Diner Reviews
  • "We always dine at The Five-0 when we visit Ogunquit! It has become a family tradition. Food and service always an A+....."

  • "We enjoyed every aspect of our dinner. The food and service were great. Everything was properly seasoned. The only thing we didn't love was the blueberry crostada that was on our dessert sampler. (it was a little dense) Stacey was very knowledgeable on the menu and provided great service."

  • "Great dining experience. Local ingredients and off the boat fish prepared in a creative and interesting way. Small plates for sampling as well as appetizers, entries and desserts. Knowledgeable and friendly wait staff."

  • "We went to eat for our 8th wedding anniversary and had a very good experience from the time we arrived till the time we left, our server was very attentive to all of our needs and was very good with her timing. I am not sure her name, we ate on July 22 at 6:30pm. we sat in the back of the room on a corner bench which was nice and romantic for the occasion. The food was very good. The only small complaint was that my Pork Chop was not what I had expected. I was expecting a thick cut and it came out very thin. I ordered it Medium and because of the thickness it came out a bit dry. Over all a very good experience and we will return."

  • "We used to frequent 5-O a few years ago and we returned for a nice night out a few days ago. Happily not much has changed. Good food and good service are the standard here. Valet parking makes parking easy too."

  • "After driving by Five-O a number of times, we wife and I decided to choose this restaurant for our 7th anniversary while vacationing in Ogunquit. We really loved the atmosphere both inside and out. If it was a little warmer, we probably would've sat outside but we ended up in the dining room which was still nice. We ordered the chowder and muscles for appetizers. The latter was great. Chowder was just okay. My main was a mackerel dish which was just okay. I was expecting a little more based on the description I was provided. My wife had a vegetable dish that had risotto with it, which was also okay. By far the best part of the meal were the muscles. If I were to go back to this restaurant, I'd certainly order another dish."

  • "Although we had several staff members give us water more than once, our waitress did not appear for at least 20 minutes after being seated. After that, service was poor even though we felt compelled to order everything at once."

  • "Have dined at Five-0 many times and this was the first time this summer. We usually go to their amazing wine dinners held throughout the off-season from September to early June. Our party of four was promptly seated at a table by the wall of windows. We shared some small plates of cheese, arancini and warmed olives while deciding what to order. I had the mussels as an app and roasted chicken for dinner. The mussels were in an artichoke broth and came with two generous slices of grilled bread, ideal for broth dipping. delicious!. The succulent chicken was over grilled asparagus and creamy mushroom risotto. The balance was perfect. Too full for dessert but those looked wonderful. Our server, Nick was attentive and well versed on the menu."

  • "My husband and I go to Five- O every time we are in Ogunquit! The food is excellent! The staff is very friendly. The bar is great too!"

  • "I booked this reservation for my husband's birthday. When we vacation in resort communities we've come to expect mediocre and expensive food. Five-O shattered that stereo-type for us. It is a restaurant, that if it were closer to our home, we'd frequent. The tuna tartar was inspired. The salads, fish, and meats, fresh and expertly prepared. If you want a nice night out on the town during your trip, this is the place to go! We also brought our four year old daughter with us. If your kids have good restaurant manners, they will do just fine in this dining room. The staff was warm and inviting, engaging our daughter in conversation, and helped to find something on the menu that she would enjoy, too. Don't miss it!"

  • "My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here recently. Though the server was friendly, the service could have been a little better. We were very surprised at how delicious everything was. The appetizers, the sides and the entree were all excellent. We definitely would go back."

  • "This was our third time at Five - O. We have been going to Ogunquit for 25 years for 4 day weekends for anniversary or birthday celebrations. Five - O has been on our itinerary for the last 3 visits. We like to get there an hour before our table reservation to enjoy the bar. The bartender is so much a part of the great experience. We waited for a table in the front window which was great. The food and service is wonderful. Looking forward to coming back."

  • "Normally we like this restaurant very much (dining here several times throughout the year) but we were a bit disappointed this time. My clam chowder was not fully cooked down so that the starch was fully dissolved and my main entry which was a braised pork pasta dish was very small. It was 1/2 the size of the other pasta dishes that were ordered at our table. I would still recommend this restaurant to others but I do need to express my disappointment in the meal this night. Service was excellent though!!"

  • "Five-0 never disappoints, food, service and atmosphere. it is a regular for our trips to Maine."

  • "This might be a good restaurant for lunch/dinner but for brunch it is not. First off they ran out of bagels. Unable to order that I ordered an omelet. Parts were over done and other parts were not cooked enough. It took a very long time to get the food. I will not be back."

  • "Very friendly staff, wished us a happy anniversary upon arrival. The food was incredible, from the bread basket to the small plates/soup, to the exceptional entrees. I wish I had room for dessert, as those options looked delicious also. We had a wonderful time here, and will definitely go back next time in Ogunquit."

  • "All the employees with whom we came into contact were very friendly and accommodating. Loved looking out at the crowds on Shore Road! The food was super and I loved that the portions were not too big. I actually had room for dessert and my cheesecake was a decent size, plenty for one person. I loved having valet parking, too!"

  • "Lobster was amazing. Prepared in a way I've never had and it was incredibly delicious!! Such a wonderful evening spent at Five O. I highly recommend it!!"

  • "We have been coming to Ogunquit for many years, and this restaurant certainly lived up to all previous reviews. Atmosphere, food, service all fabulous. Two small complaints: we were asked to settle up at the bar before taking our table, instead of being able to add our drink charges to our meal (what? so the bartender wouldn't lose out on his tip?) Also, we love a lively, energetic ambience, but the table of 4 next to us was over the top. Way too loud and raucous and their voices dominated the small space. Overall, we loved it though and will definitely go back."

  • "We had dinner on July 11. We were seated promptly at a very nice private table. We highly recommend the Blueberry Martini it was excellent! I ordered the lobster bisque which was the best I have ever had. Both entrees were excellent. I had the Yellow fin Tuna and my wife ordered the Beef Tenderloin. The service was very attentive. Although there are many fine dining choices in Ogunquit, Five-Oh is at the top of our favorite places. We will definitely be returning in the future."

  • "Lovely room, great service, food just didn't match up. Bolognese pasta dish very dry, gnocci too mushy & too many for amount of sauce. Calm chowder was delicious. Perhaps fish is the way to go there, not pasta."

  • "We were a couple dining over July 4th weekend so it was a bit busy and a Saturday night. The food, particularly the lobster, was all truly 5-star and expertly prepared. The service was perfect - attentive without hovering. Timing of courses was perfect as well. Not native to the area, we weren't sure what to expect with a reservation made late in the day for the same night. The experience from beginning to end could not have been better."

  • "We've been eating at Five-O for 10 years and have yet to have a meal haven't raved about. Our last visit was excellent."

  • "Not our first time here and will not be our last. Grass feed beef tenderloin was cooked a perfect medium rare with a flavorful char. Always a must stop whenever we are in Ogunquit."

  • "Hello from Montreal, Quebec! It's my 2nd summer vacation in Ogunquit and 4th time @ Five-O. By the way, Lisa the waitress was awesome! Cocktail time was fun. I ordered a Pomegranate Martini, which was tart, sweet & awesome! Hostess Tory was funny and friendly. The Maine clam chowder was an excellent opener, followed by a generous, delightful lobster linguini. In fact, it was to die for! I'm not big on linguini but this was outstanding! My dessert Blueberry tart with blueberry gelato (from Caffé Prego) was awesome. The atmosphere was very friendly, professional and entertaining. Ambiance was perfect. I will definitely return again, because Five-O is a top priority whilst visiting Ogunquit!"

  • "This place is truly special. Two reasons. The food is fantastic and the service from staff is amazing. They make you feel at home. We celebrated a very special anniversary and they treated us with the utmost respect. We can't say enough about it. Try it...you'll like it!"

  • "I loved the energy of this place. Menu was very interesting and varied. Kids enjoyed a few small plates which were perfect. The poached lobster entrée was cooked to perfection and had wonderful flavor. The vegetarian risotto was really a spectacular plate. I would recommend this restaurant to foodies and families alike. The waitstaff was pleasant and helpful. The service was prompt but we did not feel rushed. Location on Shore Road can't be beat. The atmosphere was energetic yet comfortable."

  • "Years ago we stumbled upon Five-0 and had an excellent dinner. Having been away from Ogunquit for a while, we finally returned for a weekend and decided to go back to Five-0. I wondered whether it would be as good as we remembered since we are now older, wiser, and have eaten at some of the finest restaurants in New York, California, London and Paris. Five-0 did not disappoint."

  • "We were here several years ago, and we loved it then- this time the food was mediocre, prices high, and the noise level was high but no music or ambiance. We felt like they were trying to be a trendy, hip restaurant but fell short. We were so disappointed as we loved our experience there in the past."

  • "Looking for a different place for a special meal, we tried 5-0 and were pleasantly surprised. Drinks were great as noted by others. Homemade pasta was perfect texture, amount, came out appropriately hot. Will definitely try again."

  • "Good place right on the main stretch of shore road. Food was really good but not great, solid menu with good options, nice atmosphere and decor, very quiet as we went on a Wednesday night."

  • "We arrived late for our reservation but no fuss was made and we got our favorite table. We started with a martini and they were happy to put some ginger in mine. In fact our waitperson was delightful and really helped to make this a very enjoyable evening. She gave us time to enjoy each phase of our evening. The wine list here is quite good. Some very nice choices. The young lettuces salad was terrific- just the right notes of sweet and piquant and fresh. I had a special which was the unshelled lobster. It was good. My husband ordered the special fish for the day- cod. It was spectacular. It was cooked to perfection with all the right seasonings that did not overwhelm. We give this restaurant a very high recommend."
