Fleet Landing Restaurant & BarBest Waterfront DiningDined at Fleet for lunch Monday May 13, 2013. Fried oyster platter was the best I've had. Oysters were large and not over-seasoned. Fleet Signature Angus Burger was terrific with pimento cheese and smoked bacon topping. Shrimp-n-grits was superb. Shrimp are local, not frozen overseas variety. We dined on the outside deck, and the view was terrific. Service was excellent. We toured around town and returned to Fleet Landing again for dinner. Excellent local oysters on the half shell, fried shrimp and seared flash fried flounder with apricot glaze finishing with the best pecan pie ever. The flounder with the sweet glaze was perfect for my taste.
The outdoor seating overlooking the water can not be beat for the view of Charleston harbor and Fort Sumter. The restaurant is a restored WW2 navy building and pier that extends over the tidal area and is one of the few eating establishments on the water on the Charleston side of the harbor. His recommendations were perfect and service was great; until he was distracted by 2 women at table. He spent more time flirting than taking care of other tables. Being outside was very romantic.
