The only major problem I had this time was the service. It may be small for some but my drink was not refilled or tended to until I asked. The other was I had a question regarding my choice and I had to ask again for my answer. Our reservation for 13 was at 7pm and our table was waiting on us. The service we were given throughout the night was fantastic and I would not have done enything different. The food was great and cooked as ordered, not over or under done. 1. Firefly is a little hard to find with a GPS. Had no idea it was in a storefront
2. The exterior betrays the beauty of the interior. Safely one of the most attractive restaurants I have ever been to
3. The service is amazingly responsive without being annoying (a hard balance to find sometimes)
4. The presentation of the food is first rate. Almost too pretty to eat
5. Portions are small as most fine dining places are
6. Food is good, but not great....especially considering the above average prices
7. Definitely the place to take someone you want to impress

It's the one night in Florida when you don't want to wear flip flops and baggy beach wear. You want to dress up a bit to fit into the ambience of this restaurant. The food is fabulous from the first course to dessert. The crab cakes were amazing, the she crab soup was to die for, and the filet was melt in your mouth delicious. I took my creme brulee' back to our townhouse to have as a little bed picnic later that night.
This place is not inexpensive. But it's special, and we pay a bit more for the special things in life.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for anniversary!We went to Firefly for our anniversary May 6th, and had a phenomenal experience. The service was fast, attentive, and very pleasant. My wife requires a gluten-free diet and the kitchen is more than able to accommodate. There's no gluten-free menu, but if you let them know, then the kitchen and wait staff will work around your requirements, substituting sides or modifying recipes, and the food was absolutely amazing! I had the boar shank, my wife had the veal chop. Both absolutely amazing. Also, the place maintains a romantic atmosphere, with a big tree in the middle of the restaurant mimicking an outdoor patio. It seemed a bit loud for a Monday night, but certainly not a deal breaker. Overall: a little pricey, but worth every penny.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining without stuffiness.Atmosphere is perfect for either jackets and ties or blue jeans. The baked brie appetizer was delicious, not spectacular. The Caesar salad was delicious, though the crab gave it a slightly fishy taste, (great if you like anchovy in Caesar). The butter lettuce salad was spectacular. The real star was the entree. The stuffed filet is the most delicious steak I've ever eaten, and even medium-well, as tender as cake. Even the potato hash side was to-die-for. The desserts shine just as bright. The creme brulee is the finest I've ever had, and the bread pudding (mine was chocolate), was so decadently rich I couldn't finish it. Service was 5-star but very friendly and not stuffy. I HIGHLY recommend Firefly. The only drawback is that the tables have an open view into the kitchen where a lot of plates are stacked. We love being seated under the tree! The waiters and waitresses always know exactly how to fix the table and are extremely polite and professional. The she-crab soup is absolutely AMAZING, I highly recommend it! He got the pepper crusted filet and I got the cold water lobster, both were delicious and artfully arranged when they arrived. Be prepared to spend about $150 including tip for a relaxing evening for two with a few drinks. Firefly which is conveniently located across the street from our condo was ranked #1 for Panama City Restaurants. Food was awesome!!!! Chef's Grouper with corn was incredible.
