Five PointsWell recommended by a friendThis restaurant was recommended by a friend who has frequented it on several occasions. I visited it for a mid-day lunch before going to an early theatre performance. The menu was very limited but interesting and my companion and I tried two items that seemed quite unique. They were both delicious and an entirely new experience for my taste buds. There were only a few people in the room mid-afternoon and the wait staff was friendly and helpful.
I would definitely go back for either lunch or dinner to try other items. It was as delightful to the eye as to the palate.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMust go for Brunch!I met up with 3 of my friends for brunch and everyone was tremendously happy with their meals. I was pleasantly satisfied with the food and the pitchers of mimosa were good too!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent venue. My daughterExcellent venue. My daughter celebrated with a party of 11 and my husband and I sat close by. The service was excellent and everyone seemed to LOVE it. Thank you for making a special night for our family.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious tastes!Everyone loved their meals and appetizers. We had radishes, asparagus, soft shell crab and the honey turkey leg apps. All were delicious with fun flavor combinations. Dinner was much the same steak and fish dishes with interesting sathuce/spice flavors. Not a boring plate at the table! The only down-side I would say was the ambiance. It was crazy loud for dinner (8PM) not good acoustics. Dinner, apps, and drinks was $85pp.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMconvenient lunch spotA bit noisy and crowded, but pleasant if slow service and decent food, honored our reservation time6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMMercifully quiet so you couldMercifully quiet so you could enjoy a conversation - in addition to other good things.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Stop After Blue Man GroupWe went after the show because it was nearby & the food was very good. Portions were good and so were the prices for NYC. We had the rice balls w/mozzarella and the fava bean hummus as apps, both very good. For main course the pork chop, scallops and steak were all delicious. There was a little timing issue with the kitchen on our entrees & the coffee should have been hotter during dessert, but we would definitely go back. Our waitress was very attentive & friendly.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAs Good As We Remembered It!Had our very first brunch date here and returned nearly 10 years later (with child in tow!) for an impromptu dinner. Great food and wine and a wonderful time made that much more special by some complimentary pre-dinner drinks from the very thoughtful host. Service was good although the timing of the entrees was just a bit askew (despite the server making several statements about how she would time the scallops to be ready on time.) Nevertheless the meal itself was fantastic. Tasty salad, oysters, pasta, and scallops between the two of us. A delight and one that we shouldn't have waited for so long to enjoy again - and certainly one we don't intend to wait for again!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWowThey honored opur reservation exacty on time, with many people waiting for tables. they served us wopmnderfully and the food was excellent.
Great experience. Second time for brunch.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Went for dinner with a group of 4 the other day and came away very impressed. Incredibly knowledge wait staff and absolutely outstanding food. Will definitely return again and again!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant restaurant with flairI loved the relaxed feel of the restaurant - easy, friendly. Had light dinner and a drink - no fuss. Menu choices seemed limited.
Hubby had the hamburger was very good. Too many fries - overwhelmed the plate. I had the beet salad, could have added some
greens to presentation. Pleasant decor - certainly would go back but would ask for a salad with the burger. Prices were very fair
and service was very good.
and service wa5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBest brunchBEST EGGWHITE FRITTATA I EVER HAD!
The citrus fruit salad also was delicious. I was late for my reservation and called and they held it for me. I really thought it was one of the best brunches I had in NYC.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMvery busy during brunch, bustlingvery busy during brunch, bustling eneregtic. We were seated in the rear which was wonderful for it was quieter, but still very nosy. The food was great, absolutely delicious! Very busy place!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMone of my favorite brunchone of my favorite brunch spots in Manhattan. Always look to try a different dish whenever I'm there and so far have not been disappointed by anything I've had.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time at Five Points. WeOur first time at Five Points.
We arrived early (before five thirty). The hostess explained that the kitchen was not functioning.
We were welcomed to a table and ordered drinks during the wait.
The menu was interesting and the food excellent.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFive Points is consistentlyFive Points is consistently good. We went for Monday lobster night. They were succulent. I've been here for brunch too. It's a real find.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI liked the ambiance and theI liked the ambiance and the decor. The service was excellent. The food was very good. My choice of food was the salmon Benedict which was enforced by my waiter by a thumbs up as I was ordering it. I also enjoyed my mimosa made with fresh Orange juice which is sometimes hard to come by.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were greatly pleased byWe were greatly pleased by the high level of professionalism displayed by the host and wait staff. The food was excellent and actually hot. One of our best dining experiences.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and Fair PricedThe Five Points was excellent as among the six people we shared the appetizers which were excellent. Of note, the potato pizza and octopus were great and the main course steak, pork shank which was a Flinstone size and Mackrel were very tasty. The Gelato was super and as good as any I had in Italy. Prices are reasonable and wine list extensive.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReally inviting and attentiveReally inviting and attentive staff. What threw me off a bit were the mussels - not over cooked but had a weird taste and were unusually plumped out. The sauce didn't support them either and wasn't the type that made us want to dip our fries in.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI haven't been to Five PointsI haven't been to Five Points in many years having tried out many of the other new and exciting restaurants to open. Decided to go to FP for a going away party since it used to be such a staple in my life. It was a wonderful experience. So glad I went back. Food was fantastic. Overall a great dining experience!!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA great solution to pre-orA great solution to pre-or after-Public Theater events. Interesting menu, well-prepared, well-seasoned food.
Great bartender! Unfortunately, we didn't get his name but he was personable, friendly, and attentive. We ate at the bar before going to the Public Theater. The pre-dinner bar scene was pretty noisy, but it thinned out quickly as people left or went to the main room for dinner.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA fine restaurant, a pleasureA fine restaurant, a pleasure to eat here.
