Made a New Year's Eve reservation for 4 on December 7th through OpenTable. Received a long-winded voicemail from Fish on December 29th stating that they hoped I was aware they were moving locations (which was not mentioned on OpenTable or the Fish website, so how would I be?), that the new location was not ready for dinner, and that I could come to an hors d'oeuvres serving from 9pm to close. Not a big help since we have newborn & toddler and needed reservation to align with tough-to-get babysitter. Left us scrambling for any reservation at all, thankfully Meritage on Lombard and 20th was able to fit us into a high-top in their bar. Meritage was fantastic, delightful tasting menu that had out-of-town guests raving. No thanks to Fish.

The scallop appetizer was out of this world. Their skate wing entree with truffled spaetzle is not to be missed. Brussel sprouts with the cobia were cooked perfectly. A wonderful blend of unique and familiar flavors. Interesting gelato and sorbet flavors including apple cider, parsnip and fennel (yum!). I would highly recommend this place to someone who is adventurous in trying new foods as the menu is quite small. Of course, must love fish...no meat selections and only one completely vegetarian option. Enjoy!

Our food was delicious and the fish was cooked perfectly, but be forewarned that the menu is extremely limited. If you are not a fan of fish, this is not the place for you. Non-fish seafood choices (scallops, mussels, shrimp, and lobster) appeared only in the first-course options. The main course choices of fish on the night we dined included cobia, skate, and trout. The service was excellent - both attentive and informed - and the atmosphere was cozy and quiet.

Food was great, but over priced for the location. Restaurant was small, decor outdated, very noisy, ambiance was not good given the cost of the meal. You want to become a place for high end special occasions, it naturally pairs with your cusine. Become the next Verti's, your restaurant has the ability.

If fish is your favorite food, this is your favorite restaurant. If fish is not your favorite food, you've never had it prepared at this restaurant. For our (myself and my boyfriend) first course we spilt the Mussels in Thai Curry Sauce and a Baby Romaine Salad. The mussels were so fresh with a perfect creamy texture and the sauce perfectly balanced we finished it with a spoon. The salad was lightly dressed with a deep flavored dressing that brought the tender greens to delicious life along with it's complements of thin-sliced root vegetable and wonderful cheese crumbles. For our entrees we ordered the Sturgeon & the Cobia which were expertly prepared and served atop perfectly-paired vegetables and sauces. Also, oysters, best in town!

So I went here with high expectations after hearing that it was a top 10 restaurant by Philadelphia Magazine. Someone clearly knew the food critic must have been visiting because this place did not live upto it's #7 ranking. Frankly, Fish turned out to be just another "Fish" in the "sea" of Philly seafood restaurants. Slow service. We had a 2.5 hour dining experience, for 2 people, in a half packed restaurant. Stingy on bread. Served 1 piece at a time, the slices were small, cold, and pretty hard/stale. Blue bay mussels were amazing! Skate Fish dish was over salted and had a monotoned flavor throughout. It was also weird texturally after they accompanied it with chewy pan fried pasta. Try the trout instead. Much more balanced/savo

Smoke from kitchen overwhelmed the place. Opening the front door for ventilation froze the place. Sevice was strange. There were 4 of us and three dishes came out, then the 4th took over 10 minutes to arrive. Same thing for appetizer and for entrees. Awkward. Food was good but not worth the other hassles.

Considering its name, there was a limited fish menu, and the dishes were good, but too ambitious. Too many flavors and things connected to the key ingredient - fish. Service was problematic, as our party of 4 never got any round of any drink or food together. we would get 2 of the 4 drinks and then have to wait a while for the other two. Same with entrees. Makes for uncomfortable waiting with your companions to eat, toast, whatever.

Went early on Sunday evening and was informed that the menu was small plate only on Sunday. It was absolutely phenomenal! Our party of four ordered 5 small plates plus a couple of salads to share and each plate was not only delicious but visually attractive as well. The wine list was more than adequate with many affordable selections. The staff was friendly and professional and very accommodating. Will definitely go back as soon as I can!

My husband and I had a terrific dinner at fish. The staff was very knowledgeable ( especially regarding the oysters) and the sommelier was just terrific. I had the skate, and it lived up to the hype, delish! My husband had the halibut and it was great too. Couple of small quibbles: the squash in the panzanella was just weird. Also, we sat in this small room in the back that is somewhat cut off from the rest of the room, our server was a big guy and his prescence just felt intrusive in that space - don't know what the solution is. Also, I think the restaurant should get table cloths to soften the space. I would definitely recommend Fish, though , great food!

The presentation is not so outlandish that it looks contrived. It is real food, beautifully presented and in portions larger than postage stamps. You will leave FISH satisfied in body and soul. A few comments on my recent dishes and experience. Hospitality-warm and engaging without being overbearing. The servers appear just when you want them and they are never intrusive. Atmosphere-Convivial and comfy. No stuffy pretense. The crowd is as honest as the food. Our Meal: First Course Barnegat Light Scallops with chestnuts, persimmon mou

Unbelievable combinations of tastes and textures on each plate. Octopus paired with seared fois gras and sautéed peaches with succulent scallops... so yummy! Also, there are six different kinds of oysters. We had never had West Coast oysters before, and they were creamy, plump, and served in subtle sauces that only enhanced the experience. The Sommelier was outstanding, and the wait service was phenomenal -- friendly, knowledgable, and attentive without being overbearing. I like to cook and I usually try to figure out how to replicate a remarkable dish at a restaurant back home. Fish had me completely stumped. There were so many interesting and delicious flavors on each perfectly portioned plate, there is no way I could figure it all ou

We have been to Fish several times and enjoyed it each time. The food and service were wonderful. Drinks were terrific. However, we were very disturbed by the number of patrons using their cell phones at the table. While not the restaurant's fault, the constant scrolling and texting at adjacent tables takes away from the specialness of a nice dinner out. We feel it's a societal issue and we guess it will have to get worse before it gets better.
