They might want to add a dish or two with a chicken foundation and possibly an additional vegan entree. Certainly an east side favorite but, as it's in Shaker Square, not easy to get to from anywhere other than the Heights. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area."

  • "I requested a romantic table and got it, at a window table while a snowstorm swirled madly outside. The wall heaters were perfect in keeping us warm. Our waiter, Christian, was knowledgeable and accommodating. The food was just right, cocktails tasty, ambience lively but not noisy. And I was gifted with a tiny birthday cake and candle! A perfect evening!"

  • "Great food! Fire has everything from duck confit and grits to lemon soufflé pancakes with blueberry compote. Love the atmosphere for brunch-very classy but easy-going so you can enjoy a long relaxing breakfast without the feeling of being rushed. We came here for my mom's birthday and everyone had wonderful food and a fantastic experience. I have been to Fire for dinner as well and really enjoyed the food and service. It does seem to get more romantic/upscale at night, but still the ambience is relaxing, not stiff."

You are going to pay for quality, so it is more of a special occasion meal, but the price wasn't exorbitant for what you got. The service was also excellent.   • "We had a group of five on a Friday evening, and all of our meals were wonderful. From the sea scallops, to the pork chop (with fried egg) to the whole fish, it was a delicious meal. The owner, Doug Katz, usually makes a point to stop by the tables and ask how everyone is doing - that night was no exception. This is an energetic place on a Friday night - lots of fun in a nice atmosphere. It was obviously cold the night we were there, but the outdoor dining is nice on Shaker Square. There is also a small bar inside. I think you can make this place work for any occasion!"

  • "If you love duck confit like I do, go to Fire. If you don't eat a lot, make sure to ask for the 1/2 portion, otherwise, they automatically serve you two LARGE duck legs. They were very kind in swapping out the spaetzle for brussels sprouts, which were delicious. The service was superb, and Doug Katz, chef/owner, stopped by our table twice. My friend's daughter had the lamb, which was very nice. I recommend that, too. I'm not a fan of lamb, but I enjoyed this because it had a subtle lamb taste. My friend had the steak, which I didn't taste. I highly recommend the caramel ice cream."

  • "My husband and I went here for my birthday this past weekend, it was our first time at Fire. I loved the seasonality of the menu and service was spot-on. The only small disappointment was my husband's cocktail. He ordered the Fig Time, the lemon juice was just overpowering. It tasted basically like lemonade (maybe that is the point, but it wasn't what we were expecting). Everything else came out as expected. I recommend the duck confit and the white bean and tomato soup, if they have it!"

Our waiter Kelly was helpful with suggestion about food and wine but forgot to bring our drink that I could see sitting on the bar then he forgot to bring our wine we ordered with dinner again we could see it sitting at the bar. The food was great and overall we did have a good time despite our scattered waiter."

  • "It's a bit expensive! The four of us had brunch and no cocktails ... $95 including tip! Food was good, however, I ordered the Vegan Entree which was described as root vegetables, black beans, Quinoa and a few other ingredients. There was no mention of cilantro, but of course it was loaded with cilantro. Why does every chef feel that if a recipe has black beans, they have to reach for the cilantro. I despise cilantro and returned it for the eggs benedict. The best and most creative item we had was the wonderful tea! They serve tea leaves in french press style."

I had to order another appetizer after that and I was still hungry!!!you pay an arm and a leg at this restaurant and u get a sample main course instead of real normal size dish!!!I am very very disappointed!!!"

And “Fire” is guilty of that: food is always delicious – breakfast sandwich, pizza, croque madame and stuffed French toast just to name a few of the favorites. I really appreciated that the chef was walking around saying "hi" to guests. Makes you feel "at home". I guess theres a reason why you always need reservations."

Waiter was knowledgeable and eager to please---kitchen issue? Chef came out and could not have been nicer to us and surrounding tables---very hands on with great style. Food was excellent but pricey. Desert menu was uninspiring."

Several waitresses, including ours gathered to chat for an extended period of time instead of checking on their tables.   • "A friend and I decided to meet for brunch on Sunday and gave Fire a first time try! It did not disappoint. Although the restaurant was a tad backed up in its seating, the staff all held their composure and were simply wonderful. Despite the fact that the restaurant was full, we never felt as if we were overlooked and our meals arrived in good time.I had the crispy duck comfit which although a tad on the salty side was quite delicious! Beautiful presentation. Needless to say we plan to go again!"
