A word from Five Palms Steak & Seafood
Five Palms Steak and Seafood is the vision and concept of Nino Aidi, a veteran of the hospitality industry in Europe and Mexico. The main dining room features prime beef, imported pork from Spain, and a rotating menu of fish flown in daily. The dining room will be open daily from 5 pm to 10 pm. Formal bar is open until 12 am.

The upstairs bar, also known as Nino’s Bar and Grill, will feature a separate menu based on food from the Middle East, Spain, Italy, France, Mexico, and the United States. Nino's has an extended second floor patio that offers outstanding city and mountain views. Nino's is open daily from 4 pm until 2 am. Daily happy hour is 4 pm to 7 pm.

The Five Palms concept also includes a retail store offering wine, a walk in humidor, fine chocolate, and a large selection of gourmet food. Wine purchased in Dovino may be consumed on the restaurant floor at no additional cost.

  • "Enjoyed being in the beautiful restaurant. Service was excellent. Food was very average so quite overpriced. I had a Caesar salad which was 3 romane leafs sprinkled with dressing and croutons. Weird and not very good. Prime New York arrived cooked medium vs. the medium rare I ordered. My wife stayed with the appetizer menu and was much happier. We will go back but only very occasionally. "

As far as our dinner......the best we (party of four) have experienced in Tucson in a very long time. Prices are high, but the unequaled dining experience made it a value. We will be back."

  • "I enjoyed the decor of the Resturant. The waitress in the bar area provided excellent customer service. She was friendly and professional. The happy hour portions were a great price and offered a variety to select from. One dish wasn't good, the tenderloin gravy had too much vinegar in the sauce and we could not eat it, but the waitress promptly offered another dish. The lobster bisque wasn't the best either. Overall I would return to try the fine dinning for special occasion and try other dishes on the menu. The view was the best. In addition, the hostess was very friendly and professional."

  • "After a long Ohio winter, our family of 4 had reservations for the downstairs dining room which was beautiful and had a roving violinist. But the draw of sitting outside on the rooftop dining area and watching the sunset was too much. We quickly headed upstairs. We enjoyed the sunset experience so much that we came back the following night for a repeat dinner. The wait staff was friendly and the manager was really welcoming. She spent a lot of time talking with us about the area. We tried lots of different menu items. Mediterranean assortment and shrimp cocktail appetizers were very good. Salmon and sea bass dishes good. NY strip good. Petit filet was not as expected. Medallions with Bordeaux sauce instead of plain meat (picky eater)."

  • "Decided to have a nice elegant dinner out for our 17th wedding anniversary. I don't think we could have picked a better place. The ambiance was perfect with a violinist, low lighting and beautiful atmosphere! The food was outstanding! We started the evening with the Coquilles St. Jacques appetizer. It was seriously amazing!!! For dinner, my husband got the Ribeye and I the Prime Rib, both were equally fantastic and went well with a glass of Malbec. Overall a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back....hopefully before our next anniversary!! Thank you, Five Palms!"

  • "We dined for the first time here on our anniversary. My pork belly appetizer was one of the best I've ever had; it was actually too large, leaving less room for my main. My prime rib main was also very good, though they did not offer a rare temperature, which is what I desired. The green beans accompanying the main were advertised as haricot verte, but were actually just regular green beans. I substituted a dry, baked potato for the mashed potatoes, but they served me a buttered one. Fortunately they quickly replaced it. I had no room for dessert but desired an espresso coffee, which they didn't have. They also lacked specialty cocktails, which are de rigueur now at upscale restaurants, and had few (though good) wines by the glass."

I got the halibut and liked the idea that I could have it prepared one of three different ways. Also liked the idea of the wine shop where you could buy a bottle of wine (without a corkage fee) and drink it at your table. We will be back, but will probably try the happy hour."

  • "We have dined at Five Palms several times since it opened last year. It has always lived up to our high expectations. While the entrees are a bit pricey by Tucson standards, we save so much on the wine that we always feel we got good value. Wine is sold at retail in their adjoining shop. Having picked out a bottle, we are then seated, and the bottle is brought to the table and served. This time I had the veal porterhouse and my wife had the small filet. These were preceded by the scallop appetizer and the wedge salads. All were prepared to perfection and accompanied by the usual great service. For the wine we chose a 2010 Quintessa red blend from Napa which not only went well with the beef but also with the salad."

  • "Upon viewing other reviews, I made a request to be far from the violinist which was truly a blessing. He's very good, however very loud. Probably to no fault of his own. We had ceviche, the scallops, and the hummus as appetizers and all were delicious. The prime rib was great, however 40 bucks For a slice of beef, no matter how good, is a bit pricey. The ambience was nice even though moldings were made of plastic. We did not partake in the happy hour specials, however it would seem that this may be the less pricey option. All in all, a great experience."

  • "The entry way is decked out for the holidays and what a sight to see! We started our dining experience with drinks, not all that impressed, bar and cocktails not great however the wines were fabulous! We went in to the specialty store, picked wines for the evening then headed in for dinner. The service from then on out was stupendous, our server even brought out extra anchovies when he over heard my husband say how much he liked them.The french onion soup to start was the best I have EVER had and beautifully presented. A must try! From there we moved to entrees: salmon, chicken and steak all were seasoned and cooked beautifully. Unfortunately we enjoyed this all too much and could not try any of the desserts which all sounded incredible."

  • "Thanksgiving, and the food was fabulous. We came early to choose our own wines from the wine store on site, and then were greeted by Nino, and given just the table we wanted. Food was absolutely fabulous. Two of us ordered the turkey meal, moist turkey, great sides, and we ordered prime rib, the best we have had in Tucson, cooked to perfection, a restaurant much needed here in Tuscon. You have choices, fine dining, a downstairs bar, and an unstairs bar and grill, with an elevator to get you there. Has everything one could ask for. We love and are going back tonight. The G's"

  • "We were given 1 "complimentary Mimosa" then we ordered some of our food. 25 minutes later it arrived cold. I took 1 bite out of my banana crepe and that was it. We'd ordered some more food when that came but cancelled 'cuz everything was cold. Potatoes appeared to have come out of a bag, they just had that look. My sis orders "A" biscuit w/gravy but still received the whole order. By the way her food was also cold. We hadn't seen our waitress for all of that time either. don't know where she went. There were only 4 tables total, this wasn't good. They did come with a bill for the mimosa's but recanted that after asking them to re-think it. So, we left & went elsewhere. Sadly it was my birthday brunch and I was really looking forward to it."
