  • A Quiet Restaurant In Tucson

We enjoyed our evening here. It's really hard to find a Quiet Restaurant in Tucson and this one was. It was wonderful to be able to just sit and visit. The atmosphere was great and the interior decorating was beautiful. Service was very good, Food was very good but they have a new chef and hope the food gets even better. All in all a wonderful evening, we'll go back.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2013

Food was very low quality. The restaurant itself was beautiful but the food was barely edible, mediocre at best. The salad was tiny ($12) and was drenched in what seemed like straight lime juice from concentrate... barely edible. The shrimps were very dry and had a terrible fishy taste. Steak was mediocre, definitely not prime meat. If you are a foodie STAY CLEAR, you will be utterly disappointed. Not to mention the bill was $400 and the food was worse than outback steakhouse. If you like vibrant decor and chocolate dessert, then this might be the place for you. Service was pleasant however.

I read online about a 3-course dinner. We elected to sit in the bar area, not sure if that's the norm for this offering; however the food was great and our server was very attentive. From our table we could see a wonderful covered terrace with a view. Will definitely return with a group of friends for Happy Hour.

Made a reservation for Monday, Sept 1 - confirmed on opentable. Arrived to find the restaurant closed. This is unacceptable and unforgivable in my mind. Trying to find a new location for a special occasion after meeting at this restaurant was a huge inconvenience.

Wait staff seemed fearful of management; acted very nervous of management standing over them. Overall environment - unfriendly. Food was good for two of our party; bad for the other two. Caesar salad - poor presentation; two pieces of lettuce with dressing on top; ridiculous. My tenderloin, ordered medium well, was delivered medium rare; took ten minutes to get replacement. Prime rib had tooooooooooo much fat. The two other meals were fine; one fish, one steak. For the price paid, value was not there. WILL NOT GO BACK.

I was promptly greeted with a warm welcome. The staff was knowledgable of the menu and wine selection. The music was pleasant and soothing that enhanced the view of the sunset. The restaurant has a variety of rooms to accomodate any occassion. The General Manager gave me a tour of the multi-level restaurant and provided information on the decor, history of the architectural design, and other services they provide for needs of their enchanted guests.

This was by far the worst experience I have had in Tucson. Seated in front of a violin player. ( This would have been nice if he had maybe moved from table to table but he just stood there) Service was terrible. The waitress was more distracted with pouring wine than taking orders. No fresh catch of the day, no prime rib - at that point we got up and left. It was obvious this place was going to ruin our anniversary. We went down the street to Vivace with no reservations and when they heard of our experience sat us immediately at a table with a view. Stay away from Five Palms unless you just want to have a glass of wine.

We were looking for a restaurant that was elegant, quiet, romantic with delicious seafood and steak for a special occasion. We found it! We dined at 6pm to avoid loud crowds. The ambiance was perfect & views of the courtyard were beautiful. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was perfectly prepared in a light turmeric sauce served on a bed of rice. My husband ordered New York Prime Steak, well done. It arrived prepared as ordered, quite a substantial size and very moist, juicy and flavorful. It came with mashed potatoes & chives and fresh green beans. I ordered the creme brulee for dessert & was surprised to see it served on a very thin sugar cookie with fresh berries on the side. Best I've ever tasted! Overall a fantastic experience!

We had dinner at Five Palms this week in their dining room, and it was an exceptional experience. All meals were very well prepared (mine was an escargot appetizer and a prime rib that was huge), and I was able to buy a bottle of wine at their wine shop (a 2008 Barolo for $39) to enjoy with dinner and paid no corkage fee. Service was also excellent. After dinner we reitired to the roof top bar to enjoy a night cap and the view. We'll be back.

Very nice restaurant, romantic with a violinist playing while you dine. It has outside dining with misters if you like outdoor eating. It has an upstairs bar (we didn't visit this time) our meal was delicious, our server was prompt, courteous, attentive, and I had a request for the violinist and he asked him for me. They have a wine store that you can purchase bottles to take with you. The price is on the high end but this was a special occasion and I was expecting it to be. We will return in the future. Everything was great but the violinist was fantastic.

Waiter was unfamiliar with the evening specials. One would think a restaurant of this caliber would have a meeting at the beginning of the evening with staff to go over these items. We ordered parmesean oysters and receive oysters on the half shell. They were excellent however. A request for halibut sautéd in butter and garlic with rice pilaf resulted in the entire dish swimming in the butter. Cioppino resembled spaghetti sauce. with the seafood overcooked. Manager came to table to inquire as to the evening and when we explained the evening's events, she never returned. The restaurant is "high end" and has many flaws.

We arrived on time and were promptly seated, unfortunately we were not attended to for more than 20 minutes; no menus etc. We were about to get up and leave when a bussboy finally brought us some water and menus and apoligized for the inconvenience. All the while we were waiting for a waiter the main hostess and obnoxious "noisy" violinist did make eye contact with us... Humm. The only good comment about our experience was our waiter who was great and tried to make up for the poor introduction to our seating and being ignored for so long; his service was commendable. We won't be returning to this establishment!

Very nice decoration inside but some deficits include the rush through the meal. We received our salad before the waiter even brought out the wine to open and my husband was still chewing his last bite of food when they whisked his plate away. The noise was high and added to by the violin player right next to our table in the small room we were seated in.

My wife and I took a client out for dinner at Five Palms, after I made reservations a few people I know commented that the food quality was poor for the price but I thought I would give it a shot. The staff was very friendly and professional and the view was great, if they would have put as much detail into the food they would have a winner. Unfortunately I will be driving past Five Palms to a major competitor that is down the road. I ALWAYS try and support local businesses but they have to do their part.

While the ambience was superior, the service was poor. Our server forgot a number of items we had requested; steak sauce, asparagus, water. The steak (a double NY) was tough. I can't believe it was a "prime" piece. George, who oversaw the room, was quite helpful and was always checking our welfare. Conversely, our server rarely came by. We left disappointed. We will go back, but with some trepidation. This was an anniversary. I had ordered flowers - which were delivered on time by the florist. I had to ask the hostess to bring them out. This created an awkward moment for my wife.

Experience lacked a lot of what Fine Dining calls for. Waiter was very nice but lacked knowledge of the menu. We ordered Ceasar Salad for 2 to be made table side, it was not, it came from the kitchen on plates, very disappointing salad. Had to listen to a very upset employee yelling at the guy making Pizza (didnt need that).. The Restaurant lacks I guess ambiance or atmosphere..Violinist, nice touch but too loud.

Been their numerous times, and without fail, there's something wrong with at least one of the items we order. This time the risotto was far too undercooked, and to boot, it came out looking like something my 7 year old slopped onto a plate... nearly running over the sides. We had a bit of the ham leftover from appetizer, and asked for it to go. Once we got home, came to realize they neglected to include the ham. Personnel turnover seems abundant. As a result, waitress had to keep going back and forth to ask the chef about menu items. Overall, for a place that's been open for about a year, they've still not been able to iron out the wrinkles, and the place still stalls and sputters along, rather than running like a well-oiled machine.

Enjoyed being in the beautiful restaurant. Service was excellent. Food was very average so quite overpriced. I had a Caesar salad which was 3 romane leafs sprinkled with dressing and croutons. Weird and not very good. Prime New York arrived cooked medium vs. the medium rare I ordered. My wife stayed with the appetizer menu and was much happier. We will go back but only very occasionally.

I enjoyed the decor of the Resturant. The waitress in the bar area provided excellent customer service. She was friendly and professional. The happy hour portions were a great price and offered a variety to select from. One dish wasn't good, the tenderloin gravy had too much vinegar in the sauce and we could not eat it, but the waitress promptly offered another dish. The lobster bisque wasn't the best either. Overall I would return to try the fine dinning for special occasion and try other dishes on the menu. The view was the best. In addition, the hostess was very friendly and professional.
