So it was my wife's birthday and she chose Fish to dine at as we always have a great experience there. Ian, the manager, always checks in to see how we are enjoying our dinner and gives us the latest info on his wine picks. One of the best restaurants in the area...

Proving you don't have to head into the city for a great dinner, Fish is consistently very good food in a lovely environment. I've never had a bad server - they are warm and attentive and the kitchen has its act together - food comes in a timely way. Not rushed, but all guests at the table served together, and each plate is fresh and hot. Perhaps that shouldn't be worthy of mention, but so many restaurants fail to get these basics right that it is such a pleasure to eat at one that really knows what it is doing.

My brother and our wives at dinner here on a Saturday evening, arriving at 6 PM. It wasn't very crowded or noisy but by the time we left at 8 PM, it was very crowded and noisy. The food was very fresh and tasty. In addition to their having 5 different types of raw oysters (which I ordered and love), I also had swordfish. It was cooked just right and tasted very fresh. The tables were spacious and the chairs comfortable. Overall, this restaurant was spacious so we did not feel crowded. The only thing that turned me off a little were the white paper table cloth covers; I'd rather have just a white table cloth without the paper. We spent $190 with tip for the four of us.

I wish I was able to give Fish Restaurant a great review, but we were very disappointed with the quality of their food. They were off to a great start with their service. The waiter was very friendly and he spent a lot of time making sure we were taken care of. We ordered the clam chowder which was the best part of the meal. The chowder was a delicious and served in a large bowl. Once we received the entrees, it was downhill. The portions were very skimpy for the price. Baked stuffed lobster was mostly shell and stuffing with little meat. The lamb chops came as two small pieces. One was mostly half fat. The manager had been by the table twice, but we did not see him after the meal. We left feeling hungry and cheated out of a meal.

We had not been to this location since the restaurant was Coral Seafood. We were looking for a local eatery for fresh steamed lobster. The menu online convinced us to give you a try. We were not disappointed. Food was wonderful, service was equally wonderful. We would definitely come back.

First our waitress tells us $1 oysters are no good (it was Sunday). Brought friends who had never been there. Asked if appetizer clams were to be served with their lobsters. Her lobster had one black and empty claw. I always get the tuna. It has never been that thin and was slightly overdone; I get it sushi style. Probably my 8th visit to Fish. I really hope it won't be my last.

My husband and I drive approx 30 minutes to go to this location for great dinner and great drinks. We always sit at the bar and we usually have Mike and Jennifer as our bartenders. They are stars at their job. They are friendly, funny and on top of things. You will feel like a VIP if they are working. The menu has a great selection and everything is at a decent price. This last visit we had the surf n turf and both were cooked perfectly. My favorite drink is the purple velvet. This restaurant also has great seating at table by the bar and the windows move so it is open to the fresh air which is a bonus!!!!

The hostess was incredibly nice. The waitress messed up our order and forgot one of the entrees. This was quickly corrected, but the tuna arrived raw. I have eaten fresh sushi grade tuna seared and cooked to order several times, but I was pretty clear that I wanted it pink in the center. My fellow diner suggested I send it back. I did not, but the waitress should have noticed that I barely ate it. The rest of the service staff was attentive. The overall decor and atmosphere were pleasant, but the food could use some work.

  • "FISH" restaraunt..out of fish?

we have eaten here before, in the past it was good, albeit a little pricey. when we went back for dinner 9/28, we got a great seat and ordered drinks. all good. but, when we tried to order dinner we were informed, without apology, that they were out of haddock, which effectively eliminated 1/2 of the food choices on the menu. imagine a restaraunt called "FISH"...with no fish! so i then tried to order the night's special, and asked that they substitue the side. i was again told unapologetically "no"... so we finished our drinks and went elsewhere for dinner... don't think we'll be back. if you are going to operate a resteraunt at this price point, you need to be a bit more accomidationg of your customers...

Main course was deliciously prepared--I especially liked the Tuna with Asian Noodles. However, it was a very noisy place--not the spot for a romantic evening or even for a quiet conversation. The kitchen forgot to include dressing on my very overpriced salad--just a small pile of greens with almost invisible dabs of cheese.

My tuna over noodles in peanut sauce was perfect. On the other hand, my husband ordered the braised short ribs which, while tasty, turned out to be more like pulled pork molded into a loaf. There were no bones, and nothing to cut. My friend, a native of Maryland, ordered the lump crab cake, and discovered that there were no lumps in the cake. Rather, it too seemed ground and shaped. Both were disappointed. The fourth guest enjoyed his haddock. I'd like to try again.

Our latest Fish experience was not great. How do you send out pasta that is so over cooked it sticks together in a ball?! We will not be back unless there is someone else in charge of the kitchen. The waitress & manager were great, - tried to rectify the many mistakes.

We stayed in a hotel in Marlborough, MA. Fish was recommended by the desk at the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at the lovely decor - a good sized bar area and tables for two, booths and window tables for four. Most of the tables had flowers on them It was a modern decor with whites, and silver. We both ordered the white wine special of the month. I had the crusted tuna - cooked perfectly and my husband had the halibut which had a wonderful taste. We shared a dessert - yummy apple and raisin cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Our waitress was perfect! While everything was top class, people come in casual attire and can order burgers and fries, salads or sandwiches. It was a delightful evening!

A group of us met up at Fish, the menu is great...if you're a meat eater. Please have more vegetarian options - recommending a salad and a veg side isn't 'good enough' for a restaurant of Fish's calibre. You have 1 option, please add 2 more.

We were seated immediately for630 reservations and greeted by our server who was knowledgeable when it came to menu items and the wine list. He was attentive enough without being obtrusive- a good mix for our leisurely evening. We started with grilled octopus - nice flavor and smokiness - and the cheese platter, 3 cheeses with quite different flavor profiles, served with a baguette, thinly sliced apples and grapes. The roasted salmon and the diver scallops were a hit, but the cioppino was the star of the night. In addition to the mussels and clams it contained a lobster tail and claws - a first ! The broth was rich and flavorful. Bacon begniets were the perfect ending to a stellar meal! Pricey but worth the service and experience.

We literally stumbled onto the Fish Restaurant & Wine Bar by accident after arriving in Marlborough via a three day car trip from Minnesota. (My cranky potential was high.) My wife wanted fish and I am a hard sell when it comes to fish. I was a commercial fisherman and lobsterman in the Florida Keys, so it can be said I am picky. The Fish Restaurant met and exceeded our highest aspirations. The food was fantastic. The Mediterranean fish soup was the best fish soup we ever tasted, and we make that statement in the context we have been preparing fish soup and experimenting with fish soup recipes for decades. Our entrée, included crustaceans (shrimp), mollusks (scallops) and fin fish (haddock). Fried perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
