Five Palms Steak & SeafoodTucsonians need to DressHere we were esting a seventy eight dollar steak and the guy next to us had on sandles with his big fat toes sticking out. some of the guests didn't look like they had taken a bath. I know it's summertime but your going to fine dine....iron your shirt. Is there a dress code?6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat new Restaurant for Tucson. It is so far the best restaurant I have been to. The service is superb. Everyone is so friendly. Great decor. Good food and nice music. I have been speading the words to all my friends. We will be back for sure.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time visitFive Palms is a destination restaurant. Plenty of ambience, everyone was very welcoming, our waiter, Scott, was terrific. Lots of little touches, fresh onion bread was yummy and a violinist was playing beautiful, appropriate music and stayed in the background, which we appreciated.. Parking is a problem so using the valet is a viable option. Use the valet, parking is a problem. The food was nicely presented, generous portions and very fresh. Yes, it is expensive, but who would go to a place like that expecting anything else. No real options for vegetarians on the entrée menu.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOver the topA very nice dinning experience. Food was good, service was good and it was obvious that the intent was to make this a first class dinning experience. Some of the minor miscues, were too many people greeting you when you walked in, making you feel uncomfortable, not pulling chair out when seating ladies and some clumsiness in serving the food. Being that the restaurant is new, the shortcomings should be worked out quickly. The variety, quality and price of the wine in the wine shop is fantastic, but the process of choosing a wine from the wine shop needs to be better explained to first time diners. Again, the food was very good, but I felt it was a bit overpriced. The ambiance and decor were over the top.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous RestaurantThe restaurant is beautiful, food was good, service wonderful! Upstairs bar and restaurant was fabulous and has a phenomenal view!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMlovelyWhat beautiful, lovely setting! Gracious
dining. We'll be anxious to bring friends
when we return in the Fall.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOur Tucson FavoriteTop of the list with the top restaurants in Tucson.
The "view" bar upstairs was friendly, a fun place.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent DinnerWhile in town on business, a co-worker and I found this restaurant down the street from our hotel. Apparently, it has just newly opened. While the decor and atmosphere screamed "country club crowd" and the clientele reflected that assumption, the food was delicious. We both had seafood and were not dissapointed. The restaurant does have several different dining areas, some more casual, and we were told they have an expansive wine room (we did not check it out, just ordered a glass off the menu). The violin player walking around was a bit much, but the restaurant was open air and did not feel too stuffy. Not quite what we expected, but the food was worth it.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNo place like it in TucsonTo start, you have the option to select your wine from the retail wine shop. The bottle is delivered to your table and opened without a corkage fee. Red wine is decanted and simultaneously chilled. The fresh, hot bread, high quality olive oil and balsamic begin the fantastic dining experience.
Currently the menu is limited, but the owner has announced that the menu will be expanded later this month. Grandma's Tomato Soup is a "must try." The meat and seafood quality is outstanding and both come with choices of delicious sauces.
They have a gorgeous dessert cart and also have table-side preparation of cherries jubilee and bananas foster.
A strolling violinist complimented an overall great dining experience.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOld World Elegance & Fine DiningFive Palms was formerly Café Terracota for us locals who'd remember. The new owners have totally revamped the establishment and given it a very unique (for Tucson) old world elegance with dark woods, stained glass, tasteful art, décor and formal seating downstairs. The upstairs bar is more casual, but also very nice. We had fish and beef. All meals were prepared to perfection, tasty, served hot, and the service was impeccable. We had a stellar experience at dinner, sitting outside with a view of the Catalinas. They even brought a purse rack for the ladies which I've never seen in a restaurant before. Wait staff is formal but friendly, with a high-end uniform including vest and tie. Excellent fine dining experience. Highly recommend.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA great start to a new businessA great start to a new business in Tucson. Food & service was great, and the cosmos are the best in Tucson. i think we've found a new favorite restaurant!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful eveningWe met friends at the restaurant for dinner on a Friday evening. We were seated promptly and had a great waiter. He helped with our wine selection and then proceeded to bring the best wedge salad I've ever had. My husband and friends enjoyed their house salads. We all ordered various fresh fish dishes which were excellent. Our dessert was wonderful but wish they'd had more choices for dessert and perhaps something lighter than cakes and rich chocolates...Perhaps something light and citrus. The coffee was fab!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious, well-prepared meal,Delicious, well-prepared meal, lovely atmosphere, excellent service. We really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary there.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time foursome diningSetting a standard for fine dining in Tucson. Great ambience. Enjoy casual dining with a view upstairs and upscale romantic downstairs. We will be back!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, terrific service,Great food, terrific service, wonderful ambience. A wonderful addition to Tucson.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis new establishment remindsThis new establishment reminds me a lot of an 80s Vegas hotel dining room. Lavish appointments, supervisory personnel everywhere, and rather phony "touches" like the large glass wine decanter all made the esperience a bit out of kilter. The waiter was excellent, properly attentive, but not intrusive. The food was well prepared, obviously fresh and sauced well. The prices are simply astronmical, and the wine selection, though extensive and balanced, is also very pricey. There is a lot of simplifying and price reduction necessary for this place to survive.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThey've only been open a fewThey've only been open a few weeks, the menu currently offers 50% of what it will and there are definite growing pains but overall it was a very nice experience and we'll definitely be back. They have a great concept of stopping in their wine store and picking out a bottle, then having that sent to your table. The only problem with that is we had no idea what the menu was so we were guessing at the most appropriate wine. Once the restaurant is established and a menu is on-line, that will help. I would also suggest that a menu be available in the wine shop so diners can better choose their dinner wine.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI took special friends andI took special friends and it was our first time at the Five Palms. We all loved it and can't wait to go back!!
A great addition to Tucson!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Restaurant! Good Food!Impressive place - beautifully decorated. Great ambience, Great Service. Enjoyed the scenes of the mountains. Also enjoyed the smoke and wine shop. If you’re not into the whole formal thing, you can go upstairs and enjoy their grill & bar. We will have to come back for more!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMService was very attentive.Service was very attentive. Appetizers were outstanding. The ceviche was among the best I've ever had. The balance of flavors and textures was perfect. Please include this as an entrée on your menu. All four in our party were very satisfied with our meals and the overall experience. I ordered the sea bass, and although the fish was very fresh and cooked to perfection, the Five Palms sauce just did not work for me. Desserts were very good! We are looking forward to returning soon for another outstanding dining experience.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
