Diner Reviews
  • "Flavor Café is one of the very best restaurants in Sandy Springs. It is my favorite "let me take you to lunch" place. Their chicken tortilla soup is not to be missed. You can even leave out the tortilla strips and still enjoy this luscious dish."

  • "Our server was delightful, and certainly added to the evening's enjoyment. The food was delicious. It's a bit pricey for a week night out, though, so is to be visited on special occasions only."

  • "My Mom kept telling me about this place and I was hesitant because I had never had Persian food before, but I am so glad that I tried it. I normally get the Chocolate Chip Cookies (very large and soft) from my Mom so I highly recommend the dessert here. However, I tried the dinner menu and was pleasantly surprised. The Joo Jeh was seasoned with good spices, tender to the bone, and even though they are small in size, they are very meaty. I loved it and so did everyone that was in attendance with me."

  • "I just had to come back to Flavor and this visit was just as wonderful as all the rest. I love how fresh the food tastes. Compared to other Persian restaurants, I can definitely tell the difference because the dishes here are so much more fresh and they are made with better and healthier ingredients. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to indulge in Persian and/or Mediterranean food. Their sandwiches and salads are really delicious as well. My favorite sandwich is the Chipotle Turkey."

  • "We used to come to lunch at Flavor a couple of transitions ago. We had no idea the menu was now Persian. Nicely redone to approximate the new mood, pleasantly quiet for sharing a meal with friends, attentive service who really want to help and of course good food adds up to a very nice evening. The portions are generous, salads huge. The chicken was excellent, the salmon very good but a little dry, vegetables perfectly done, chocolate dessert a winner -- we will definitely return--soon."

  • "I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and each time the service and food have been impeccable. I was new to Persian cuisine when I first came to the restaurant; but because of the good food, I love it now. Everything had a good taste and was light on the stomach. The rice with the Saffron is awesome. I will definitely come to Flavor again."

  • "My business associate had heard good things about this Restaurant and wanted us to try it. We went there for a business dinner. The restaurant is beautiful and noise level was pleasant and perfect for our business meeting. The food was the best Persian food I have had and the presentation and service was great. The prices are very reasonable for the high quality of meal you receive."

  • "I desired to have a professional meeting with a longtime friend. The food was great. The service was very good. And, for us, most of all the noise level was very very low, almost nonexistent. The new management under the same chef has made a welcomed change in decoration."

  • "Absolutely fantastic spot for Persian food. Rumi's kitchen whom in my last visit burned my kebab and very slow service but Flavor had much better food and very proactive and responsive staff. I highly recommend Flavor over Rumi's Kitchen."

  • "We were very happy with the fantastic food, presentation and great service. The restaurant is very beautiful both inside and the outside patio. If you want great quality food in a friendly and nice setting, you must try them. In my opinion, this is absolutely the best Persian food in Atlanta. Highly recommended."

  • "Flavor is a delicious, pleasant surprise in Sandy Springs. Tired of boring, ordinary restaurents, We decided to give Flavor a try with some family members. For appertizer, we had Flavor special and Kashk Bademjon, they were both, out of this world. I had the Slotan's Feast for Entree', every bite was better than the last. This restaurant truly has it all, beautiful decore, excellent service and exceptional food. The best part is when you get the check. Very reasonable. Especially comparing to the other Persian Restaurants we have tried, like Rumi's which is unnecessrly, way too expensive and noisy. We will definately return to Flavor..."

  • "Was in ATL for training and six of us from class with all different backgrounds went to dinner at Flavor since none of us have had Persian food and the menu satisfied all meals, types, vegetarian to meats. The appetizers were awesome and so were the main courses of our dinner. The staff was exceptionally nice and responsive. At the end of the meal, we all agreed that we would come back, enjoyed our meals, and was completely unexpected."

  • "we usually enjoy Flavor very much, but this time we had a brand new server who made many mistakes, and the food was not quite up to par. we will go back, however."

  • "Grape leaves in the Dolmeh had an odd texture - like the wrapper on a cigar. I am used to more tenderness. Saffron Chicken Wrap was good but a tad bland."

  • "Great discovery for us! This was our first dining experience at Flavor and we were very pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this neighborhood gem. The decor is lovely with tables spaced far apart enough to enjoy privacy. The table settings were artistic and complimentary to the curves in the decor. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. The portions were large and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely return."

  • "We love his restaurant. Such nice people, accommodating, delicious, and acceptable noise level - especially on comparative level. This is a great neighborhood restaurant and we hope it keeps the delicious food and the welcoming attitude for many years to come!"

  • "We were four couples and had a great dinner. We started with the sampler plate of eggplant hummus and spinach. All were good. Then we ordered the chicken tandoori, lamb kabob, shrimp kabob. All were delicious. We have been here many times and my only complaint is the service. "

  • "Very good Persian food. Quite a local find. The kabobs were cooked to perfection - very "flavorful". Appetizers were quite tasty too - smoked eggplant, Shirazi salad. Excellent Persian pistachio ice cream sandwich desert."

  • "It was my husbands birthday and I know his appreciation foods from a different culture (both of us being Caribbean). This was the first time my husband and I had tried Persian food. From the wine, to the appetizers, to the food, it was all great. Our waitress Betta was very attentive and the manager came over to check on us to make sure we enjoyed everything. We were very pleased and plan on going back again. "

  • "I was looking for a quiet place for a business dinner and decided to give Flavor a try. We were not disappointed! Service, appetizers, drinks, food, presentation, environment and general attention were excellent. The place is really relaxed and they want to make sure you have a pleasant stay and great dinner experience without overwhelming the group trying to make sure everything is OK. My waitresses were taking care of everyone without having to call them. It was so good that I brought my whole family on the next day."

  • "The food was not that good and service was slow. Rumi's kitchen is 5 mins away and it's much much better."

  • "Wonderful evening in a pleasant contemporary setting. The eggpland appitizer, lamb shank entre and pistachio ice cream were excellent. Very fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed our meal with a nice shiraz from Australia. Excellent, attentive service by the staff and owner. We've overlooked Flavor for years and thought it was a coffee shop... What a mistake. We'll be back."

  • "People should flock to this place. I definitely prefer it to Rumi's. The food is super fresh and the service is on point. Unbelievable bread. The shish kabob was really tender-I ate too much. May parents loved the salmon and dolme. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely--not a foot wrong, and I rarely say this. I can't recommend it enough!"

  • "Having eaten here many times, we were very disappointed in the quality of the entrees. Appetizers were fine. Entree meat came out room temp at best, altho rice was steaming hot. Made me think the meat had been cooked way before and was just sitting. Also, it disintigrated into ground mush when eaten with very strange texture."

  • "Outstanding service and food in a beautiful restaurant. Owner on site, staff energetic and attentive. How did we miss this place for 10 years!"

  • "The grilled lamb is the best in town in our opinion. Tons of wonderful seasoned meat. The Flavor salad is huge like all their portions and fresh. Entrees used to come with grilled vegetables but now just rice and a roasted tomato. I'd rather have the vegetables and no rice."

  • "We have been to Rumi's just down Rowell Rd numerous times, but this was our first time at Flavor. We will be back. Food is very similar to Rumi's and we felt just as good, but without all the chaos, noise, etc. you get at Rumi's."

  • "I went to Flavor for my wedding anniversary dinner. I enjoyed the ambience and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I had a big salad, the lamb kabob (extremely tender) and humus for an appetizer. I would definitely return to try more dishes."

  • "I went here for lunch once and wanted to come back for dinner. Was still pleasantly surprised! You won't leave hungry that is for sure and if you love grilled meats that are tasty and tender and unique rices, this is your place. They have several Kabob dishes with several cuts of meat and spices. We started with an eggplant appetizer simliar to a dip and a yogurt dip served with fresh herbs and homemade pitas. The mains were a lamb shank and also their special filet kabob. Each dish had different rice accompanied with it. The desserts were also amazing, had the Chocolate bomb."

  • "Rave reviews 4 the food! Loved the interesting combo of spices in the stuffed vine leaves & the additional plate of fresh mint, basil, olives, et al that came. Hubby's shishkabob (prime rib meat) was ENORMOUS but cooked to perfection. The rice pilaf was loaded with lovely herbs. My salad was 10x larger than expected but had a lovely combo of juicy strawberries, soft goat's cheese, toasted pistachios, & pomegranate dressing on side. Dessert was the only slight disappointment-- the 2 choices that were more indicative of Persia were not available, however since this was only a few days after a major ice storm disrupted all aspects of life, we can't fault them for that. Chose a roulade with blackberries--still v. good but cake was rubbery ."

  • "Since Flavor remodeled and upgraded their menu, there has been a tremendous improvement. The food is excellent and presented beautifully. We had a friendly and attentive server. My friend remembered the old Flavor dinners with poor service and was reluctant to go back. Now he can't wait to go back, as do I. The food leans toward Mediterranean and high quality."
