Fleet Street Kitchen, featuring the contemporary New American cooking of Executive Chef Chris Amendola, has consistently been rated as one of the top restaurants in Baltimore.

Situated near Harbor East in the historic Bagby Building, Fleet Street Kitchen offers an elegant farm-to-table, locally inspired dining experience. The menu is an ever changing collection of seasonally inspired selections with a strong emphasis on locally sourced, ethically raised, sustainable ingredients. Many of these ingredients - herbs, seasonal vegetables, eggs, and pork - are grown only 20 minutes outside the city on the restaurant's Cunningham Farms. The cooking reflects Chef Amendola distinct American style, rooted in classic methods while embracing modern techniques.

Accompanying and enhancing the kitchen's offerings is an extensive and diverse list of small batch wines, craft beers and specialty cocktails, along with distinctive coffees and teas.

  • "Gracious hostess, good ambience & menu design. Reality was a huge disappointment. we ordered the seven course "spontaneous" tasting (2 regular, 1 vegetarian). First: nothing spontaneous-- each dish on the normal menu. Which made it very odd that no one was able to describe what was served. Our head server, pleasant if not engaging, & two back waiters all seemed stumped, blurting out one or two ingredients. Technically, service was correct but slow. The first 5 courses were exceedingly slow. I could excuse this if the Chef was creating special dishes, but not for 1/2 orders. Food was ambitious in description, but nothing cohesive on the plate. Overrated, overpriced. Better chef needed and FOH needs serious menu knowledge."

  • "Honestly the nicest and most creative meal I've ever eaten in a restaurant on 4 continents of travel. The ambiance and service excellent. The menu creative and whimsical--you've got to try the celery root linguini. It was just such a good meal from start to finish. Will come back to Baltimore just to eat here."

  • "The food was very unique...have never had anything like it before! We had multiple courses (the 7 course chef's tastings), and EVERY ONE of them was delicious. The presentation of the food was elegant, the servers were very knowledgeable about the menu/ingredients used in each dish (along with being very attentive and friendly), and nice decor in the restaurant itself. Our party knew the executive chef (Chris), who made the experience a great one for us. Could not have asked for a better place to eat, and this will be a place we visit again! Thanks FSK!"

  • "I'll start by saying I love the chic rustic decor of the restaurant. The idea is to bring the feel of the owner's farm to this urban setting, and I think it works. The food is very good. I could quible that they try to put too many components on a plate, but everything was well executed and tasty. The cocktails are great and inventive, and the wine list is extensive and provides nice variety (though I think they need more wines from local Maryland and Virginia). Service was knowledable and intentive, but occasionally pushy. Stand out dishes in March 2014: ricotta ravioli, duck, celery root linguine, chocolate caramel dessert. I will definitely go back next time I am in Baltimore."

  • "Had a wonderful time and the food was extremely well done. Menu had a lot of interesting choices and everyone at the table got something different. I had the roasted pork which was done just the way I like it. Server (Raquel) was excellent. Knew the menu well and got into the spirit of the people at the table celebrating a birthday. We did luck out in that it was half price wine night and that actually made the wine prices more reasonable. If I ave a complaint it was with the wine pricing. Many of the selections were not well known and the prices were quite high. Overall we had a rally great time."

  • "We were in town for a conference and wanted a nice meal away from the busy hotel and surrounding area. Fleet Street was an oasis with warm decor, excellent service, wonderful craft cocktails and an interesting menu. Both my colleague and I had fish entrees that were cooked to perfection and well balanced. Definitely a place to come back to and I'd highly recommend it."

  • "Good service & ambience. Promising menu with a la carte, 4 course, & two 7 course tastings, one of which was vegetarian. Options seemed reasonably priced, at least in principle (we did not try either tasting). Selection range from delectable foie gras and black cod to a welcome multitude of intriguing options for the vegetarian gourmand. Execution, while good, paled in comparison with the creative offerings. The 7 course tasting might have rounded out the experience, identifying well executed options from those less so. I will definitely give this restaurant another try. The chefs involved have the creds to close the small gaps from concept to execution, and I look forward to a return visit to see that happen."

  • "We found this place to be very good. The prix fixe menu was reasonable and gave a variety of options. Despite other reviews we both found the portions sizes to be very generous. The menu allows you to choose 4 courses. I chose the scallops, the vegetable ragout, the dairy cow steak, and the cranberry hazelnut for dessert. The scallops and steak were cooked perfectly and the vegetable ragout was seasoned beautifully. My date got the parsnip soup, beet salad, rockfish entree, and chocolate tart for dessert. The chocolate tart was to die for and even came with some edible gold! The service was very good, attentive and quick. The music was not too loud and the decor was inviting. Had an overall great time! Highly recommend!"

  • "The food here is not commiserate to the pricing. We enjoy other Bagby Restaurant Group spots- LOVE Cunninghams and TenTen. Fleet Street seemed like a step below those two. While the food was all good, it was not excellent. The charcuterie plate was probably the best thing we had. Our table of 7 all did the four course meal and there seemed to be a few things in every course that seemed to stick out in the wrong way or was out of place. I don't think we'll be back to Fleet Street but will definitely continue to patronize other Bagby Restaurants."

  • "We visited Fleet Street Kitchen to celebrate a birthday. The cocktail list demonstrated variety and innovation. The wine list, presented on an iPad, contained detailed descriptions of the large selection of wines. The four of us each ordered the prix fixe four course dinner. The food was excellent, in presentation, taste, and portion size. Seafood and meat were prepared to perfect doneness. Service was attentive and professional. We will most certainly go again."

  • "Overall the food and service was awesome. Though all the dishes on the menu looked wonderful, we decided to do the Chef's tasting. I was a little nervous about not knowing what I will be getting... and spending $85 on; however, I was not let down. Every one of the 7 courses was delicious. I have heard from some that the portions in the chef tasting are too small; however, my husband and I found them to be just the right amount of food. By the entree portion I was still hungry, but after had just enough room to finish dessert."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. The food was excellent. She had the prime rib and I had the duck breast: Both were cooked perfectly to the requested temperatures. They were even kind enough to provide complimentary dessert for her. I would recommend Fleet Street Kitchen without hesitation."

  • "We were disappointed with the food after reading so many great reviews. Maybe we caught them on an 'off' night.......maybe the regular chef was absent? The noise level made it very hard to have a conversation. People keep saying it's expensive for what you get but I wouldn't eat there again no matter what the price was. There are too many great restaurants in the Baltimore area to worry with this one."

  • "The first thing about Fleet Street Kitchen that catches the eye is the decor. The exposed brick and hardwood beams bring an old world sophistication, while the marble accents and Swarovski chandeliers offer touches of modern class. The lighting was dark enough to be romantic, but not so dark that you can't see your date (or your food!). The style of the chairs varied by table, which sounds bizarre, but it worked. The bar is well-stocked and offers lounge seating behind the bar stools. In a fancy (but probably unnecessary) touch, the wine list comes on an i-Pad. The food was superb and creative (I recommend the pork belly and the poached farm egg). The service was prompt, knowledgeable (even with a food allergy), and courteous."

  • "Visited this restaurant during restaurant week. Went early to avoid crowd. Menu choices were ok, nothing to write home about. Service was good, but not very personable. We had much higher expectations of the place. Especially given the regular menu prices. The couple at the table next to us was told the chef would not make any exceptions or substitutions to the menu items. Give me a break. The two managers on duty walked around with their noses in the air. They did not have any interaction with the diners at all. Come on folks this is not the Ritz!"

  • "This restaurant was nice and the waitstaff very friendly. However, I think that the menu was a bit over the top actually-like the chef was trying too hard and so the overall impression was one where the food was too "precious". Very complicated combinations, but I would have loved to have some greens on my plate. I also thought it was a bit pricey. My husband ordered a glass of (admittedly very good) wine, but it was $17 for one glass! Anyway, overall very good experience just too pricey."

  • "My party and I went in excited and left feeling very underwhelmed. The food was very underwhelming, particularly the duck breast entrée. Other dishes that left our diners feeling "Meh" were the beet salad and farm poached egg. The lone highlight was the braised short rib appetizer, which was great. Our service was spotty and the waiter in particular was awkward in his interactions with. The vibe from front of house staff was pretentious. This restaurant is a bit pricey and for what you pay the value was just not there. With so many other comparable restaurants in the "Contemporary American" category consistently exceeding expectations, like Woodberry, Salt, BlueHill Tavern to name a few, Fleet Street simply wont get a second visit from me."

  • "Fleet Street Kitchen was recommended to us by friends who share our enjoyment of fine dining. So while in Baltimore for the annual craft show we decided to check it out. And we were very impressed. We started with a cocktail at the beautiful bar , and then moved to the dining room. We enjoyed the chefs tasting menu with a wonderful wine pairing. Everything was fresh & delicious & beautifully presented. We are involved as investors in a fine dining restaurant in Philadelphia....so we understand what it takes to make a restaurant great... And Fleet Street Kitchen seems to know how to do everything right. Our compliments to the chef & staff."

  • "the entree choices for restaurant week were very below par for this kind of restaurant- catfish and lambneck are not the usual fare here. Our waitress just could not fill us in on the 'seasonal' vegetables offered that evening. She kept repeating that they change almost daily and they are seasonal. After going around in circles we still could not get her to name any vegetables nor would she offer to go to the kitchen to ask. We ordered the chicken from the regular menu. There was no spoonbread on the plate the mushrooms tasted as though they had been dipped in salt! We just dealt with it until my husband got towards the bone in his chicken and the meat was closer to raw than to cooked. The server's response was unsatisfactory."

  • "This is my second time dining a Fleet Street in a 6 month period, choosing the restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. While the first meal was superb in every way, this second dining experience was inconsistent and a bit of a let down. We went for restaurant week and were very excited at the menu choices but found them to be drastically changed when we arrived (and on the first night of restaurant week)! We then ordered off the ala carte menu and while the food was good, it definitely wasn't to the level of preparation, presentation or taste experienced in October. The desserts, previously the hit of the meal, fell extremely flat. These inconsistencies have removed Fleet Street Kitchen from my list for special occasion dining."

  • "for the price, 250.00 for 2, the food was not spectacular. in fact, i would say the food was so so. would not revisit fleet street. beautiful and clean with excellent wait staff however the menu was uneventful. glad i had the opportunity to dine fleet street but would rather visit the capitol grill or any of cindy wolf's restaurants if i was going to pay this amount as i know the food is excellent at these restaurants."

  • "We were promised bread before the apps came, promised again as they showed up. The bread finally made it to the table after the apps had been gone for close to ten minutes. Sat there for another ten before the main course was served and it was way undercooked. I needed a knife to cut fish. The waiter attemped to make amends with a complimentary glass of the dessert wine, a nice touch; but, the damage had been done. We picked this place because the Sun's dining critic listed it as number one of all the places participating in restaurant week. So much for his credibility."

  • "Really unique and delicious experience from the beet salad (two different and interesting preparations - one from the Restaurant Week menu and the other off A La Carte) to the pork and the rockfish. Desserts were also singular in experience. The mix of flavors and textures were exquisite. This is our second visit and we will definitely be back when we need to celebrate or treat ourselves. We are avid wine drinkers and we able to easily satisfy ourselves with this list (even the single glass list)."

  • "My wife & I went to FSK after sampling fare from this establishment at Sante, a food & wine event, in November. We took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu. We started with the beet salad and cauliflower soup, followed by the rockfish and lambs neck. For dessert we had the cheese sampler and apple dish. ALL WERE AMAZING!! Our server, Hana, was also very pleasant as was the atmosphere. We'll return and will recommend this place to all our friends!"
