Diner Reviews
  • "Ate here with the family, on a sunny Sunday evening, had a table inside with the family. Hard to give a review here as the experience was so mixed. The restaurant is a bit of canteen, noisy, although it wasn't full. The service was charming, friendly to the kids - but brought the wrong wine and it took 3 attempts for the server to get my wife's order down, with the server finally asking me what my wife wanted. The menu is a bit limited, no kids menu (a surprise given it's a pretty informal spot). We had calamari, which was excellent, the pizza seems to be the speciality and my wife enjoyed hers. There is a lot of food on the pasta plates, kids enjoyed sharing a chicken alfredo and my steak and pasta was fine."

  • "I was at a conference located at National Harbor with friends and we were looking for restaurant options for lunch and dinner. Dinner at this restaurant was fun, relaxing, and tasty! We all had something different (Mahi Mahi special, Chicken Alfredo, and Margareta Pizza) and all of us were very happy with the quality and portions of food. Also, our waiter was very friendly and provided great service. We will definitely eat here again."

  • "The service and food here were excellent. The chef visited our table and was very accommodating to our needs. Thumbs up. It is worth your time to dine here if you visit the National Harbor."

  • "Limited menu. Nice selection of late read pizza, always a hit. Limited selections for the health conscious patron, and fish is overpriced and often under-cooked. In the heart of a tourist area, so it is often busy to the point of chaotic. Be sure to make your open table reservation. The staff has improved over time and is eager to please!"

  • "I went on a week night and sat at the bar and had friendly service. The menu is very limited and mostly it seems to be a pizza place. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and it was good, but not special. If you plan on being "online" or use a smart phone, forget it. The wifi must be in the office in the back as it flat out won't work. You also can't get any 4G/3G signal as the building is concrete or something. I don't mean slow signal/service. I mean NO service."

  • "I have been to this restaurant a few times in the past and I do like it. Their service is good but it's not spectacular. However, their food is relatively good. Its great in the summer when you can sit outside."

  • "Had dinner at Fiorella with my family one weeknight. The service was good - the server was pretty knowledgeable of the food selection and pretty attentive to our needs. The food was great! Very flavorful and cooked well. I would say, if you do not eat pork (we don't), avoid anything with the meat sauce as that is made with both beef and pork. Overall, I think it was a good dinner, good atmosphere, and even with a pretty full area, it wasn't too loud."

  • "Overall fine. Food was good, not great. Ambiance was fine, a bit cramped and a bit noisy. Table was wobbly and there was no attempt at hiding the multiple wood screws drilled through the side of the table to hold the legs together. Service was fine. Really not worth the price, but not a lot of good options at the National Harbor. For conference attendees and folks staying at the hotels there, this is a fine option."

  • "Love Fiorella Italian Kitchen! Our latest discovery is to sit by the oven & watch the masters at work! It is a well oiled machine when the food prep and cooking come together. They have everything timed so that it comes out together and is perfectly prepared. I tried the salmon and veggies and it was spectacular. My hubby had our regular Eggplant Parm pizza and it was wonderful as always. The other thing we tried for the first time was the cheesecake with cherries - it was the best cheesecake I have ever had and just melted in my mouth. Can't wait for summer so we can sit outside and watch the sunset...but then we will miss the food show. Hmmm...that will be a tough choice but we will always go to Fiorella's when we eat at National Harbor!"

  • "Fiorella Italian Kitchen is a cute neighborhood restaurant which appeared to be a local favorite. I came early, but the restaurant quickly filled up. It had an energetic atmosphere with several large groups. My server, Shay, was knowledgeable and did a great job offering service and recommendations on the menu. I ordered their special combination pizza. It came on a cracker crust and instead of having all of the toppings mixed together, it had separate sections for each topping (e.g. peperoni, Italian sausage, etc.). The pizza was good but a bit dry. I would ask for extra sauce next time. The bread pudding I had for dessert was also unique and quite tasty. The check came with a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie which was a nice touch."

  • "Great restaurant, very attentive staff, fun people and good food.. While National Harbor is out of the way for us, we wanted a good Italian place that had atmosphere and good food. While earlier reviews are somewhat negative, I noticed that more recent are very positive. I am not sure what has changed but we loved it, and will be going back. At the table we had the lasagna, chicken with pasta, and Pasta Florentine. While we all swore that we would be taking some home, based on the serving size, most of it disappeared at the table, it was just that good. The place does have some big tables, so if you have a group this could be a great place to go. On another note, it is all on a single floor, with no steps, so easily handicap accessible."

  • "We went to Fiorella with my wife for Valentine, food was outstanding. The Margarita pizza is probably the best I've ever had, you should also try the calzone. The only downside is that they prepare their meat sauce with pork meat so we could not try the lasagna which is one of their specialty. There are a lot of people that don't eat pork meat for different reasons so the restaurant should give people the option of beef only sauce."

  • "From the time we walked in the door we were greeted with smiles and it continued with everyone we encountered. Everyone was friendly and on top of our every need. Our waitress was very personable and engaging. The LASAGNA is amaizing!!! Great Date Night place!!"

  • "I read mixed reviews of this restaurant but was pleasantly surprised. It was very crowded due to large dance/cheer competition but food came out fast, manager/server were very nice, loved the free chocolate chip cookies they brought around. I thought prices were in line with other restaurants in the area. Would go back!"

  • "Expensive for the quality of food. Crowded, noisy and our server was also the bartender so service slow. The drink refill slow and his recommendations on portion size was not honest so he could incur a higher tip. For example the salad to share and the size of the pizza. The shrimp scampi & spaghetti and meatballs were just average. The bill was $175 no achohol & very disappointed. Wanted to go to Rosa Mexicano but it was booked should have known that this restaurant had availability for a reason..."

  • "They were out of a couple of items early in the evening. The server gave the incorrect info a couple of times. When questioned and pointed out his error by showing him the menu,he said he would check with the chef (like I was incorrect). He came back and said the chef apologized and offered to get me something else. At that point everyone else was finished eating. He did remove the item from the bill. Would recommend he get more/better training. Would not return."

  • "After reading some of the reviews, I was hesitant to go here. I was very happy with our experience. The service was excellent, food was very good, we had salad bowl, lasagna and chicken alfredo. Nice bottle of wine and desert. Price was very reasonable. I would definitley recommend. Make sure you have reservation, this area is very busy on weekends. Without reservation wait can be 2 hours."

  • "Met at the door by someone who evidently thoroughly enjoyed looking down on people and telling them there would be at least a 90 minute wait (make a reservation). We made a reservation for the next night, got in right away. The restaurant was LOUD and any type of ambiance was lost. Food arrived relatively quickly and was average, nothing out of the ordinary."

  • "The food was good, and the restaurant ambience is nice. The service wasn't very good (just slow), but to be fair, it was Christmas Day and maybe they were short staffed. The food was very good."

  • "Good food and service, but comical...an Italian restaurant with no spaghetti, tagliatelle, or lasagna. Hopefully this is just a shortage on a busy holiday weekend. Overall, it was still a good experience and I will go back, hopefully to try their Fiorella Lasagna."

  • "The average wait time for the restaurants at National Harbor was an hour. I logged onto Open Table and was able to slip into a reservation that was opening up in 15 mins. We got there within 5 mins of booking it from my phone app and our reservation was already there with the hostess! The table wasn't ready but we grabbed a drink from the bar and were sat shortly after (much less time than the avg hour wait going on). The server was prompt, friendly and efficient, great start! While waiting for our food the manager came over and said that they were on our orders in the kitchen and that a round of drinks was on them and dessert! I hadn't even realized yet that the food was late. I was impressed and the food was awesome and plentiful."

  • "We went to Fiorella for dinner after visiting ICE as the menu prices were very reasonable given its location at the National Harbor. The restaurant décor was very rustic and we were served a flute of sparkling wine while we waited for our table. The waitress and serving staff (girl with the hot chocolate chip cookies) were all very pleasant and friendly....we felt very relaxed and warm on a rainy cold night! The food was excellent from the calamari appy to the grand salad and the spaghetti & meatball entrees. Very nicely made, light on the sauce, rich with cheese, just perfect! We will definitely revisit next time we're down at the harbor!"

  • "Not a destination dining place- but rather fits the bill if you're in the area and want a quick bite Watch the menu closely. Descriptions can be misleading for example a margherita pizza is not a margherita pizza but their own interpretation of one"

  • "I waited 25 minutes for a beer. The table next to us arrived after us but finished their meal before we got our food. Server got the order wrong and said he would fix it on the bill. He didn't. I can get same food and better service at Olive Garden."

  • "Server was great - warm, friendly and efficient. Everything went down hill from there. Table and chairs are very uncomfortable. The entire dining room gets blasted by cold air every time the door opens. Food was just average. Overall, too much to pay for an overall mediocre experience. Next time we'll just take the kids to Baja Fresh."

  • "Outstanding! Across the board: outstanding! Great ambiance, nicely decorated, extremely friendly staff, and the food is plentiful, economical, and delicious. My girlfriend and I both commented on the freshness of the salad, which tasted as if it had just come from the garden. The pepperoni pizza was more than enough for two and it was delicious. Topped it all off with a tasty and very reasonably priced bottle of Sangiovese. There was a large group of junior high school aged kids and their chaperones sitting in our section, but we could still very easily converse without shouting at the other couple dining with us, so...HUZZAH for the restaurant's acoustics! Our waiter did a great job of quick and efficient service. We'll be back!"

  • "We sat at a high top table in the bar/lounge, which was nice, although the restaurant advertises "outstanding views" of the Potomac, which is just not true. Obstructed by a very large, vacant building, so partial views at best. The food was fine, nothing outstanding, and the service started out great (the waiters seem to "share" tables, so you have someone checking up on you regularly), but when a large party came in, a group that looked like Italian mobster wanna-be's, all their attention went to them and we had to flag down waiters to get service."

  • "We paid way too much for some of the worst food we've ever eaten. The calamari pizza in particular sounded interesting but featured calamari that was too rubbery and tasteless to eat atop a few leaves of lettuce, raw sliced tasteless tomatoes, and a layer of greasy, hard mozzarella. And at $70 for one adult pizza, one calzone, and a child's buttered spaghetti, the food should have at least been edible."

  • "We had a reservation for 6 people. When we arrived, they threw two round table together for us. Not good. We were seated by the door on a very cold night so every time the door opened, we got blasted with cold air as the people held the door open. The host, who was standing right there, never asked the people to move in or out and just let them leave the door open. The food was just o.k. No one particularly thought their meal was anything special. The special lasagna was more like a pizza and should have been described as such on the menu. Everything else we had was serviceable, at best. Not likely that we will return."
