Diner Reviews
  • "Bountiful buffet and large widely spaced tables make this a wonderful family brunch spot. Servers are always willing to help out with special requests."

  • "That Flatz is in the Renaissance hotel isn't bad news, it just was not what we expected. It's a lucky detail for the people who stay in this hotel - they can most definitely eat here with the confidence a good & interesting meal will be easily available without needing to drive anywhere. That said, we travel for work and when we're home don't usually go to dinner in a hotel restaurant, so that was a diversion. We did like the interesting menu full of Colorado specialties and the items we chose were good and tasty."

  • "I have dined at Flatz several times and the is always wonderful. One sign of a high quality restaurant is the temperature of your food when it is served. At Flatz, it is always hot off the grill. We also like the menu as their are healthy items you can order. Only negative is that 3 different wines that we had ordered before from the Wine List were out of stock."

  • "We went to Flatz for Father's Day brunch as we had friends visiting from another country. We were really impressed with the variety of foods offered on their brunch buffet. The food and service was excellent, I would recommend this restaurant to everyone."

  • "Excellent choice of brunch items (fresh fruit, soup, pancakes/waffles/omlettes to order, eggs, salmon, fresh oysters/shrimp/crab claws, fine dessert selection. Is in the Radisson hotel: stylish, interesting décor, not too "corporate" feeling. Good value for the quality of selections and ambience. Plan to return."

  • "We went there for father's day brunch. I didn't have the seafood but the rest of the party said it was just okay. That said, the rest was very good. The food I ate (waffles, omelets, bacon, sausage and breakfast potatoes) was outstanding."

  • "Had Sunday Brunch here for Father's Day. It was excellent, lots of variety of items, food was tasty and service was good."

  • "We were pleased with all the meals we ordered. Suprised and delighted, very happy with the meals. I would go back again. We went on a weeknight and it was super quiet. The service was great, the staff was kind and friendly. I even left my sunglasses on the table and they ran out to the lobby to find me to return them! Good people!!!"

  • "Food was mediocre at best. Salmon was very salty. Steak was bland. Restaurant wasn't very busy and service was slow. We had to ask about our drinks, as they still hadn't been served to us 15 minutes after ordering them. Lastly, we went to the host desk to request a shuttle. No one was at the desk. Our server was eventually the one who came to the desk. When he arrived, he asked us "table for two"? He didn't even recognize us after serving us over 1.5 hours. Once realizing his mistake, he stated "sorry, it all blends together after awhile". Would definitely go to the Meritage over Flatz. I felt like we wasted our money."

  • "I went to Flatz when they first opened and they had some bugs to work through and never went back so I thought I would give them a second try. I'm glad a did. Service was excellent, food was good though the cheese board was a bit of a disappointment. The restaurant was too cold which did dappen the night and caused the food to get cold quick. But, will go back again. Stayed for a dinner afterwards in the hotel lounge area. Service ok and I don't think the bartender knew his drinks that well. Looking forward to enjoying the outside patio in the summer."

  • "We never knew this restaurant was here until we saw it advertised for restaurant week. We decided to try it at the spur of the moment and were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the servers were very pleasant and helpful. We went on a Wednesday night, so it was not extremely busy, but the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. We had a great time and have already recommended this restaurant to some friends."

  • "Flatz is in a hotel. The atmosphere was quiet. The service attentive and very capable. The food was tasty. It was a great place for our group (5 couples) to catch up."

  • "Quiet nite for restaurant week, so courses were arriving quickly, had to ask waiter to slow it down. No meat choices on entrees, so disappointed. Overall food was okay, nothing special at all. Dessert was okay but needed sauce or ice cream. Not tempted to go back anytime soon."

  • "Went there for Valentine's Day and the food, service and ambiance were great. The only thing I would recommend its the they dim the overhead lights for a more romantic setting. We will have to try their brunch sometime."

  • "After reserving a booth we were placed in a small table in a corner and asked to be moved because we could not communicate because of noise. The service was slow and the food was marginal. Seriously doubt we will dine there again."

  • "Open Table generally gave reviews on Flatz, but my go-to (Urbanspoon) was less favorable, which I think may be unfair. We went to Flatz on Valentine's Day evening for a date. I was very surprised and a bit disappointed to see that the restaurant is located in the Renaissance hotel in Interlocken, but we were very pleased with the meal. For $90 price fix we shared a beef capriccio (delicious!), I had a salad (very good), wife had a soup (good), I had a chicken entree (excellent), wife had a filet mignon Oscar (very good), and we shared a bread pudding. (Not for me.) I had a glass of meritage and wife ordered a white sangria, which unfortunately came as a red sangria. Our server was the highlight of the evening."

  • "We were hopeful for a delicious Valentine's Dinner! They had prepared a prix fixe menu. The first two courses were actually tasty small bites. The FLATZ salad was basically oil drizzled over lettuce with a few blueberries, the taste of oil was overwhelming. My husband had the cavatappi with lobster and tomatoes, the presentation was awful, just a blob on a plate. It was not flavored well at all, was runny and lacked taste. I had the filet oscar, the filet was prepared just right(after the waiter had to come out and tell us they had to start over as they originally overcooked the first order), the fingerlings potatoes were burnt. We did not complain that night as the waiter was already getting beat up by another couple at the restaurant."

  • "The Flatz Restaurant is located within the Marriott Renaissance hotel in Broomfield, CO. Nice setting, including parks, hiking trails, shopping, and entertainment options. The restaurant has a pleasant ambience and moderate noise level. My wife and I had the Valentine's Day special menu, priced at $90 for two people. Good choices among the appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert groups. I had the scallops, my wife had the beef tenderloin. Both were tasty, presented well, with appropriate sized portions. Service was excellent, from a friendly and professional wait staff. I particularly note the courtesy and pleasant attitude of Sarah the hostess."

  • "We went to Flatz for Mother's Day brunch and really enjoyed it. However, the regular old Sunday brunch is dreadful. The selection was pathetic. In fact, aside from some fruit, bacon and crab claws, the only other edible options were omlettes, waffles and pancakes--which you had to have custom made. My family of four waited over 5 minutes for a "chef" to show up, and it then took well over 10 minutes of standing there to wait for our food. It would have been cheaper and far more pleasant to have a sit down breakfast. (After seeing the dismal array of food, we did ask if they had a menu to order off of, but they did not.) Unless it is Mother's Day or a comparable holiday, we will not be going back to Flatz for brunch."

  • "We had there extended brunch buffett on Christmas Day and it was lovely. The staff was warm and welcoming. The brunch was very good and resonably priced. I can honestly say it was maybe one of the best belgin waffles I've ever had. They had a lot of breakfast style food options from the pantry to the griddle The Prime Rib and the Ham were wonderful... I mean so good. It was lacking in side options. You had mashed potatoes and grean beans. Now trust me I don't do these dishes justice because they were wonderful as well, but what if you don't want green beans for your vegitable? BOTTOM LINE: I took my parents, my husband and my two small children here on Christmas Day and we had a wonderful meal in a warm environment!"

  • "The brunch here was very good. A moderate amount of options from eggs and bacon to shrimp, crab and a really good prime rib, mashed potatoes (to die for) and lots of fresh fruit. There were four of us from 83 years young to 28 and we all had a wonderful time. All the wait and serving staff were friendly, helpful and very nice considering they were working on Christmas morning. This was our first visit to Flatz but I am sure it won't be our last."

  • "We went with a group for dinner on Christmas Eve, and while the food was good, it seemed like the usual staff had been given the holiday off. We ordered a bottle of prosecco, and salads were delivered before it arrived. The waiter poured a sample into the place setting wine glass, and we asked for flutes. Reasonable request that a hotel restaurant/full service bar would have flutes available for beverages. The waiter was gone for probably at least 5 minutes to search for them, and at least part of the ones he brought back were warm. The wrong entree was delivered to my father and then returned to the kitchen. We refilled our own wine, which I would not expect in a restaurant like this. This visit just wasn't up to the level we expected."

  • "The quality of the food was good, the ambience very "Colorado", with beautiful chairs and interior design. The waitstaff were very informative and friendly, and that made a big difference as well. It was a pleasant experience."

  • "For a hotel in the middle of a commercial area, Flatz does a terrific job in both food and service. The menu uses some local ingredients and though not over the top creative is far more interesting than the normal hotel dining room. Plus the room itself is very light and airy with good views of the Rockies. I've stayed at this hotel many times and find eating at Flatz is a far better and more convenient experience than hunting down decent dinner in the surrounding area. We did a last minute booking for a family dinner of 8 people. They were very accommodating and everyone ate well."

  • "We didn't know when we booked our reservation that this is the Renaissance Hotel restaurant. Nevertheless, the food was excellent. The menu had many interesting and accommodating choices. The wine list was above average. The service was about average for a national hotel chain restaurant."

  • "This was my second time in one month enjoying Flatz's Sunday Brunch buffet. After my first time visiting, I just knew I had to take a group of family members that were visiting in a few weeks, and they loved it too! I love brunch buffets and this one has a lot to offer, even for kids. I will definitely be coming back, and probably in the very near future."

  • ""Evan" needs to find another career path. After being seated, and greeting us, he went and stood at the food counter and visited with the cooks for over 15 minutes, never once checking on us. We asked another staff member to have him come over and even then he walked by us 3 times before stopping. Someone else filled our water several times, brought our appetizer, and served us dinner. Then he let us sit there another 15 minutes while he spoke to the female staff. Again we asked for him but instead of coming over, he sent someone else. Another waiter brought the bill while he was back at the cook counter visiting. On a parallel note, the bar tender who served us at happy hour was outstanding. Go figure! Paul"
