  • "Bison ribeye was really good. Cheese board also very good."

  • "We arrived to find a sign saying they were closed for remodel & reopening May 1st. Epic fail for both Firelake & Open Table."

  • "This was our first trip to the Fireside Grill and we were delightfully surprised by the quality and quantity of the food provided. Our waiter gave us great recommendations and loved every bite of food we had. The popovers and bread plate made excellent appetizers. The only downside was that it took 1 1/2 hours to have our meal so we had no time for dessert before we had to leave for our show. We will definitely go back!"

  • "We have eaten here before. Our first time we had an outstanding waiter who made the occation special. This time our waiter did the absolute minimum resulting in a so-so evening."

  • "Got off work around 9:30p and met up with my wife and 9 month old daughter. We had reservations and were seated very promptly. Our server came over and offered us the dinner specials and took our drink orders. He then brought my daughter a bowl of Cheerios and a little hotel teddy bear without us asking. From there on Russell, our server, was fantastic and created a great experience."

  • "Very unique food from wild rice pancakes with chokeberry syrup, corn crusted walleye and roasted duck. Great service. I would highly recommend tis restaurant."

  • "The restaurant appeared to be understaffed both in the kitchen and in the dining room, as our server had too many tables to keep everything straight, and the food came out slowly. I had been there once before, had a GREAT experience with a friend and couldn't wait to come back with my family, so it was disappointing."

  • "This was our first trip to Firelake Grill House and we loved it! Rather short wine list, but what was there was good. The crafted cocktails were beautiful. Our waiter provided impeccable service and each dish we tried: prime rib, striped bass and rock shrimp, pork chop and walleye were all perfectly prepared. The beer cheese soup and beet salad for starters were wonderful. We will definitely be back to try more dishes."

  • "Some great selections of food. We were a group of 6. We all LOVED the popovers -- and everything else we ordered as well. Our waiter was attentive and could speak about how each dish was prepared."

  • "We had a group of six college friends getting together. One friend is allergic to onions. The sous chef came to our table to discuss food options and then personally delivered her meal to her. She said it was so delicious and is now planning to bring her husband for a special occasion since they were so attentive to her needs. All our meals were delicious. Will certainly go back again."

  • "Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and great servers. Try the prime rib popover sandwich, and be sure to ask to sit in Rick's section."

  • "This restaurant had very poor customer service and food. The meat was over-cooked and not prepared as requested. The server was very slow and inexperienced as a server. Not only did he take over 30 minutes to take the order, but he rarely came back to the table to find out if we needed anything between his limited trips to the table."

  • "Firelake Grill House is a great place for lunch! The menu has a great variety, prices are moderate and the service was top notch. We will be back, and will recommend to others as well."

  • "Service was excellent, however, the food was not worth the price paid. Also, used a gift card and was told they had to look up the balance manually because their system can't do a balance check?"

  • "The food is amazing. I have dined here 4 times since November and have no words of improvement. The staff is exceptional as well."

  • "This is the second time here, and we were disappointed from the beginning. The first time, we parked in the hotel garage and the restaurant validated parking. This time, the entire garage was blocked off and devoted to valet only. So we parked in the Mall of America garages over a quarter-mile away. Disappointing. The server did not know what the seasonal brew on tap was. She asked and told us it was Bud Light (seasonal? really?). Disappointing. The turkey pot pie was mostly sauce. Disappointing. The cassoulet had delicious meat, but the beans tasted as if they were from a can - and the meat had not been cooked in with the beans. It was served "deconstructed." Disappointing. First time was good. This time, not."

  • "Were celebrating a birthday, looking forward to relaxed but elegant dinner. Staff was cordial in the extreme. Decor sleek but warm. Menu seemed slightly small, but good. Wait staff knowledgeable and showed pride in menu. Noise level, with tile floors lessened ambiance. We dressed up a bit, being dinner. We were surpirsed to see all the small children/highchairs there, as well as very, very casual attire. One young couple came in worn jeans and backpacks. Upon being seated, the girl took out a scrunchie and pull her hair into a pony tail at the table. Gross! Think this is geared more to mall crowd/families, not special occasion. Lunch/breakfast is a better bet here, due to casualness. Breakfast was fabulous, by the way!"

  • "Your server Gregory was excellent he explained everything. There menu has a wide verity of items that you don't see at other places. My wife order the honey pork chop and I had the Cassoulet both were very good."

  • "Waited a long time to be seated and my meet was undercooked Soup had no flavor and service was slow, was only 3 tables in the whole restaurant."

  • "I enjoyed the FireLake grill house much more than I was expecting! I chose it as a place to entertain out of town guests before their flight, and was expecting it to be a poor substitute for the types of restaurants I would've been able to take them to downtown. I couldn't have been more wrong! The ambiance is cool, the servers are knowledgeable, and the good was incredibly delicious! There is even a beautiful view our the window since the restaurant faces away from the mall! I well definitely be back! Thanks for providing such a great place to bring my family!"

  • "We went for lunch during restaurant week and were delightfully surprised by the special menu. Salad, soup, sandwich (3 choices of each and all excellent) and a wonderful chocolate caramel pecan dessert. What a wonderful lunch for $10. The room itself is "okay" as far as decor."

  • "This was my first time at the this restaurant and thought about trying since it was Restaurant week. I like the Radisson Blu as it is convenient for most people who likes to shop at MOA. If you are planning for a romantic dinner, I would say that it is not so much fun as parking cost and ambience at the restaurant is not as cozy as I thought it would be. The food was okay. My soup was cold and I had to request to be warmed up. The steak was chewy and I was not impress with the dessert. I don't think that I would ever go back for dinner."

  • "We visited Firelake @ MOA as part of Restaurant Week. When we arrived our hostess told us our server's name and said he's the best. In my mind I said "we'll see about that." As it turned out, Gregory was the best! He tended to us in a perfect way -- not overly or under. I asked for suggestions and went with a couple of his suggestions that were awesome. The rotisserie pork chop -- YUM (and I'm not a huge pork chop fan) and the duck gnudi -- an ecclectic mix of ingredients that were delish! Our dinner menu included dessert but Gregory also treated us to a complimentary dark chocolate cake. So good. The ambiance was cozy, the dinner was timed out nicely and we didn't feel rushed. My husband and I enjoyed it and we'll be back. Nice job!"

  • "The dining area was relaxed and comfy. We ordered all the waiter had recommended. The food was amazing!!!! Appetizer - fire grilled flat pizza = 5 star. Delish. Entree - Buffalo steak - I would normally not order cut of meat from a buffalo, but it was amazing! I highly recommend. Fingerling potatoes with light blue cheese . Portions are not big, but it was fine for me. Will return if I'm ever in MN again."

  • "I've been to the Fire Lake in downtown Minneapolis, and this restaurant feels like a different venue. Lots more space in a beautiful facility. I brought kids and the server was very accommodating. Perhaps a little too upscale for a family restaurant but the Legos were a nice touch. Food was excellent. Took a little longer than some restaurants but it was an event night so I can understand. Overall very satisfied with the experience and plan on visiting again!"

  • "We've dined here several times and intend to keep this restaurant in our rotation. This particular visit was for Restaurant Week, where Fire Lake offered a $30 dinner. The price included a glass of wine (any of their "by the glass" offerings) or a beer (nice selection), choice of a couple soups or salads, an entree and dessert. We were impressed by the selections available. The food was excellent, and the value for $30 was fantastic. Our server was very polite and friendly, and reasonably quick. He didn't offer the special menu until we specifically asked for it, and them seemed to discourage us from ordering from it. Despite his warning that the selections were limited, we found them to be reasonably broad. Still, not bad at all."

  • "I took my family to a burthday lunch there to enjoy the Minneapolis-St. Paul magazine restaurant week offerings. The unique design of the hotel and restaurant lent a special quality to our birthday outing. Our service was superb and the food was excellent. Are parking in the ramp was complementary. An added plus, the hotel is attached to the Mall of America. Lovely place to take out-of-town guests who might wish to visit that location."

  • "The high level of service at this restaurant was obvious from our experience. Although we were 45 min early, we were seated within 20 min. There was a mix-up with the table, so the hostess asked us to wait in the lobby until they had it perfect! We entered a space with reclaimed wood, stylish lights, and a table set with impressive cutlery and cloth napkins. We came for the Restaurant Week meal. There were many options. We ordered the Lemon-Ricotta Cornmeal Waffles and the Sausage Skillet. It came with fresh juice and coffee. The food was delicious and the server fairly attentive. The attention to detail for the plating was well-done and appreciated. The cost of the meal on this occasion was a steal. We will definitely be back!"

  • "I stayed at the Mall of America Radisson Blu hotel last weekend. Not only was I extremely happy with this hotel, but dined at their Fire Lake Grill House restaurant and was very pleased with all aspects of my dining experience! The service was good, the food was excellent and the price was reasonable. We had the prime rib and prawn combination platter and were very happy with everything we ate. The prime rib was tender and rich with flavor, the herb mashed potatoes were seasoned perfectly, and the stuffed prawns were done to perfection. I was somewhat disappointed with the popovers at 2 for $5.00. They were over baked and not very flavorful. Overall it was a wonderful dining experience!"

  • "This is the second time and probably last time I will dine here. Although the food has been excellent both times, the service is lacking. New Years Eve I had reservations and after being seated, we waited almost 8 minutes before being acknowledged. The exact same thing happened on this recent visit. Neither time was the restaurant swamped. It's like there is not enough staff even though the place is only half full. Our waitress was pleasant once she got to us and then explained she got everyone seated in her section all at once."

  • "We were there last fall for restaurant week. Had great seri e and food was wonderful. This time service was very slow; we waited 15 minutes between apps and entree. The flat iron steak had gristle in, but was wonderfully seasoned on the outside. The steak sauce was wonderful. But the spoon cake was dry and stuck to the dish. Likely we'll try a third time when we're at the mall. But for now it's a split decision."

  • "We had a memorable birthday lunch for our daughter's 18th at Firelake. Our party consisted of foodies, vegans, and picky eaters. All were impressed and satifsfied. Our waiter made sure the special event was specially recognized with fabulous desserts. We'll definitely remember this great venue even when we're not wanting a MOA experience."
