"We truly enjoyed our evening at First Crush. Our server was great, the food was very, very good and the ambiance was what we needed that night ... easy going and mellow. We shared several small plates, the mac-and-cheese standing out as a favorite amongst my dining companions. The portions for small plates were quite generous, a nice surprise. We had a fantastic time - thank you!"

"My husband and I came here for date night on a whim..booked with opentable that afternoon, which was perfect. We were impressed with the very friendly hostess, and the dimly lit yet inviting atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive but not hovering. Our starter, en tree's, and wine were all perfect. We'd definitely come again when in the area."

"Our party of 6 arrived at 6 PM on a Saturday. The lower level was reserved for a private party, so we were seated upstairs near the front door and a table of 8 very boisterous young women. Our request to be seated in a quieter place was handled graciously, quickly, and with apologies for the noise, but we moved only 8 feet. The rather cramped room quickly filled and got even noisier. The food was very good, and the wine list was interesting, as advertised. The staff was efficient and friendly. Upstairs is fine for small plates and wine."

"We ate om the bar as the restaurant was booked for a private party, so can't really comment on the fine dining ambience of the restaurant. Bar was busy, lively -- but, the food definitely lived up to our expectations, regardless of where we were seated."

"The food is consistently good and so are their wine selections. However, it seems that their price of the lobster mac and cheese went up. It is the best in the bay area yet lately, it seems to have less and less lobster yet costs more? Also, we did not get bread and the wonderful dipping sauce this time. We are frequent patrons of First Crush and some times we get bread and some times we don't. Still not sure why that is. Excellent white wine flight that we enjoyed."

"It is a nice cozy restaurant.

We both ordered the Caesar's Salad which had tomatoes on it and no anchovies (not quite a Caesar's Salad). Our next course was the Kobe Beef Burger which was huge and very tasty.

We had ordered one of the Coconut Bread Pudding to split, but were too full after eating the burger. We asked for the dessert to go. We had planned on enjoying it later that evening or for breakfast the following morning; but when we opened it to take a peak at it, it had ice cream on top of it. So, we had to eat it that evening. It had the flavors of a candy bar and didn't have the right texture for bread pudding.

Our ice tea glasses remained empty throughout most of the meal. The waiter was too busy chatting with the bart"

"I really like this place for the wine, but am always surprised by how good the food is. The small plates are great for sharing We had the grilled asparagus, wild mushroom ravioli and calamari with jalapenos-- all delicious! It's not very big inside, but is usually busy. After only two visits, I feel like a regular and love the welcoming ambiance."

"A wonderful experience in a cozy environment. Terrific food with flights offered in wine, cheese, and dessert. All staff were professional, helpful, and friendly. Timing of courses was perfect. Comfortable walking distance to theaters."
