A word from First Food & Bar
FIRST Food and Bar located on the 2nd floor in The Shoppes at The Palazzo, brings authenticity and character to the neighborhood bar concept back to life, minus the kitsch. This hip, yet comfortable restaurant and lounge is set in the heart of the Las Vegas strip and has the vibe of a late-night spot blended with the casualness of a local eatery.
From the high, open ceilings to the tribal tattoo imagery embedded in the floor, FIRST reflects an industrial, urban design. The furniture mashes up styles that are modern, vinatge, and gothic set to a palette of dark, warm colors making the more than 10,000 square foot restaurant feel intimate and edgy. With floor to ceiling windows overlooking Las Vegas Blvd. The menu features American eats and drinks created by Executive Chef Sam DeMarco. Delicious, affordable and familiar are on the menu year round.

Ordered the steak frittes. I had ordered this last time (a while ago) and they messed it up. They messed it up this time as well. If you cannot cook a flat steak properly, take it off the menu! The other food was good, but would not go back.

My co-workers & I wanted to end a long week with a great dinner & we succeeded! We had a great table overlooking Las Vegas Blvd and the food was amazing. 2 of us ordered appetizers to share & were happy with our choices, The goat cheese soufflé was to die for and my favorite thing! The waitress was fun & very helpful! Looking forward to going back & trying other things!

A bit difficult to find, down a long hallway where the Venetian and Palazzo connect. Bar atmosphere with tables overlooking a bit of the strip. Seemed on the quieter side considering there was a big show in town, but that was fine with us. We opted for a bunch of appetizers instead of a meal. The food was tasty. Still over $110 for 2 people, First Food and Bar is not inexpensive. I would go back.

While the menu options were superb and the food was outstanding, the service left much to be desired and really detracted from my experience. Our waiter did not give us his name, did not offer any recommendations and brought the check to the table without offering a dessert menu or additional drinks following dinner. We had to request the dessert menu to be able to order dessert. I expected better service from a place that offers these prices. I might return but only with a gift certificate or other comparable incentive.

We had reservations for 7:30, we arrived at 7:34. We were told rather unpleasantly by the extremely unfriendly hostess, that our table had been given away to someone who was on time for their reservation and we would now have to wait for 15 minutes for a new table. I did find it odd however, as most restaurants hold your reservation for 15 mins. We spent an hour waiting in the bar and were finally seated. We waited for 10 mins before the manager came to take our drink order. We only saw our waitress twice and one time being she. She dropped off the bill. Otherwise the manager would take pity on us and ask if we needed anything. Food was good, 20% gratuity on our cheque for a waitress who didn't serve us was unacceptable. Will never return

Been to First many times, and this visit was a let down. We went for Sunday brunch, and the service was less that good. We were not asked if we wanted bloody mary's or mimosa, our waitress was hard to find, bad considering there was about 10 people in the place. They changed the chicken and waffles, its on the bone now, and was greasy and not as good as before. Waited a long time for the check and an even longer time for her to come and get it. As this was first bad visit out of 5, we will go again.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 12/29/2012
Facing the TI, First's view is of all the hustle and bustle the Strip can provide. Classic "American" dishes, updated to reflect seasonal my's vision make the view entirely superfluous. I'd eat here if it was a basement facing an A/C unit. It's noisy and visually busy. If you are looking for relaxed and mellow, this is NOT the place. But if you are looking for a place to start your evening/move into another level of energy or to move past that ache in your brainpan, First does it. Try the "Little sips"! $5.00 and superbly tasty!

The philly cheesesteak dumplings were delicious. The pulled pork egg rolls were very tasty but would have been excellent if not smothered with cole slaw on top. If the coleslaw was on the side this also would have been a winner dish. We ordered the lobster rolls and received a roll chopped into four pieces. This would have been a good dish because it had plenty of lobster except for the fact that the roll was deep fried and dripping in oil. We ended up eating with the lobster out of the roll. The Doritos Mac N Cheese, a restaurant signature dish, was basically a thin cheese suaced with crushed doritos on top. The dish would have been better with fewer doritos and a thicker cheese. Bring you earplugs due to the blaring, pounding music

My fiancé and I went there on a Friday. They gave us a table looking over the Strip which was an amazing view. The bar was happening and the DJ was playing great music. We loved "Sammy's Hit List" or something it was called but samples of their apps. I would recommend ordering a few things on the menu like Tapas style. We expected the service to be somewhat snobby but our server was very attentive. We will definitely go back there.

At 1:00 in the afternoon the music was so loud it was as if we were in an actual night club, yet it is not. The music was so loud our booth was vibrating and every table around us, including ourselves were basically yelling in order to have a conversation with one another. Plus for a Saturday around lunch time, this place was dead and only had about 6 tables with guests. The decor and appearance of this place seems really cool, however, the food left MUCH to be desired. Won't be coming back here unless they get rid of the mid-afternoon DJ and the quality of the food reflects the high price points. Wish we had spent our money elsewhere.

This restaurant was great, but way too noisy. It was very hard to talk even sitting side by side in the booth:)It's perfect for anyone who likes extremely loud music though. The whole atmosphere was fun, and we had a booth with a wonderful view of the strip. Our waitress was wonderful, suggesting dishes that she thought were good, since this visit was our 1st visit. They're Mac n' Cheese was noted in our information, but we didn't try it. I'm sure it was really good for all you mac n' cheese lovers:) However, cocktails were delicious and the walnut shrimp appetizer was our favorite! If you like a lot of loud music in a lively fun atmosphere (even TVs with ESPN) you will love this restaurant! Very good food! Marked down for noise level.

First Bar in the Palazzo was a fun dining experience. Over-looking the Strip, our table had an excellent view of the free street-side show at Ti while we ate dinner. The service was fine though our waiter could know more about each dish because he fumbled a bit with a paltry description when our table asked about a few dishes. The food though was very good and it was an original spin on classic American dishes. The Dorito Mac and Cheese was a stand out side dish as were the crusted pork chop and bacon-wrapped shrimp and grits entrées. The table ordered a few of the desserts, but the none could match the Monkey Bread which was excellent. There are many great choices for food in Vegas, but I would recommend this place for anyone.

We chose First for (ironically enough) our last night in Las Vegas. After several gourmet meals, we craved something a little more familiar. First's take on the familiar was extraordinary. A little twist here and there made for a very memorable meal. The attentive but not intrusive service was better than most places we tried in the city. Elsewhere, crowds are too large to be manageable for overworked staff or, in those places which tend to overstaff, servers tend to hover a bit much. First struck the right balance. The only detraction was the noise level. While the management obviously wants to create an energetic, urban atmosphere, the volume of the background music was beyond excessive.
