First Crush Restaurant Wine Bar & LoungeWe had never been to thisWe had never been to this restaurant before and decided to try it under the Dine About Town event. The food was excellent and the portions were huge! The appetizer of rock shrimp and calamari had just the right amount of spice to it. I had the burger and ended up taking half of it home! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we'll probably go there again especially on a theatre night.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Pre-ShowWe had dinner at First Crush prior to a show at ACT. The wine flights were a fun way to try several nice wines with our meal. The service was attentive, the pacing was a little erratic, but not enough to cause problems. The food was delicious. We had soup, a salad, three appetizers and a "large plate" and enjoyed them all. The dishes used fresh, interesting ingredients prepared with care and presented attractively. We will come back.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGood eats in a very central spotI made reservations here since several out-of-town friends wanted to meet close to Union Square. This place is super convenient to get to, and it's right around the corner from the Bart. As you might guess from the name, their menu features a great selection of wine. We tried some flights, priced between $11 - $14 so they're a pretty good deal. No complaints with the service either, as they were able to seat half of our party even though the other half was running late (none of this "you won't get seated until everyone is here" nonsense!). My only gripe is regarding their "Small Plates" selection; you get 5 pieces of lobster ravioli vs. an entire bowl of lobster mac-n-cheese. For the same $ obviously the mac-n-cheese is a much better value!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary trip to San FranciscoAlways love to eat at First Crush when we are in San Francisco.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dinner spotExcellent salads and main courses, attentive and friendly staff, overall very pleasant experience.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here on a ThursdayWe went here on a Thursday night for last minute dining. We didn't have any expectation going in but just to enjoy a nice glass of wine and a quick bite. And to our surprise the service was excellent, and we ordered an amazing cheese plate that paired wonderfully with a Rhone flight followed by two fantastic entree's. If you love fish, I highly recommend the Halibut as well as the chicken dish. We will definitely be returning.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGood bet in convention areaFirst Crush was a great place to get away from a very crowded convention and enjoy a glass of California wine and a lovely dinner. Very nice waiter as well.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love First Crush. EveryWe love First Crush. Every small plate we had was delicious.
