Firefly American BistroGreat Experience!We dined here for a birthday celebration and everything was perfect! We arrived a few minutes later than our reservation time but our table was ready. The restaurant is elegant without being pretentious. Our waitress, Laurel was so nice and attentive to our table. The menu has plenty of variety, and the drink menu is huge! Our drinks and food came fairly quick. I ordered the Eggplant Napolean and it was delish! The portion size is generous but doesnt make you feel gross after like some places. The restaurant was packed, and I was concerned that we might have to wait for awhile. However, we were shown right to the corner table in the bar. It is actually the best table in the place! Our meals were very good. I had the scallops, and my husband had the tuna. The blood-orange cosmo was excellent. We had the carrot cake for dessert. The only complaint we had was that we were charged $1.00 for extra garlic toast we needed to finish the gorgonzola cheese that is served as the "Go-Go Bread" appetizer. Considering the waitress asked if we needed more bread to finish up the cheese, but didn't mention the upcharge, we felt it was a bit deceitful.

Our waiter, Nick, was awesome! He asked if we had any special needs - I told him we were there for my daughter's birthday dinner (she hadn't arrived yet). He asked what her preferences were - I said "chocolate!" That was all that needed to be said. At the end of our meal without another word, he brought out a delicious piece chocolate cake with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the plate - with a lit candle in it, too!The food was great - upscale comfort food.Great first experience! I used this as well when I visited my son in South Carolina in February of this year and went to Fleets Landing. Our waitress was extremely accomodating, patient and pleasant. We were not rushed and I cannot express again our satisfaction with the patience of our waitress. I will be taking my son here when he comes home on leave in December and my daughter and I are coming back for dinner. We were greeted as we entered and felt at home. The service was great and our waiter, Nick, was attentive and friendly. The Greek omelot and the Steak tips and eggs were fabulous and served hot! I forget her name but she was a tall blonde if you get her you have no worries. The food was top notch and i am a personal chef so i know good upscale food. I got the braised lamb shank and my fiance got the bacon wrapped steak with whiskey BBQ sauce, both were very good. Then I got the chocolate chip cookie sundae which was amazing and my fiancee got the Madagascar vanilla bean creme brulee, which wasnt set as much as se would have liked but she said the flavor was there. Nice app selection. Drinks were well prepared and ample in size. Something for evey taste from surf to turf to veggi, to glutin free, Even a Thai piece. Service was attentive, always around but not too close. A little noisy but not unbearable. A very nice restoration of an old downtown building. The place was packed at 6:30 when we arrived (our table was ready)and just as busy when we left at 9:00. It was a wonderful place to dine, great food and great service. It was a little loud, but a great place for a night out with friends!
