Diner Reviews
  • "My wife and me stayed here for dinner. The restaurant is located at the end of the Espanola Way and we reserved a table for 8.00pm. After a Short Time Witting at the Bar we geht a Tabletten outside. We enyojed our dinner , bevause the startet and the Main course was very delicious. Also the waiter was very obliging. Thanks for a great evening"

  • "Didn't even eat! AVOID! We approached the restaurant where the hostess gave as two menus and sat us down.... down hill from there. The menu looked great value and a fabulous selection, but after 10 mins waiting I asked if we could get service. I was told that there was a problem but that a waitress was on her way out. Another 10 mins passed and we'd had enough so handed the menus back and left. Poor, poor experience, in what looked like a great restaurant in a fabulous location, damn shame"

  • "While on vacation we chose to visit this establishment. They were understaffed and had 1 waitress, who appeared to be very new, to service all the tables. After an hour the manager came over and told us that the printer that prints out the orders for the kitchen had run out of tape and no one noticed. He was expediting the orders. Food arrived luke warm and they tried to pass off inferior meat as prime filet mignion Avoid this restaurant at all costs"

  • "Came here on Valentine's Day completely expecting a long wait, slow service, and limited menu but was surprised to be completely wrong! Great food and great service even on one of the busiest nights out of the year!"

  • "We were in SOBE for the boat show and wanted to try a different restaurant. This one sounded good and we like the area it's in. We had a drink at the bar and got to know the manager a bit...nice guy. Then went outside for dinner. Appetizers were great and we were looking forward to some great beef as our entrees...unfortunately, that didn't happen. Mine skirt steak was okay, but my husbands steak was way overdone and sent back. The replacement was nearly raw and sent back. The third time was barely edible and we called it quits. The manager gave us a discount on the entire bill, but we would not recommend this place."

  • "My husband and I ate here on Valentine's Day. It was a great outdoor spot, with great service and food. The portions were great for the price. We had the French onion soup - very good, Pear Salad -tasty, Filet Migneaut - cooked very nice, very flavourful, came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and Salmon - on a bed of risotta - very large portion. Cooked very well. Ambiance was great, and good for people watching. Would return again. Highly recommend this restaurant. Where you actually get good size portions and delicious food for very reasonable prices. A rare find in South Beach."

  • "We liked it so much we went back the following evening again. Nice people, nice servers, and hostess Niani was very friendly. Food was good - especially the fresh oysters - outstanding ! Recommended."

  • "I was very dissappointed by this resturant. It had received good reviews, which lead me to try it, but the food, service and overall atmosphere was not up to standards. The bread only arrived to the resturant halfway thru the meal, the server, although trying hard, seemed to be his first night as a waiter. The beef was tough and the paella was dry. I would not recommend this resturant as there are plenty of other options in the area."

  • "I chose this restaurant after reading many positive reviews on line. We were not disappointed. The service left a little to be desired--- our waiter seemed very unsure of himself, and deferred many of our questions to the hostess. Our food was delicious!! Everything was fresh, and flavorful. Serving portions large enough to allow for leftovers. Would definitely return if in the area again."

  • "The food was really great. My CEO was in town and we wanted a nice casual place in South Beach to eat, Flame was a great choice. I had the Tuna and it was yummy. My coworker had a good ole fashioned bacon cheese burger and he said it was great."

  • "Our terrific waiter never told us it was 2 for one happy hour but that didn't matter. Our shared calamari was delicious. .the seafood paella was filled with seafood... The sesame encrusted tuna was plentiful and cooked just right. For dessert we shared creme brûlée"

  • "Smaller than expected, quite cordial / friendly. Food presentation better than taste. Think a little of everything on menu means not great at anything. Not bad, just, not at all memorable. Too many other choices to return here."

  • "Totally awesome place to eat. Food was great, wine was corked, but soon replaced. New server, so a little worried, but all very good indeed. Would not hesitate to return or recommend."

  • "Located at the end of very active Espanola Way. We ate outside and thought the ambiance was great. The foot traffic was high but not too distracting. The waiters were very attentive. I ordered the Filet Mignon and added a Lobster tail. The Filet was slightly dry but cooked as ordered. The brandy pan sauce was amazing. The potatoes, asparagus were cooked perfectly. My only issue was with the Lobster. It was soggy and cold. My wife ordered the skirt steak with spinach and sweet potato fries. Her meal was cooked to perfection. The herb and merlot marinade was delicious. For dessert we split the apple cobbler. It was amazing. Overall the experience was very good and we'd eat there again, skipping the lobster next time."

  • "Flame Caffe & Grill is a restaurant that you will never forget. Located on Espanola Way, one of the most versatile locations in Miami Beach. Great Food, awesome atmosphere, excellent service, and many more. If you visit Miami Beach, make sure you have dinner there with someone who is really special and you will be the star for your guest. My wife and I were there on December 31 2013 counting down the last few hours before the new 2014 year came."

  • "It's located at the end of the very busy and touristy Espanola Way. We're new locals and live just a block away. My fiancée and I were able to get reservations for New Years Eve. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they had a set menu that was amazing and included an open bar, including Absolut, which is what we drink. Everything was delicious. French onion soup, tuna tartar, surf and turf, chocolate soufflé and apple cobbler with ice cream. All were delicious and the set price was only $65pp. A great deal, especially on New Years Eve. I highly recommend this place and I'm excited to go back soon."

  • "My husband and I ate here on NYE. We chose Flame because of its location. The food was ok. I had steak and lobster. Neither was the best I'd ever had, nor was it the worst. We did have good service, and they make a really good mojito."

  • "Located in the middle of a vibrate walkable street in Miami Beach, the restaurant offers a good menu for affordable prices. If they improve their plates presentation probably could reach better rates."

  • "Our experience was lovely. The hostess and the waiter were extremely professional and friendly, and the food was superb. Even though the restaurant is on a touristy street called Espanola Way, I would go there even if I were a local. My husband had the skirt steak in a perfectly balanced wine sauce with goat cheese polenta. I had the New Orleans style jumbo -- perfect for a warm tropical night that featured sudden drenching rains! We wanted to sit outside under the tent and the staff made that work for us, very comfortably. We will definitely come back here when we return to South Beach."

  • "Fabulous find. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful service, food and drinks. We chose to return for a second visit because our first was so good and we wanted to try the steaks which were great. We chose Flame Grille over Smith & Wollensky! Sebastion is a wonderful, friendly bartender/manager. Highest recommendations."

  • "I was a bit apprehensive to make the reservations due to the mixed reviews but decided to take a chance because of the variety of the menu and price range (as we were treating out of town guests). I'm glad I did!! First, I expressed my concerns to management prior to arriving and they assured me the issues previously reported had been resolved. Understandably, most of the negative reviews were during Miami Spice and they admitted they weren't ready for the influx of diners. Mario, our waiter, was attentive and knowledgeable about recommendations. The food did not disappoint. Our selections varied from the burgers to the Surf & Turf and all were delicious, perfectly cooked to order, and of the utmost quality. Definitely will return!!"

  • "Have been to Flame several times. This time was a Friday, it was during Miami spice restaurant period, they participate, and they were not adequately staffed for the crowd. This interfered with service and food. The tuna was excellent as always, the fish special mahi mahi was small and overbooked. We will go back because this experience was atypical, however, we will not go on a weekend during Miami spice."
