  • "Well done seafood with a view. Excellent crab cakes and soups. Fried oysters were huge and hearty! Drinks weren't bad, but weren't special. Typical casual waterfront restaurant (and I mean that in a good way!). Definitely worth sitting outside - nice view of the harbor and the dolphins!"

  • "We eat at Fleet Landing frequently. It's one of our favorite restaurants. We have never had a bad experience, and enjoy their menu and view."

  • "If you like seafood and anything fried, this is the place in Charleston. I bumped into 10 different couples that ate here and no one was disappointed. I am a steakaholic, yet this place is a real find. Not fine dining, but fantastic food and a great waterfront atmosphere."

  • "We enjoyed Easter brunch at Fleet Landing. The food was delicious. The server was friendly, timely and appropriately attentive. And the view overlooking the harbor is fantastic! We look forward to returning during our next visit to Charleston."

  • "We live in the Charleston area and love food. We enjoy many local fine restaurants but i choose Fleet Landing for company when they are in town beause it is always good, not usually good. Fleet Landing Easter brunch has also been our family tradition for the last seven plus years. :)"

  • "My family and I had one night in Charleston and we ate at Fleet Landing. The food was very good, the service prompt, friendly and attentive. The women at the hostess stand were not particularly friendly (and one was borderline rude when I asked a question about our reservation). This meant my first impression waa negative but the service at the table definitely gave me a more favorable impression. The menu is primarily seafood and it was very good. Our kids also enjoyed the restaurant."

  • "The She Crab bisque was ok. Wasn't loaded with crab but passable. The fried platter was good except the scallops were greasy. They needed to be drained and patted. I expected the lowcountry grits to be doctored with a little something for taste but they weren't. All in all it was a good place for dinner. Would have been better if the weather was nicer and we could have sat outside. Parking is terrible. the lost is too small."

  • "Fleet Landing serves great food. Their staff is friendly and the service is quick. The atmosphere is awesome and I love the water view! Can't be beat! Only waterfront dining in the historic district. Perfect! They even have a parking lot!"

  • "My wife and I had our anniversary dinner at Fleet Landing. The hostess was inviting and informative. The waiter was prompt and offered a few wonderful suggestions for appetizers and even gave us ideas about entrees. I rarely step out of my bubble and try new things so I decided it was time. We order the Stuffed Hushpuppies appetizer at the waiter's recommendation, they were excellent. For entrees, my wife ordered salmon and I ordered the crab cakes. The salmon was outstanding. The crab cakes, something I had never tried before, were not my thing. However, I could tell that they were made with top notch fresh ingredients and my wife says they were the best she had ever tried. We had no room for dessert. Would go back."

  • "Great food and service. Very noisy. Our waitress great personality and on top of everything. The flounder was a surprise to be so large and tasted wonderful. Eyes around us were wide open when it was served."

  • "We had an excellent dining experience at Fleet Landing. It was a special occasion and Fleet Landing made it a wonderful evening! Our server, Elliott, was phenomenal! He was very helpful with the menu and suggesting appetizers we might like. Fleet Landing is definitely a new favorite restaurant of ours!"

  • "I probably wouldn't come back here given the other options in town, but it was fine. We ordered mussels (tasty), grilled local swordfish (excellent) and the waiter recommended the seafood pasta, which was both hit and miss. The seafood (shrimp, scallops, mussels, fish) were all cooked perfectly, and the sausage had good flavor. But it was drowned in a heavy cream sauce with a lot of cheap Parmesan-style cheese, which spoiled the effect. We finished the meal with pecan pie and ice cream; the ice cream was very good, the pie was on the sweet side, but tasty. This is a good casual, family place, but not a place to go if you are looking for a higher-end dinner. The server was nice at first, and then vanished, otherwise the service was good."

  • "The location is harbor front and beautiful. The restaurant was very busy, and very noisy and we really enjoyed our visit. The food - seafood with a definite Southern twist - was very good."

  • "This is one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. We have gone there numerous times and have never been disappointed in any way. Food, service, atmosphere are always superb!"

  • "Our main lunch dishes were great! Some local seafood and very accommodating to requests (broiled not fried fish). But of the 2 that had side dishes they were not up to par. Tomatoes and cucumber salad was in a pool of dressing and the veggies did not look fresh. And the pasta salad was dry, flavorless and was supposed to have a cheese in it but I could never find it. View, location and staff were great! Will definitely go back!"

  • "We arrived a little late for our reservation but had called ahead and were seated immediately, out side as requested, overlooking the river and marsh, just a beautiful evening. Our waitress was excellent and let us enjoy our coversation while still being receptive to our needs. The food was done perfect shrimp sweet and succulent as was the fresh catch. We have been eating at Fleet Landing since our son was a freshman at CofC and soon will graduate and have never been disapointed, We will continue to be a patron since our youngest is now a freshman at Cofc too."

  • "Good food down by the riverside. Nothing fancy but but has the river to distract you. Also has a friendly staff who aim to please. Nice place to knock down a cocktail while checking out the boating activity."

  • "We took out of state family here for lunch with the promise that it would be a great view, great food and great service. Fleet Landing came through on all counts. We had a reservation and were seated immediately with a water view. And as some have noted the dolphins on the river provided entertainment. Our server, Lucas, did a wonderful job of taking care of us. My favorite dish here is the shrimp and grits and it was excellent. It was our first time to order the stuffed hush puppies. Very tasty, but plan on one per person since they are messy to divide up and you won't want to share anyway. Everyone's food was cooked perfectly.d"

  • "Fleet Landing is a nice restaurant with an expansive menu of seafood items. The food was good and the service was very good. It is very busy and you need to make reservations or face a long wait. It is the only Charleston restaurant on the water so it is very busy. It is not fine dining but it is well worth the price you pay for a very good meal."

  • "Took my mom while she was in town. Glad we made a reservation because there was an hour wait. We got sat immediately and service immediately. Great service though out the whole meal. Food was absolutely outstanding. We both cleaned our plates and enjoyed both the main dish and sides. Sat inside, but still had a great view of the water. I would definitely recommend Fleet to anyone."

  • "We are locals and were told by several people to try Fleet Landing. We knew it wasn't going to be the typical higher end type dining that we prefer in Charleston, but wanted to sample it. It is on the water and has outdoor dining and that is the main drawing card. Everything else is just average. Be sure to have a reservation as it tends to draw crowds with its great location downtown on the water. Very loud also. Definitely would not call it a romantic spot. Large portions and reasonably priced. I would not return but it's just not my kind of restaurant either. Plenty of people seem to like it."

  • "We planned our trip to Charleston for months, and one key "to do" for us was to dine at the Fleet Landing. We had eaten here about 5 years ago and had a fabulous meal. I am so sorry to say, the meal we had was utterly disappointing. For a seafood restaurant, there is no excuse for overcooked fish. The sides of beans had no flavor and the rice was also overcooked. I will say the service was great and I love the atmosphere and history of the building. The bar service was great eventhough they were full on busy. Unfortunately, the Fleet Landing is off our list of great places to eat in Charleston."

  • "While all of the food was great and the water-front dining was splendid, the service was below average and left a sour note to an otherwise great dinner. Sad to take my wife here for our anniversary and have the restaurant not care that it was a special night for us. The fried oysters were great."

  • "My wife and I visited Charleston and went back to our favorite restaurant. We love this place because the menu is great and flexible for all tastes. From well prepared seafood to great burgers, portions are nice size, but not oversized. The atmosphere is very relaxed and we have never been disappointed in our many trips to Fleet. We are looking forward to our next visit!"

  • "There are hundreds of restaurants in Charleston, but we had heard a few good things about this one and it is right on the water,so that was appealing. It was casual and fun! Fried green tomatoes were different since they included some crab. I had the shrimp and grits and they were delicious! Also decided to have a drink and chose the Lemon Drop, perfect for a late afternoon treat! We went around 6:00 and were able to be seated right away, by the time we left, it was packed and the wait time was much longer."

  • "Ate there in early evening on outside porch. Very family-friendly. Service was excellent although delivery of food was a little slow. Wife had scallops which were numerous and well cooked. The grits and butter beans were also very good. My fried oyster spinach salad was excellent also. Will go again when we return to this fine city."

  • "Food was very good and presented well. Server was knowledgeable and courteous. Make reservations, it was a busy place but were seated earlier than our reservation time. Overall experience was great, walking distance from Downtown Charleston."

  • "they are stuffed with frozen imported shrimp. I and my quest found that to be unacceptable for this particular restaurant because it came highly recommended. the waiter also recommended this dish as an appetizer. its probably a great dish for tourists looking for something different. we decided not to order anything further from the menu thinking we would only be disappointed!"

  • "We were very pleased with: 1) the taste of the food; 2) the quantity of the food; 3) and getting our food in a reasonable amount of time. However, the place is pretty noisy, and definitely family- or casual-night-out. We were there with another couple, and so found conversation a bit difficult."

  • "We live in Charleston and wanted to try something new. We chose Fleet Landing based on the online reviews. I am stunned at the high marks this place receives. Our waitress was friendly, but lacked knowledge about the menu and seemed flustered. The wine was served in a tiny little cheap glass and tasted terrible. The fried oysters had soggy breading and were gritty. My shrimp were over-cooked and the "sauce" I paid extra for was a lump of cold butter piled onto 1 of the 8 shrimp. My husband's snapper was also over-cooked and lacked flavor. Our bill was over $100 w/o dessert. I can think of a dozen restaurants in the area where we could have had an amazing meal in that $ range (Magnolia's, McCrady's, High Cotton, Basil...) I will not be back."

  • "Loved sitting outside! Service was phenomenal, and the crab cake sandwich I had was very good. My husband loved his local oysters. But by far the best thing we had was the key lime pie. It was even better than the key lime pie we had at Kermit's in Key West...So good!"
