  • "However, I was completely satisfied with every aspect. From the wine and appetizers, straight through to desert, everything was perfection. I am a very difficult man to please when it comes to eating out. The food was fabulous, both mine and my wife's. I will return over and over."

  • "My two friends and I had a wonderful meal at Fish Bones. Nice atmosphere, food with good flavor and nice presentation. Wait staff is very pleasant and attentive. I'd recommend this to anyone who desires seafood with some flair, priced comparable to other quality restaurants."

  • "The food was very good and the atmosphere very relaxing. Nice and quiet so you can easily talk with companions. Nice open spread out feel and not over crowded or sitting right next to someone else. A little on the expensive side but the food was delicious."

  • "I had dinner with my wife and two boys 18, and19. We come here frequently and really enjoy the great food and service. Tonight my son ordered the salmon which was over cooked. They took it back and before the three of us had eaten much of our dinner a new salmon dinner was in front of my son (perfectly cooked). We all can make mistakes. I was very pleased with how quickly they were able to get the plate out to us so he didn't have to eat alone. The rest of the meal was great. Thanks again to the Fishbones staff for making it it such a great dining experience."

  • "I have been going to Fishbones for lunch and dinner for about two years. I love their food! I am go glad I found this little gem. I was traveling to the Old Port when I wanted to go out to dinner. Fishbones is just as good, in some areas better. Though I miss the scallop and risotto plate- please bring that back!"

  • "We had the prix fix restaurant week menu and it was great. the brie and lobster pastrie was fantastic as were the sweet potato samosas. The cod was perfectly cooked and for dessert the apple caramel tart was terrific."

  • "I had been meaning to try this restaurant out for some time now, but never had made the trip. I decided Restaurant Week was as good a time as any. Now that I've been once, I an anxious to go back. The offerings for the special menu were very tempting. I took the special and my partner took an entrée off the menu. I had the steak and it was done perfectly medium, just how I like it. Accompanied by a glass of Malbec, my Friday night was perfect. The desert was splendid, but if anything, too big. The house made ice cream was excellent. My partner had the duck, which was a little on the dry side, but still tasty. The sweet potato was delicious. Our waiter seemed to be running hectic, but still very attentive and pleasant."

  • "I have traveled from Portland several times just to dine here. The atmosphere is very nice, the service very good and a great choice of things to eat and drink. Suggestions made by the server have always been very good."

  • "The main restaurant week menu was terrific! I had the cod and my husband had the steak. We each had the lobster appetizer. I I so had a salad ' my husband had am chowder. This was all included in the prix fixe me. I was so full after this I could not eat dessert which was so included. Food was plentiful & delicious."

  • "We do not often go out to dinner but when we do Fishbones American Grill is our first choice. There is a consistency that is unusual these days. From the generous basket of delicious breads to the delicious coffee at the end of a meal, the restaurant pays attentions to details and provides a warm and satisfying dining experience. I had the seared sesame seed crusted scallops with tender gnocci over butternut squash and it was amazing. The variety of textures and the combination of flavors made this meal an instant favorite. My dining companion ordered the bourbon salmon and was equally enthusiastic as was the third member of the party who ordered the mixed seafood grill. What a treat on a cold winters' night!"

  • "We had dinner on Feb 13th during a snow storm. Fishbones stayed open for us and we had a wonderful time. Service was great, food great also. It was a slower than normal night so we got extra special treatment."

  • "I have never had a poor meal at Fishbones. It is important to have a reservation on Fridays or Saturdays . . The portions at this restaurant are large, so keep that in mind when ordering multiple courses.. We ordered the baked scallops which were cooked to perfection. This entrée also had gnocci on the platewhich were delicious but added too much food to this delicious meal. The clam chowder (excellent cup size) was the best clam chowder I have ever eaten, which is saying a lot as I have dined at many restaurants in my 64 years. The chefs at this restaurant are excellent and we will continue to visit this restaurant every time we come to a concert/program in the Lewiston/Auburn area."

  • "Four of us attend the Public Theater in Lewiston on a regular basis and always look forward to dinner at Fishbones before the show. Their Panko breaded haddock is outstanding - always a treat!!"

  • "I have dined at Fish Bones American Grill for over 10 years. The food is consistently very good to excellent; the menu can appear sedate but the quality of the product, preparation and presentation never fail to satisfy. The converted Bates mill building is a New England gem-exposed brick, high ceilings and tons of character (but it can get a bit loud). The wine list is not extensive but what they offer is good. Foodies from Portland take note; Fish Bones American Grill is worth the trip."
    Dined on 1/27/2014
  • "The food is good, though heavier on the oil/butter than I remember. Restaurants are past due in updating their menus to accommodate gluten-free diners - take note. Service good but, again, not as professional and knowledgeable as I remember."
    Dined on 1/13/2014
  • "Very tasty food and the presentation was well above average: Good service and very professional: Excellent cocktails If you are in the Lewiston/Auburn area this restaurant is a MUST !"

  • "Third year ringing in the New Year at Fishbones! The owners are welcoming, the food was great and the experience enjoyable! Love the apple martinis!"

  • "As always, Fishbones is a gem. Food always good. Service, as well, was good for a major holiday night.. It's a favorite of ours."
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "We went to Fishbones for the second time. the menu is inventive. I almost think this time it was too inventive for my taste. I had the pumpkin seed encrusted scallops atop of butternut squash with gnocchi. While all the elements were good in themselves, the combination didn't quite work. My husband was happier with the salmon atop of squash as well. The clam chowder to start was good."

  • "This was my second time to Fish Bones and they didn't disappoint. I have been recommending this place to everyone I talk to."
    Dined on 12/23/2013
  • "We have eaten here a number of times through the years. Sometimes it has been good, othertimes, not so. But this weekend, the food, service and entire experience was way above average."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. The breads were great.everything was well prepared and attractively served. Will definitely be back."

  • "Fishbones American Grill (not to be confused with the chain) is a true gem. Consistently passed by because it is not in Portland, and worse yet, it is in Lewiston. Don't be fooled. Housed in a beautifully restored mill building (think exposed brick and massive beams) the only thing better than the ambiance is the food. I have eaten here for over 10 years and have never been disappointed. The menu is not as extensive as some hot places in Portland, but what they serve is always top notch. The kitchen changes offerings up across the menu to keep it fresh. If you dein to leave the pennisula I don't think you will be disappointed!"

  • "Service was outstanding; our waiter anticipated our dining needs. Ours meals were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The restaurant is decorated nice and is very comfortable. By far, our favorite restaurant."

  • "The food was fantastic, the service was welcoming, and the overall experience was wonderful. It made our night!"

  • "This was my first time at your restaurant. I ordered the "special" which was swordfish. The food was very good but I really think it was quite overpriced at $30. I would probably not rush back simply because it feels a bit out of what I am willing to spend."
    Dined on 11/25/2013
  • "Food was superb, wait staff one of the most knowledgeable and courteous I have met. My clients ,who live in town had not been there in a while. They left wondering why the had not made this a regular. I travel the U.S. and Canada eating in restuarants weekly. I nice experience for a small town"

  • "When we want a night out, or would like to take out of town guest to a special place, Fishbones meets the need. Never disapointed"

  • "If you are looking for top quality dining in the L/A area, go no further. Fish bones is top notch. Never disappointed!! Great atmosphere, fantastic food, and great service everytime."

  • "We shared the mussels which were very good, as usual. Then we each had the salmon entree. I thought it was great, although mine was slightly overcooked. My dining partner's salmon was perfectly cooked , but he felt the sweet potato mash waa too sweet. Thebread pudding was fantastic. We will be back soon"
