  • "The happy hour menu is excellent. Full size appetizers for half off. We started with the carpaccio and could have made that our meal. Their dinner special of lobster and fillet was wonderful. The filet was cooked to perfection, and the ½ pound lobster tail was sweet and succulent . The service was perfect. I did not even have to ask for more water, which was a pleasant surprise. Would highly recommend for special occasion or happy hour for a affordable quick bite."

  • "Food here is always terrific. While there was a minor blip in our last experience, this time Flemings was as good as always. Recommendations as always for the bone-in ribeye (perfectly cooked again), creamed spinach, lobster tempura (expensive, but oh my god so good), salt and pepper shrimp (a new surprise), and the cesar salad. Service is just top of the heap - friendly, timely, non-rushed, and amazingly kid-friendly given it's relatively upscale. Always recommended."

  • "1st time at Flemings, pleasantly surprised. Reserved through Open Table for my gal's birthday, special request for no cake or singing, just a quiet booth. Service was understated, cordial, just right for my taste on that score. Two great steaks, salad split per request. One of the best NY strip steaks I've had in a while. Great wine list( as others have noted, the iPad wine "list" malfunctioned), and really fine house wine by the glass at a much better value. Flemings is expensive, $8-10 for potato side, $7 valet parking? Not quite best value with such prices, but it was worth the splurge on this special occasion."

We had the mushroom ravioli appetizer, a Ceasar salad, a bone in ribeye, a filet, and sides of creamed spinach along with sautéed mushrooms. Everything was cooked to perfection and the only problem was having to carry all the leftovers home. Great dinner!"

  • "My wife and I went to Flemings for our third anniversary and this was the first time we have dined at Flemings. With so many great restaurants in the Birmingham/Troy area it can be hard to choose. Flemings strong point was the service very knowledgeable, friendly and fun servers. The food although maybe not the best of the best it was worth it and I will be going back. They have a great wine selection and give each table a tablet that allows you to use diffrent search options to find the perfect glass or bottle and if you can't decide the staff will help match a perfect wine for your meal. My wife had the salmon and I had the prime bone in new york strip both cooked exactly how we wanted and both very good."

  • "Took my husband out to Fleming's in Birmingham to celebrate his birthday. It was our first time there. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated. The ambiance was warm and rather romantic. Our server was James McPherson. He was very attentive and helpful with our dinner selections. Our food was delicious from our appetizer through our entree. The tomato basil soup was especially sumptuous. Because it was my husband's birthday he was given delicious truffles in a special box as well as a gift card for a future dining experience. We have a new "special place"."

  • "This visit was nothing extraordinary. The food was actually too hot, the heated plates made mash potatoes runny. There was little flavor to the halibut and lamb chops. I actually had to send back the halibut as it was over cooked, seared to toughness on bottom. Even the cosmopolitan drink was tasteless. So unimpressed this visit."

  • "The food was very good, however it is pricey. Thankfully we had a coupon to save $40. This was basically the cost of one of the 5 meals we ordered. This is a good place to go to for special occasions. My husband and 2 sons had the Sunday prime rib special that came with a soup or salad and a side dish. I had the filet mignon and my teenaged daughter ordered the small plate shrimp skewers. We shared the side dishes of blue cheese mashed potatoes, Fleming's scalloped potatoes and the mac and cheese. We had plenty of tasty food to eat. The bread and 2 flavored butters were excellent as well as the chocolate lava cakes and turtle pie that were included in the prime rib special. Complaints: steep prices and too much fat on the prime rib"

  • "My husband and I went on Saturday, March 15th for an early evening dinner. I had already heard good things about this restaurant. We had the filet minion with asparagus and gonzola cream sauce with sautéed corn and those famous onion rings for our main course. We topped it off with the caramel walnut pie that was to die for. From our service to our food the meal was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant for their food and the service by Jared."

  • "Flemings has been our go-to place for steak for years now. Recent changes have taken it in a very bad direction. I'll start with the good. Steaks are perfectly made, salads delicious, lobster tempura is outstanding, creamed spinach is the best I've had. Service is very good and accommodating to special requests. Unfortunately, penny-pinching appears to be at work. The steaks which had been steak-house thick are now more on par with Outback. The creamed spinach is now about 1/2 the size it had been. Alarmingly, these portion decreases come with increases in price. When my wife was trying to decide between two wines, the waiter offered her a taste of the one she hadn't had before. The bill brought a surprise - that "taste" cost $4."

  • "I got a gift card for Fleming's when I quit my job. My boyfriend and I decided to go on a little date night and go here for dinner. The moment we walked in we were greeted and asked for our coats. We were then taken to our table. The only thing I didn't like is that the table was set for 4, but there were only 2 guests (my boyfriend and I), and the waiter never took the other two place settings. We were immediately served water, bread and this amazing cheese spread. I couldn't get enough. Our steak was cooked perfectly. I have never had such an amazing steak. We also ordered a cocktail and wine and both were amazing. We also had the chocolate lava cake which is a must. The cake was the perfect end to our date night."

  • "Four of us enjoyed dinner last night at Flemings in Birmingham. We had a wonderful experience from the time we entered until we left. The staff was attentive and friendly. Our waiter, Michael, was superb! The dining room is elegant and comfortable without being stuffy. We were able to relax and enjoy a wonderful meal. From the Seafood Tower to the wine, to the main courses and decadent chocolate lava cake we devoured for dessert, we were impressed. We will be back!"

We visited during restaurant week and paid with a (discounted) gift card, also taking advantage of their happy hour at the bar. The food was very good and the restaurant week items were interesting without being too adventurous. Dessert was surprisingly large -- we couldn't possibly eat all of the sweets. Portion sizes on the meals were just right rather than the more typically oversized portions that are served at many places. The staff could not have been more professional while still friendly. Nicely done."

The waiter did a great job on making sure and glass weren't empty and making sure that we enjoyed our appetizer, main course and desserts. The food was very good, but our steaks were slightly overcooked (we asked for medium and they were more medium-well) but very tender and juicy. The sides were delicious, and dessert was as well. The overall price was what we expected and I would say typical for an upscale steakhouse. We would dine here again, no question."
