurant Week" menu. We came into Boston to eat at the most upscale/expensive restaurant we know for a cheaper price. We consider Flemings our go to place for special occasions and only go once in a while due to the high prices. Boy it would be nice if there was a small plate menu always offered like the "Restaurant Week" menu, because the truth is the food on the "Restaurant Week" menu was plenty, perfectly prepared and so enjoyable. If this was offered regularly, we would go much more frequently."

  • "I would without reservation recommend Fleming's for a fantastic dining experience. My girlfriend and I went as part of Restaurant week and had a complete blast. The whole staff was caring and passionate about their work. It was a great experience."

  • "Tried Flemings during Restaurant Week and found it to be good, not great. It was a decent take all things considered. Our server Emily was very pleasant and attentive. The filet lacked flavor in comparision to Ruth's Chris. The Ribeye W/ Shrimp Diablo was cooked to perfection (medium) The diablo sauce had a nice kick to it. Salads were crisp and flavorful. Desserts were nice as well."

  • "Had a very nice meal this past weekend. Nothing that is OUTSTANDING, nothing overly memorable. Filets were nice, but were quite small. The portion size must be a pre-cooked size as the 8oz Filet looked puny on the plate. It was seasoned nicely, was done to perfection, but nothing wowed me to say I need to be here again and again. Very busy on a Saturday night, not an empty table in the place, and people waiting, so they must be doing things right for the dining scene."

  • "Went here for restaurant week and overall enjoyed the experience, but a couple of major flaws in my opinion - 1. Brought the wrong bottle of wine - malbec instead of cabernet. We didn't realize it until after it was open and we started drinking it, so we decided not to say anything since we both like Malbec. 2. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was clearly prepared somewhere between medium and medium well. A steakhouse should be able to cook their steaks perfectly to the requested temperature."

  • "Unbelievable quality of steak and great night out. One of my favorite restaurants in Boston after the first try. Would recommend Fleming's for a night out with friends or date night! Thanks for also having one the best Restaurant Week menus in the city!"

  • "My wife and I ate here after seeing Blue Man Group. We were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation time which I find acceptable for a Saturday night. Our waiter did an excellent job in letting us know specials and details about the food/wine. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the portions were pretty big. I would come back to Fleming's again!"

  • "My husband and I went during Restaurant Week and it was excellent. We did have to wait about 20 minutes after our reservation time for our table but we really didn't mind at all because we went to the bar and had a drink. Dinner was excellent and our server was also great. Although honestly we won't be going here regularly because the prices are so expensive during Restaurant week it was a nice treat and the menu had a nice variety. I just think $11.50 for French Onion soup is kind of crazy, and the rest of the pricing was the similarly expensive. Wine selection was great and the wine iPad was a nice touch. All in all a nice night out but only during Restaurant Week or VERY special occasions."

  • "I went for restaurant week with my girlfriend and everything was good, but not great. Both our steaks were cooked well per our medium and medium rare request. However, for the price, even the restaurant week price, I would recommend another venue. I went to Ruth Chris' last year and thought the filet was much more tender and flavorful. Overall, not a bad experience but not memorable either."
